About this property

Historic stone house by the river

This unique bicentennial historic but fully renovated stone house is located in the heart of Vieux-Beloeil, the old and touristic part of Beloeil. Beloeil is a charming little town by the river, facing the beautiful Mont Saint-Hilaire. The house was an actual inn in the early 19th century, until becoming a summer house for family and friends of my ancestors, who lived in the red brick house next door. It is within walking distance of everything in Vieux-Beloeil, with many restaurants, terraces, cafés, bars, breweries, boardwalk, marina just around the corner. You can't ask for a better location in the area! :-)

***One thing to note is that the ceilings are a bit low on the 2nd floor, with the original structural wooden beams at about 6 feet high (actual ceiling are about 6'10"). But it's all part of the charm! On the ground floor they are standard at 8'. ***

Also note that the house is not on the water directly, the street separates the house and our riverside.

A Family Favorite
Of all the places we’ve stayed, this is one of our family’s favorites! Such a unique property. We fell in love in March, I can only imagine how even more lovely it’d be in the summer time. Located in walking distance of shops and restaurants, coupled with that beautiful view, you can’t go wrong with the Stone House. It has modern comforts and 200+ year old charm. The hot tub, fire pit, and indoor fire place helped to keep us cozy on brisk days. Our 7 and 3 year old boys have already asked if we’re going to come back for another visit soon. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us.

What a perfect home!
This house made you feel immediately at home. Every single gadget was in the kitchen, when you were cooking a meal. There were ample pots and cooking dishes for a proper, Christmas meal. The house is even bigger than the pictures demonstrate! The heated floors made all the difference on the cold winter days. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Family Getaway
Our family used this beautiful home as our home base during our recent visit to Montreal. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and many spaces for our group of 5 to spread out. We especially appreciated the sitting area of the 3rd floor bedroom when us “old” people needed a quiet place to relax before bed. Martin was quick to respond to queries and provided immediate assistance with a minor road bump. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Serenity with a view
Perfectly located on the Richelieu River, this centennial house captures the history of its town. Well appointed kitchen, updated bathrooms, plenty of seating room and close to anything you might need from grocery store to hikes in the mountain across the river. We loved the proximity to local pubs and restaurants and easy access to major highways. A great place to just unwind and relax by the fire pit at night overlooking the shoreline. We'll definitely return. Thank you Martin for making this a memorable experience.

Warm and inviting
We had a wonderful stay at this location, which was also an outstanding geographical location. It was a French getaway without having to go all the way to France! Everything was smooth from start to finish.
