About the property

Villa Kefalos, is set in a very tranquill location, on the edge of the picturesque village of Pessada. It boasts stunning views across vast olive groves, out to the 'blue azure' of the Ionian Sea and is dominated at the rear, by the incredible backdrop of one of the highest peaks in Greece...... Mount Ainos.

Within a couple of minutes walking distance, you will find unspoiled coves & beaches, and the small fishing harbour of Pessada.

Fully air conditioned, the villa is beautifully appointed throughout, has 3 double bedrooms with en suites, has large open plan living/dining areas, and a contemporary, fully equipped luxury Kitchen.

The whole ground floor leads out onto the sun terraces with stunning views across the valley of olive groves, out to the wonderful Ionian Sea. Externally there is an Al Fresco dining area, which leads to the extensive feature tiled patios surrounding our large 45m2 private infinity pool. The private gardens also house a large traditional BBQ & parking.

Beautiful Villa - Quiet Location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful villa - Spacious, modern, clean, well maintained and very well equipped along with a fantastic pool.

The villa is screened by bushes from the villas either side and affords a reasonable degree of privacy.

You can walk to the port of Pessada in about 15 minutes (all down hill) where there is a taverna at the bottom which does lovely food and has a great view of the bay. There are other tavernas but they are a short drive away. However there weren't any that we found disappointing.

When driving or by taxi we particularly enjoyed the Olive Lounge at Lourdas (taxi €40 return, 10-15 mins by car) and Gefiri at Trapazaki (€30 return, 10 mins by car). Also try Casa Grec in Argostoli and see the turtles in the bay they are usually always around the fishermen that are there.

Jim and Denise are lovely people who provide useful information.

We hope you enjoy Villa Kefalos - We did!

Very Nice Villa

  • 4 of 5

Just a few lines for Denise and James and to say thank you for letting us hire your Villa for 11 days. We arrived Sunday afternoon and found the property fairly easily, although We wouldn’t want to be looking for it in the dark as the Villa is off road and down a dirt track and is rather remote, there are several properties in close proximity, these are not a problem as the gardens are fairly well screened. The Villa its self was in a clean and tidy condition with a great pool. All 3 bedrooms were of a good size and everyone found the beds clean and comfortable. There were more than adequate

facilities available, kitchen appliances, sky, washing machine, Radio and Wi Fi. Also the Welcome Pack was also very welcoming.

We tried several of the recommended Tavern a ‘s /Restaurants listed in the Visitors Book and liked the ones up at Castle best, not only for choices and costs but also service. All restaurants that we ate in supplied good quality food. However be warned that if you eat at Waterways the local fish is very expensive.

We toured the island and enjoyed not only the drive’s but some of the small towns and villages that we visited.

To conclude enjoy your stay and explore, it’s all rather charming.

Perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

Lovely Villa - very clean, very well maintained and comfortable, great pool.

Villa owners - excellent - very efficient and very helpful - before and on our arrival.

Kefalonia - wonderful island. Outstanding scenery and beaches wherever you go.

Our family had a brilliant fortnight here. No faults / problems / criticisms.

Despite what was published in the British media about Greek bank / euro problems / getting access to euros before our arrival - we had no problems whatsoever.

Would recommend this Villa and the Island without hesitation.

Great villa, lovely location

  • 4 of 5

Villa Kefalos is immaculately presented with everything we needed. The first floor bedrooms have a wonderful terrace with views over to Zakynthos. The pool is very good, the infinity structure keeps it perfectly clear & clean everyday. We loved the beautiful little beach at Pessada, go round the rocks for the best bit with glassy sea, sand & rocks for jumping in. There's a little cafe above the port 'Sunset' where we had a great meal of souvlaki, with lovely views & loads of other good beaches & tavernas within a short drive. Despite the Greek economy being all over the news there were no problems at all. Kefalonia was as wonderful & welcoming as ever & Jim & Denise went out of their way to make sure we had a good time.

Great villa. Everything we wanted for our family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience from booking, through to leaving our holiday villa. James and Denise (who own the villa) were very helpful both before and during our stay. James answered all our queries promptly. The villa was immaculately presented on arrival and really well equipped. The pool and gardens were very well maintained, in fact the cleanest pool we have experienced. James and Denise left us to our holiday but couldn't do enough for us, whenever we needed help. Bedding and towels were changed twice in two weeks, and six additional towels were provided for the beach or loungers.

Important to note that despite the current economic situation, there were no issues that we noticed. Supermarkets were fully stocked, no problems with fuel availability (1.65 euro/litre at time of writing).

We would highly recommend this villa for a peaceful family holiday - but if you have a query....just speak to James and Denise!

Highly recommended! As good as it looks.

Don't worry about the financial situation – we took enough cash to last the week and felt very safe everywhere we went. The villa and pool are scrupulously clean, modern and well-maintained, thanks to their (English) owners who live nearby and are keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. The balcony has sea views and from the end of the pool you can see the mountains close by. Passada is a sleepy Greek village with very few cars (you will need one, by the way). There are villas to either side but they are well spaced and separated by tall oleander hedges, so the villa feels private. Just a short walk away are the village shop and two traditional tavernas, one attached to the local winery and the other overlooking the sea - the perfect spot to watch the sun go down. Beach-wise there is a beautiful unspoilt sandy cove within walking distance (though in the heat it's better to take the car then walk over the rocks). The sea is calm but as the beach slopes away quite quickly it's maybe not ideal for younger children, though there are plenty of family friendly beaches a short drive away. It has lovely views and is perfect for snorkelling with crystal clear water and shoals of silver tropical fish. We took a speedboat along the coast, mooring up and swimming into secluded bays, and drove to the top of Mount Aenos which had stunning views and a forest like something from the land that time forgot. The villa is just 10 mins' drive from three supermarkets, 15 from the capital and 30 from the airport - a great location.
