About this property

Village House in the south of France: Languedoc

The house is more than 200 years old and originally formed part of the ancient town wall. It contains all the conveniences of a well-equipped home and easily accommodates six people. It is located on the main Square next to all the conveniences.

The house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and is furnished with a combination of French rustic furniture and modern amenities. We offer fresh towels and linens, guidebooks and personal recommendations for the region, essential travel items such as a hairdryer, computer, wifi access, electrical adaptors and a kitchen stocked with all the tools and food basics you'll need to practice making local dishes.

Our house is comfortably furnished to meet all your holiday needs, whether you want to use it as a base to explore the region or relax at home with some of the best food and wine in France. There is no swimming pool onsite, but there is a community pool nearby that welcomes visitors and beaches are within an easy drive.

Our French home is yours to enjoy and we hope you'll immerse yourself in French village life. We are always available by email and phone to help arrange your trip and our friends in the village can help during your stay if needed.

For a village of less than 5000, it has amazing access to doctors, dentists, allied health professionals and emergency personnel. There is a new pool with indoor and outdoor facilities, soccer, rugby, tennis and boules facilities.

A visitor recently commented that it is perfectly situated to all types of tourist interests: 25 minutes to the sea or the mountains; vineyards at the edge of the village; large towns and cities nearby; evidence of every historical period from pre-historic to modern; excellent biking terrain.

Major attractions are easily accessible, but the village also has everything you need to settle in and experience authentic French village life. We now have a local chef offering cooking classes, a local wine expert offering wine tours and an artist in a nearby village offering art classes. So, if Roman ruins, Cathar castles and medieval villages are not enough, then come and take advantage of personalized tours.

Servian is located 20 minutes from Beziers, 1 hour from Montpellier and 2 hours from Toulouse.

Fabulous
The house was perfect--we were 5 adults altogether, a couple plus 3. The house had everything we needed for a pleasant and rewarding stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, the house well laid out. Pleasant outdoor space as well. The neighbours were friendly, so too the village. I would definitely consider returning here--plenty more to explore and discover within easy reach of Servian. Thank you

We are a retired couple from Victoria BC who have lived part time in Servian since 2003. We love sharing our French life with visitors and helping them appreciate this part of France

Why they chose this property

We love the exposure high in the village with south east facing views over the countryside. We enjoy being in the centre of village life. The previous family had spent over seventy years in the house and had maintained it well. Another previous owner was Jean Aubagnac, a local artist whose works have hung in the Grand Cafe since the turn of the last century. We enjoy being the owners of the house with the historic plaque on it.
