The front door opens into a double parlor (living room/kitchen). This space is the social scene of the house. 12' foot ceilings, heart pine wood floors, and plenty of windows to make this a very inviting area to entertain. After these two large rooms, the house becomes a little more private (bedrooms). The 12' ceilings and wood floors continue through the 2 bedrooms in the back of the house. The Master Suite is a one stop shop for getting ready. It includes a custom walk in shower, heated floors, large double vanity, and a laundry room built into the large closet. The back door opens onto a deck with a gas grill.

This house is a typical shotgun style floor plan which means in order to access the Master Suite, the guest will have to first walk through the guest bedroom. There is a door that separates the two rooms.

This unique neighborhood can provide a relaxing getaway (many spas and coffee shops), an upscale or laid-back dining experience or a shopping adventure. There's a wonderful wine store around the corner which offers free wine tastings on Friday from 5-7. We love perusing up and down magazine street and stopping at one of the many happy hours. Just take your drink "to-go" if you don't want to stop moving!

Getting around

Walk score is 94 out of 100! This area is a walker’s paradise — daily errands do not require a car. There is some amount of infrastructure for biking. The house is located Uptown. It is conveniently located half way between the French Quarter and Audobon Zoo/Park.

Other things to note

The living room has 2 sofas. One is a futon that folds to a double size bed (a little firm). 55" TV with a set top box that the guest can access their personal network accounts for example; Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.
The Kitchen has a large marble island great for entertaining. A 36" wide apron sink and a gas cook top with a convenient pot filler. All the basic cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. A Keurig Coffee maker is provided.

No matter what brings you to New Orleans, our home will definitely meet your needs and your expectations! We are blessed to have a home in this wonderful Uptown neighborhood and we are grateful that our neighbors support us sharing our home with so many amazing people from all over the world. We want you to make yourselves at home; however, we must insist that no parties be held in our home in order to respect our neighbors.
House Rules are listed in our kitchen on the counter next to the bulletin board. This is where you will find the Wifi code as well as all instructions you will need during your stay. I will provide you with the door code via text on the day you check in.

At checkout: Remove all sheets (not comforters) and start a load of laundry. Place all dirty towels by the washing machine. Load and start dishwasher.

Good location
The location was great. The property was in somewhat disrepair. Rotten wood on porches, a ceiling that leaked during rain, paint peeling off the side of the house. The home’s ice-maker was not working and we requested ice the evening we arrived. Received a text from the host the next morning saying it would be delivered later that day. I followed up at 5:30 PM to ask about the ice, was eventually delivered around 7:30 PM, it would’ve been very helpful to have a binder with highlights of the property and instructions for the TV which has three remotes. Host advised that the air temperature is adjusted with a nest dial on the wall, however, the host regulates the air/heat via her phone, that was inconvenient. There is a gentleman that lives in a small apartment attached to the home, which was not revealed until the day we checked in. He has no access to the interior of where we stayed, however, I think that should have been disclosed in advance.

Wonderful home. Great safe location.
Had a great stay at this beautiful authentic shotgun style home in a great location in uptown Nola. Many great restaurants walkable. Was nervous about off street parking but was not an issue even during Mardi Gras. Home was comfortable and had everything we needed. Will return for sure!

We really enjoyed being in such a great neighborhood and being able to walk to many of our restaurants. Fun shopping district too. Rebecca, our host was very quick to respond when the Direct TV didnt work and when we needed the heat turned on

Lovely home
We enjoyed our visit to New Orleans. The house was very comfortable with easy access to shops, restaurants and transportation. My only problem and it may have been mentioned was the fact that you had to walk through one bedroom to get to the next bedroom. It didn’t turn out to be a problem but I felt I couldn’t go out to the kitchen during the night.
