Beautiful house in a good location
We enjoyed our stay in St Jacut de la Mer. A good base for exploring along the coast - St Malo and Dinard to the east and the beaches west - St Cast and many bays around Cap d'Erquy (not the town itself). St Jacut itself is more about locals cockling so not the best place for eateries (never managed to eat in the couple of places still open in September - closed some nights and full another) but La Gare at nearby Ploubalay is top notch (in the Michelin guide), and for mussels, the Vieux Chateux on the bridge in Guido was excellent.
Tides are amazing and the views from the house were always interesting, whether the tide was in, out, high or low. When high tide, great to swim in the main bay, just over 5 minutes walk from the house (when low, walks to the Hebehen Island really interesting).
For the house itself, its a quiet neighbourhood (certainly when we were there end of September), there are good, comfortable beds, great having an outdoor area, including shower (with hot water!) for cleaning up after beach walks. All the mod cons, plenty of crockery, etc., but no oven gloves, only one tea towel and no serving spoons, which seemed odd given the volume of other kitchen ware. Shutters in the bedrooms, which were great, but nothing in the main living area which is a lovely space, but when it was sunny, you can't block it out, so we'd often return to a furnace .... house is a modern design, so probably difficult to have shutters or curtains.
Overall, would definitely recommend.
