Things to Do in the Basque Country
Our holiday accommodation in the Basque Country is located throughout the region, so you can choose a cosy, countryside cottage or a chic apartment in the city. Farmhouses in the Basque Country are particularly popular with families, with scenic countryside locations where there's no end to the activities on offer. You could always choose sun, sea and sand at one of the numerous beaches along the coast from Bilbao, or take a day trip to beautiful villages such as Sare and Ainhoa.
Places to See in the Basque Country
One of the best places to visit when on holiday in the Basque Country is the beautiful town of Alava. It may not be quite as famous as its neighbour La Rioja, but it produces equally robust reds that you simply have to try. Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, its vineyards and wineries are a great place to take a tour. Of course, no trip to the Basque Country can be without a trip to the world-famous Guggenheim in Bilbao. Fantastically strange, and made of twisted titanium, it's one of the best modern art museums in Spain.
