Spoof Websites and Emails (Phishing)

Fake (spoof) websites and emails try to look like our site and emails or pretend to be from your email provider. The scammers who create these sites and send these emails do so in the hope you will fall for the scam and enter your username, password and other personal information. If you receive a suspicious email, do not click on any links or reply. A suspicious email would be one that doesn't include normal brand heading, has typos and errors, or asks for personal information via email.

Contact us here if you receive an email that you think might be from Owners Direct, but looks suspicious and claims to come from one of our brands please contact us right away so that our security team can deal with it.

Scam and Spam Inquiries

Owners Direct has invested in trust & security technology to detect spam and scam enquiries, but even so, occasionally sophisticated spam attempts get past our filters. Please inform us if you receive a scam email, we'll implement new rules to catch them.

Account Security

We have numerous security features in place to keep your Owners Direct account secure; but we do not have any control over the security procedures of your email provider.

Keep your personal email account secure by using strong, alpha-numeric passwords and updating them every few months.

If you receive an email or message that asks you to re-enter your username and password for your email provider, close that window and sign into your email account from the email provider's website.

To access your owner dashboard on a HomeAway website, log in ONLY via our official websites.

How do I protect myself against credit card phone scams?

By adhering to the following best practices, you can help protect yourself against credit card scams conducted over the phone.

1. The best way to avoid falling victim to a credit card scam conducted over the phone is to only give your credit card information to a trusted party.

2. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from OwnersDirect.co.uk and asking for your credit card details, please check the following to make sure you are speaking with an OwnersDirect.co.uk representative:

  1. If you are a new advertiser that has attempted to register with OwnersDirect.co.uk online but has not finished the registration process – Our Sales team will confirm your username and the exact date and time when you registered on the website when they introduce themselves. If the person on the phone is not able to confirm these details, please do not share your credit card details and instead just hang up, wait a few minutes for the line to clear, and then call our Sales department on 0845 528 0249 (or +44 203 514 0105 if calling from outside the UK) to confirm whether an OwnersDirect.co.uk representative called you.

  2. If you are an existing owner renewing a subscription - Our Sales team will always ask you to confirm your security questions before proceeding with the payment. If the person on the phone is not able to confirm your security questions, please do not share your credit card details and instead just hang up, wait a few minutes for the line to clear, and then call our Sales department on 0845 528 0249 (or +44 203 514 0105 if calling from outside the UK) to confirm whether an OwnersDirect.co.uk representative called you.

3. Review your credit card charges frequently. If you do not recognise a charge on your statement, contact your bank or credit card provider to take action against further charges.

If you think you have already given your credit card information to a scammer, contact your bank right away. Review your charges and dispute any unauthorised charges. Request a new credit card number.
