About the property

Well equipped base for SKIERS and WALKERS with balconies & mountain views

Comfortable 60 sq metre apartment, enjoying a peaceful location on the slope below piste 'B' running to the Pleney lift . Six minutes walk from the village centre with its fast lifts giving direct access to Les Gets, Avoriaz and the entire Portes du Soleil area and its many winter and summer activities. The free 'navette' bus stops right outside the door. This spacious well-equipped "home from home" apartment benefits from views and balconies in all rooms and direct access to communal lawns.

The living area is bright and sunny with picture windows onto the balcony and slopes behind, plenty of comfortable seating, an extendable dining-table and a "bar" to the kitchen, so the cook is not excluded from the fun whilst having a separate space to create in.

The two bedrooms have balconies and large double beds which can easily be separated into twin beds. There are wardrobes, chests of draws and shelving creating plenty of storage areas in both rooms. There is a large sofa-bed and chest of drawers in the living room for additional visitors.

The bathroom has a basin with cabinet space, bath, shower, large heated towel rail and plentiful hot water. The loo is separate.

There is allocated secure garage parking on the ground floor, a secure ski locker with shelves for boots and helmets (though you may prefer to use one of the ski "depots" in the village), TV, Digibox (for free to view channels), DVD, Wi-Fi, MP3 speakers, wash/dryer and washing-up machines.

Conveniently sited for shopping and the many lively and traditional 'apres ski' activities in the village, this is ideal all year accommodation to relax in after an active day SKIING, SNOW BOARDING, WALKING, or whatever takes your fancy from the many winter and summer mountain sports available. SUMMER MULTI-PASSES available.

WINTER SKIING, SNOW BOARDING AND NORDIC SKIING:

Morzine offers direct access by fast lifts to the pistes of Les Gets/ Morzine and to the entire Portes du Soleil area. The new lift linking Linga and Chatel means the whole area is now easily accessible. All standards are provided for from green pistes to the infamous black "Swiss Wall".

For those with a car who want to explore a bit further you can get to Praz-de-Lys in less than 30 minutes. Chamonix, Megeve, Flaine and Les Houches (our favourite) are about an hour away. You can even be on the slopes of Verbier by 9.30 if you don't mind an early start! All the resorts have parking by their lifts so access to the slopes is no problem.

SUMMER ALPINE WALKING and MULTIPASS:

Morzine has access to beautiful walking areas directly from the village and from a number of nearby centres. Morzine Tourist Office can provide details of routes and accompanied walks. Guide books to walks in the Haute-Savoie are provided in the apartment - but please leave for other guests to enjoy.

The Portes du Soleil "Multi-Pass" gives you access to leisure activities - swimming pool, tennis courts etc PLUS chair lifts for just 2 Euro a day. See Morzine's Tourist Information site for full details.

About Helen Gent

We are Helen and Gerard Gent from Farnham in Surrey. We have two sons in their mid-twenties now living in London.

We fell in love with Morzine and our apartment in the summer of 2006. It was our first visit to Morzine and we were based there whilst Gerard and our younger son climbed Mont Blanc. The region's vibrancy and facilities in the summer combined with its well deserved reputation as a great skiing area ticked all the boxes for us. We use the apartment for several weeks both in the summer and winter, as do our sons, extended family and friends.

The apartment is very much a second home for us and we have furnished and equipped it to be a welcoming, comfortable base to return to after a day out on the hills, be that winter or summer. It is bright and sunny, has limitless hot water and balconies with direct access on to the communal grounds for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the views. The undercover parking lot is a great bonus, particularly in the winter. When looking for an apartment a peaceful setting was important to us, but so too was proximity to the lifts and village, so the apartment is situated in a quiet spot just a few minutes easy walk away from the centre.

The bright kitchen is well-equipped with a four ring induction hob, extractor fan, combined microwave/grill/convection oven, washer/dryer, washing-up machine, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, pressure cooker, slow cooker, fridge/freezer, ample pots/pans, crockery, cutlery, glasses, utensils etc. The living-room, with its sofas, rug and leather ottoman comfortably sits six and enjoys views and direct access to communal lawns from its balcony. There's a TV, Digibox for free-to-view channels, DVD, MP3 speakers, Wi-Fi access, a selection of novels, guides for walkers, DVDs and board games for all ages. The WC is separate to the bathroom . The hallway has ample space for ski jackets, outdoor shoes etc. (Please note our request that boots are not worn inside). The ski locker is conveniently sited by the stairway to the apartment. There's an allocated parking space in the apartment block's secure garage. AIRPORT TRANSFERS, LINEN HIRE and CLEANING SERVICES are available on request,

Everything you needed. Like being at home.

A lovely well maintained spacious apartment. Everything you need for cooking and eating at home if you don't want to eat out every night. Great to have enough comfortable seating after a day on the slopes, for all the party. Sound system speakers were a real bonus as well and good fast wifi. Ample storage in all rooms. Endless hot water.

Access to the ski slopes was good with the nanette stoping right out side the front door.

Will happily return to the apartment if coming back to Morzin.

Good location, comfy and great extras

The whole stay was lovely. Morzine Immobilier who handle the keys etc are great friendly and helpful. The apartment is spacious and clean and although its not been thoroughly renovated for a while is painted and decorated in a bright and lively manner. Loads of welcome extras such as DVDs, games, good quality cookwear, glasses etc which shows that place is well loved! Everything worked as it should. Balconies have direct access to the snowy exterior which the kids loved. Its close enough to Pleney lifts so that the kids were happy to walk. Shame the snow was lacking for Feb but you cant have it all. Thanks Mrs Gent!

Fantastic Summer holiday

Just returned from a 2 week holiday with my husband and 14 year old daughter. The photos do not do this apartment justice. There are 2 terraces and a balcony (as the property sits in the side of the mountain) - the main terrace has an incredible view over Morzine. The Lounge is very comfortable with 2 sofas which look out of a huge picture window at the amazing view. The kitchen was well equipped with the use of a dishwasher and washing machine. There are 2 roomy bedrooms with plenty of storage. There is 'under building' parking which kept the car secure.

The location is perfect. Its a short, few minutes, walk into the main town, the 2 main cable cars, the 'summer' sledge and the swimming pool complex.

The area is fantastic. We visited Lake Montriond which is stunning, did various long walks (including a walk and chair lift over to Switzerland), enjoyed the sledging and swimming complex. We visited lake Geneva to go kayaking and swimming and even drove to the chocolate factory in Switzerland (on the one rainy day we had). We spent our last day in Geneva.

As we were staying in Morzine we were able to get a 'multi pass' for 2 euros each per day (think this only applies in the summer though and is arranged via the agency). The multi pass then gave us access to all of the chair lifts and cable cars in the area, swimming pool complex and a discounted rate for sledging. The buses were free which meant we could walk round to other villages and get the bus back. The holiday therefore felt really good value for money.

Although we had a really busy holiday I came back feeling relaxed as the people working and visiting Morzine were really friendly and happy to chat with us. We visited Chamonix and although the scenary and the glacier is worth seeing, the place didn't have the same atmosphere as Morzine.

As you can tell I would really recommend the apartment and Morzine and I know that I will be back again in the future as we didn't get to fit in everything we wanted to do in the 2 weeks we were there.

Perfect!

We had a fantastic family holiday in Morzine with this beautiful apartment as our base. We were very grateful for the underground parking, keeping our car safe and protected from the elements. We arrived to a superbly clean, well heated apartment, again greatly needed after an 11 hour drive! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our two boys loved the place and were instantly at home on the large, comfy sofas. They also loved the fact that the balcony opens out onto a shared garden area for snowball fights. The location was very central, just a 10 minute walk to the intersport ski hire shop and Pleney bubble lift. You could even ski down to the apartment if you wanted to. Just brilliant, would highly recommend and looking forward to staying again.

Fantastic value for money.

We booked the apartment for six people, unfortunately, due to illness two didn't make it. The four of us who did were very impressed with the apartment. We have used many apartments in Morzine over the last 11 years. This was easily the best value for money. Although a bit of a walk from the centre, the benefit is that it is quiet. When the snow was good, we could ski right back to the door as it is just off the main piste back to Morzine. The apartment is fully equipped and very clean. The only recommendation to the owners was to supply a slow cooker. Would be great to come back to a chilli, curry or whatever after a days skiing. It has a great view of the surrounding mountains, great to wake up to. With two bedrooms it was more than enough for six people. Undercover parking is useful if it snows heavily, although we didn't get it this year. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Morzine either for a winter or summer break. We will definitely book it again.

Fantastic apartment in a great location.

This was the first time we had booked an apartment for skiing so were a little nervous. However we did not need to be as the service we received was excellent. Any questions we had were answered quickly and the instructions that went with the apartment were perfect. The apartment itself is better than the pictures imply, great kitchen and well equipped, the washing machine with three children was invaluable and the microwave combi oven was good enough to cook a small roast! The beds were very comfortable as were the sofas, good to be able to watch the Rugby on the Freeview satellite and the hot water lasted forever!

The apartment is in a fantastic location - you really can ski to the balcony and it is only a 10minute walk into the centre of town. If you don't want to walk there is the free bus, and the stop for that is right outside the apartment block, perfect if you have young children.

Overall I could not recommend this apartment highly enough, if I could give it 6 stars I would and I will return!

Once we have agreed a reservation we refer you to our agent in Morzine, Elodie, who takes payments and completes the formalities. She is also available to our visitors if they have any problems or queries during their stay, and can help arrange optional extras - airport transfers, linen hire, cleaning etc. Please note that Eodie will also ask for credit card details to provide a security deposit of 600 Euros. No payment will be taken unless damage/loss to the apartment is suffered.
