This is a simply stunning large (110m2) luxury top floor duplex chalet apartment with 4 bedrooms. It is only 200 meters away from the main gondola in this charming ski resort that is now one of the top 100 ski resorts in the world.

About Mountain Heaven

We own a small ski company and personally own this apartment in the wonderful village of Grimentz. We began the company in the French village of La Plagne Montalbert when our three children were very young. As a family we are passionate about the mountains and wanted to find somewhere we could enjoy year after year and to teach our children to ski. We eventually found Montalbert and knew we had found somewhere that would be special to us but as the company grew we looked around for a second 'special' ski resort and found the amazing village of Grimentz and so we purchased this apartment and regularly go there for holidays.

The village is amazing with stunning views, this property is right by the old village and we bought it because its interior finish is of very high quality but the building is clad in the old wood of the village so it combines a modern interior with the old looking exterior.

Grimentz is located in the Val d'Anniviers and is an unspoilt, mountain village. Winter: For beginners and intermediates there are high, varied runs on the open slopes above the excellent mid mountain children's nursery area of Bendolla (2,100m). For experts the off-piste terrain is first class: high (1,570m - 2,900m), East and North facing, snow sure and largely untracked. There are some good reds and a genuine black and a fabulous North facing itinerary route from Zinal back to Grimentz. The Valley lift pass also covers the neighboring resorts including Zinal which is linked to Grimentz by cable car. The total area gives 220 km of piste (Grimentz on its own gives 60km). Summer: Grimentz is a traditional farming village. Cows graze the high Alpine pasture - the mountains echoing with the sound of their bells. Glaciers flow into the beautiful azure Moiry Lake and there are exceptional walking and mountain bike trails.

Golf: Grimentz is one of the most beautiful and picturesque of the old Valaisan villages in the Val d'Anniviers region in Switzerland

In summer Grimentz is transformed to a delightful green haven with an abundance of mountain walks to suit all levels, 150 km of mountain biking trails , via ferrata for climbers, swimming pool, tennis and other outdoor sports.

The Moiry glacier is 20 minutes drive, just above the large Moiry dam which has cobalt blue waters. There is a weekly themed market in the village on a Friday during peak season

The capital of the Valais, Sion is about 40 minutes away from Grimentz. It is a delightful old city in the Rhone Valley which has numerous historic remains, including a 13th century castle, a late gothic cathedral and a 17th century town hall

There is plenty to enjoy in the region. Less than an hour away is Leukerbad – the largest thermal springs centre in Europe with several thermal bath complexes. Or in a little over 2 hours you can be sipping a coffee on the shores of the Italian lakes. Both Zermatt and Saas Fee are within easy reach.

There are also numerous vineyards in the valley to visit

For summer 2013 there is the Liberte freedom pass which is available free to all visitors staying in the region during June to October. This gives visitors free access to some activities and transport in the region.

Ski: The skiing in Grimentz caters for all standards but is best for beginners, early intermediates and off-piste experts. The ski altitude ranges from 1,570 meters (resort height) to 2,900 meters (the top lift). It is high, East and North facing and snow sure. The other resorts on the lift pass also offer great skiing with Zinal a short free bus ride away and St Luc again a bus ride away giving great sunny wide open pistes.
