About this property

Wonderful 6 king bed 2.5 bath Victorian home with character in central London

This is an amazing family home to make your home during your stay in London. It is very spacious with sleeping arrangements for up to 16 on 6 king beds and 4 sofa beds. There is also a family room with a king bed and double futon bed. In addition to the sleeping spaces there is a living room with Freeview and Netflix, a large kitchen and dining area with a dining table large enough to seat 14, a utility room with a washing machine and dryer and a back garden.

The bedrooms are located on the first, second and third floors with three on the first floor, one on the second floor and two on the third floor. The bedrooms also come with USB chargers to make it easier for international visitors to charge phones.

There are also 2.5 bathrooms with one on the ground floor, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. The ground floor bathroom is a walk in shower whilst the third floor bath is a combined bathtub and shower.

The kitchen is large and fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, espresso machine, kettle, microwave, toaster whilst also having a large dining table which can seat 14. There is an adjoining utility room with washing machine and dryer so that you can do your laundry during your stay if needed.

Many guests have commented on how large the house is and this means that even for those with large families or groups it is a comfortable and delightful space to stay whilst visiting London. What makes it even more appealing are the great amenities on its doorstep which means that you do not have to walk very far to access great restaurants, supermarkets or public transports. All are literally a few seconds walk away!

Great efforts are taken to maintain high standards of cleaning at the property and all towels and linen are fresh for each new guest.

It is rare to find such a large home in London which can accommodate large groups but as this used to be my family home I enjoy being able to share it with other families and groups.

I provide a personal check in to help guests to feel welcome and also so that guests can be showed first hand all of the amenities. I am also happy to share local tips and any other information to help make your stay more enjoyable.

I welcome all guests and enjoy learning about different cultures and exchanging stories and experiences. I am available as much as guests need as I enjoy the hosting experience and the community that it creates.

It is very easy and quick to get around by public transport. The bus stop is a few seconds away on the main road which go to Central London or tube stations nearby such as Manor House and Finsbury Park. There are also two overground train stations a short walk away (Haringey Green Lanes and Haringey). It is really easy to travel to London. So for example it takes about 20 minutes to travel to King's Cross, 25 minutes to Oxford Street and 30 minutes to Victoria.

Street parking can be arranged for an extra fee if requested in advance as there is the usual London residential parking restrictions.

From London City Airport take the DLR to Bank, then take the Central line to Holborn, then take the Piccadilly line to Manor House then take 29, 141 or 341 to Mattison Road stop

From London Gatwick Airport take Gatwick Express to Victoria station, then take Victoria line to Finsbury Park, take Piccadilly line to Manor House then take 29, 141 or 341 to Mattison Road stop.

From Heathrow Airport take the Piccadilly line to Manor House then take 29, 141 or 341 bus to Mattison Road stop.

From Luton Airport Parkway take Thameslink to St Pancras International, then take Piccadilly line to Manor House then 29, 141 or 341 bus to Mattison Road stop.

From Standsted Airport take the Greater Anglia to Seven Sisters then take Overground to Harringay Green Lanes.

From the Mattison Road bus stop turn left towards the traffic lights, cross to the other side of the road, turn left and walk towards Kimberley Gardens on your right. You will walk past ‘Savers’. If you are lost ask someone where ‘Iceland’ is as Kimberley Gardens is just round the corner.

Abysmal. Disgusting. To be avoided. Property not as described. Filthy from top to bottom.
As promised, the owner, Mr Praveen Jeetun, met us at the property for an orientation. Before the end of the “tour” I let him know that I was shocked and disappointed with the poor condition of the house. I referred to the musty smell and numerous examples of grave deficiencies in cleanliness and the overall state of repair. He was oblivious. He flatly refused to answer my requests for a refund stating that “You bought it - you got it”. Nice! We elected to book hotel rooms (for 9 of us) at the local Travelodge. The property is not as described by Mr Jeetun in the VRBO listing: Firstly: We were expecting to find 6 king-sized beds. For us, this was a major selling feature. A standard king bed measures 74” wide. Actual measurements ranged between 60” and 66” wide. Zero king beds! Back garden & patio too dirty & heavily overgrown with weeds to be of any use. Secondly: “Great efforts are made to maintain high standards of cleaning”. Couldn’t be farther from the truth! You might expect a Victorian era house would come with squeaky floors and creaky stairs - no problem. But, when the entire place is encased in Victorian era dust, dirt, and grime - all of it in plain view - not OK. To summarize: dust & dirt in pretty much every corner, fecal matter (small animal) on a window sill, bathroom ceiling vents almost completed plugged with grimey lint, mold / mildew in showers, filthy wall switches, splatter of food (?) on radiator in kitchen, well established layer of grime on front & side panels of refrigerator, interior of refrigerator worse - filthy & stained, filthy lamp shades, couches covered with multiple blankets - both the blankets & the underlying couches were dusty, stained, and filthy, ironing board is stained & dirty, numerous mattress covers on our bed (6) - we were to nervous to check actual condition of the mattress, spider webs (along with their residents) and very well developed cobwebs throughout the house (including across the artwork in the family room, dead bug smeared onto door frame, dusty / musty odour throughout. There is zero evidence that a professional cleaning service has EVER been in this place. With respect to the ubiquity of filth and grime in this house, the request to remove our shoes seemed hilariously unnecessary. Thirdly: The house is in a state that could be described as gravely deficient. I don’t have space to adequately describe. I have fully documented (photos & video) - I have all the evidence.

Misrepresentation
This home needs to be removed from VRBO. It was not clean, there was on odor in the home. We found hairs in the beds it was very run down. I have always been happy w the homes we have selected. This was not good and we left the same day we were to be starting our vacation. There was nothing close and we had to go get a hotel to have our vacation. The right thing to do would be to refund us our money but realize that will never happen. If vrbo plans to keep this home on then they need lower the price dramatically. We respected removing our shoes but stepped on wet stuff and dirt. We did not expect luxury but tattered towels and worn bedding. The host who greeted us was kind man. We just felt upon exploration this home was not well taken care of and was misrepresented on the VRBO site. We have always given rave reviews and unfortunately cannot for this location. We do not want anyone else traveling to the UK to book this location

Great property for our extended family and the bedrooms and common rooms were superficially clean but the place needs a thorough “spring cleaning” Flatware and dinnerware was put away dirty, probably by a previous user, and we needed to wash everything before we used it. The tops of friges and hobs were a bit greasy, sills we’re undusted, corners of rooms hadn’t been vacuumed in awhile. These are not big issues but we’d been traveling for a month and it was annoying to arrive at a kitchen that was not in top shape The owner in very conscientious and I’m sure will take care of these issues.

I was born and raised in London but have also spent time in other countries travelling and working.

I am a lawyer by profession but also enjoy baking and reading. I currently live in London again after some time away.

I love to travel and experience other cultures. I welcome everyone and appreciate diversity. I am blessed with a diverse upbringing and appreciate diverse backgrounds. Everyone is welcome!

I love London and would also be happy to share tips on places to see.

Why they chose this property

The neighbourhood is a vibrant and diverse area of London popular with young professionals and families. There are many restaurants, cafes and grocery stores just round the corner and the public transport is great so you do not need a car to get around. One of London's best parks is also in the area, Finsbury Park, where you can see swans and other birds in the pond.

The neighbourhood is a very popular part of London due to its family friendly restaurants and 24 hour grocery stores. It is known as Little Istanbul due to the quality and number of Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants that have been established here for many years. There are also some traditional English pubs and trendy bars nearby.

It is also a short walk to one of the largest parks in London called Finsbury Park which has a boating lake, running track and tennis courts. It is also not far from Alexandra Palace for those who might attending events there.

It is also easy to travel to central London due to the number of buses and the nearby Manor House underground station and Haringey overground station.

It is a safe and vibrant area which gives a glimpse of London life whilst the property is surprisingly quiet.

What makes this property unique

An amazing house with lots of natural light and also very quiet and spacious which is rare for such a central London location. It can accommodate up to 16 in 6 king beds with 2.5 bathrooms, large kitchen and dining, living room, back garden and laundry facilities.

Very easy to travel to the tourist sites (King's Cross 20 minutes, Oxford Street 25 minutes) but also a great area with lots of restaurants and shops.

Superfast WiFi, Netflix and all you need to have a great stay!
