Lake Vattern

At a staggering 31 kilometres wide and 135 kilometres long Lake Vattern stretches from Askersund in the north to Jonkoping in the south, this is huge by anyone’s standards. You would be hard pressed to find apartments in Jonkonping Area that do not offer a view of at least some part of the lake. All of the holiday accommodation in Jonkoping Area offers easy access to all of the activities that you can take part in out on the water. The lake is popular with fisherman so there are also opportunities to fish yourself while you are here.

Visingso

One part of Jonkoping, Visingso, is separated by the rest by the waters of the lake. Visingso is an island, the largest island to be found in Lake Vattern. For centuries, due to its location on the lake this island that measures 14 kilometres by 3 kilometres at its widest, has been the sight of fortified settlements, the remains of which can still be seen. Holiday rentals in Jonkoping Area have easy access to the ferry which makes regular trips out to the island from the ferry port at Granna Town. This is a truly stunning region of Sweden and holiday homes in Jonkoping Area are a great way to experience it.
