This is a lovely and cosy two floors apartment with original features, beamed ceilings, parquet and marble flooring in the Dorsoduro area with a private garden.
The house is composed of two living areas (one per floor), two bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub), a fully fitted kitchenette and a bedroom with a double bed. There is a double sofa bed in the living area on the ground floor.
Ca' Carmini is elegantly furnished and overlooks the garden around the house. It is peaceful and has great character.
The apartment is situated in the most wonderful area - 2 minutes from the Campo Santa Margherita, with its local community feel and its pleasant bars, only 5 minutes walk to the Zattere, the Frari or the Accademia. And yet, this is a little oasis of green and quiet. We loved letting ourselves in through the big old door, to the comunal courtyard and then our own charming private garden, which we sat out in every evening before dinner.
We loved it. A haven of tranquility, and with the small enclosed garden, perfect for Children. I would certainly recommend it to friends.....perfect too if you have a dog!
We stayed in this apartment in late April and it was wonderful. We were met in the apartment when we arrived (by water taxi - much cheaper options are available and the place is close to the road bus station). The apartment is clean, comfortable (as ever, not as massive as in the pictures but with plenty of space), well equipped and joy to stay in. There are even a few herbs in the garden to spice up any home cooking you want to do. We'd never been to Venice before, but couldn't have chosen a better location: it's perhaps 25 minutes walk from San Marco, which for us meant that we could get to where we wanted easily but that the crowds are far away. The local square was great, a nice buzzy atmosphere from the morning markets, through to when the school broke up when children played football and hopscotch, to the evening with gelato and spritz. I'd recommend it highly and would certainly be happy staying here again.
Property is in a great location in Venice, far away from crowds and near where the Venetian locals live. For a first time visitor to Venice, this property would impress you with the original Venice design. We found the property a bit tired, lacking needed cooking necessities, lacking a first class, clean appearance, and had real issues with mosquitos. Overall, an OK rental, but needs to some updating.
