About the property

Pool is heated from April to October, 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6

Begur is a lovely old medieval town, which has many good restaurants and bars, with many chic boutiques. The villa, Les Tres Oliveres, is in an area of great natural beauty with a large range of leisure pursuits including diving and golf. It is also very popular with walkers and ramblers throughout the year. The villa is on a quiet road leading to the marine reserve of Ses Negres (2 minutes walk) between the beaches of Aiguafreda (10 minutes walk) and Sa Riera (2.3km) and about 5km from Begur. It has wonderful sea and countryside views and is fully furnished with many facilities. It consists of a kitchen, 2 living rooms, a sun room / dining room, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms (one double and two twins - one of which has an en-suite wetroom and French doors opening on to the shaded outside dining area and sofa). The balcony is accessible from both the main living room and the sun room, both of which have great sea views. The shaded outside dining area has a BBQ and is just up from the heated pool (8m x 4m).

Diving, Walking and Golf: This area really is one of the best areas in Spain for Scuba Diving. I would recommend Octopus Dive School www.octoscuba.com. They are really friendly and their customer service and care is excellent. They dive from Aiguafreda which is 2 minutes drive from the house. If you haven't dived before, they can also give you a try dive - it's a great safe place to dive with loads to see. The marine reserve called Ses Negres, is 2 minutes walk from the villa, and is excellent for snorkelling, lots of fish to see in very clear water, but as it is protected, scuba diving is not permitted in this specific location. Please ask us if you have any more questions about this.

The Costa Brava is wild and rugged area with tremendous views and scenery. It has great walks and 370km of marked paths which are maintained by the Baix Emporda Tourism Committee.

There are 9 golf courses in the area including 2 championship courses

How to get here: From the UK, you can get Eurotunnel or a ferry from Dover to Calais. The drive time from Calais is 12 hours. Otherwise, most budget airlines such as EasyJet, Ryanair, BMI baby, Thomson and Jet 2 fly in to the airports of Girona, Perpignan and Barcelona. Girona airport is 45 minutes and the others are less than 90 minutes drive.

Any more questions and feedback: We really want you to enjoy your time at our villa and will be more than happy to answer any other questions that you have. After you come back, we would also appreciate any feedback on what you liked (or didn't like) with any suggestions on how we can make your stay with us even better next time.

About Sian and John Evans

We bought Les Tres oliveres in 2002 and renovated it to our own needs and taste. Our two children were very young at the time and we made changes to suit us as a young family. The location was perfect but we needed a pool and a grassy garden which is what we built.

We have rented out the villa since 2003 but love spending time at the house - the area is quite special!

Sian and John Evans purchased this villa in 2002

Why Sian and John Evans chose Baix Emporda

We think that the large number of positive reviews reflect what the place is like. Please have a read of them and you can see that they are from every year from 2006 to this year, and from people from many countries in the world.

We want you to enjoy your stay and will do our best to care of you, from before you book until after you leave - ask us anything and we will tell you as it is.

What makes this villa unique

The valley is quiet even in high season, and the pool and garden are private and not overlooked.

Wherever you are, there will always be better views, but the views from our place are rather nice!

Here is some serious stuff.....

We are happy to accept booking and payment through the Homeaway website. Homeaway will charge you an additional service fee of between 4 to 8% of the cost of the rental. They will also charge us up to 2.5%. There are some benefits for you in using this system especially the Homeaway 'Book with confidence' scheme

We are also happy for you to book direct with us and accept payment directly from you, by electronic transfer from your bank account to ours.

To be fully transparent, this will cost us nothing.

Please call us on +44 (0) 7547 276 812 and we can talk with you about the options and pros and cons to help you decide.

Our villa is called Les Tres Oliveres and is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the Costa Brava, Spain on the small coastal road between the coves of Aiguafreda and Sa Riera. The Costa Brava has a rocky coastline, plentiful in coves, secluded beaches and little fishing villages. Both Sa Tuna and Sa Riera are right in the heart of this coast and recognised as being two of the jewels of the Costa Brava, and both are 20 minutes walk along the coastal path from the villa. Aiguafreda is less than 10 minutes walk.

Salvador Dali lived near here in Cadaques, and the Dali Museum in Figueres is only 45 minutes drive.

Both the Cap Roig Botanical Gardens and the Greco-Roman Site of Empuries are worth a visit and and are less than 30 miles away.

Girona is 45 minutes drive, the French border is just over an hour north and Barcelona is 1 hour 40 minutes.

Other Activities: The area is superb for diving and only 10 miles from the Medas Islands. There is excellent snorkelling at Ses Negres, just 2 minutes walk.

Our house is registered with the Register of Turisme de Catalunya (RTC) and the reference is HUTG-010325

We prefer payment through electronic bank transfer from your bank account directly to ours, which may cost you significantly less than paying via the Homeaway website. To be totally transparent, this also costs us less too.

However paying through Homeaway may give you more protection - see their 'Book with Confidence guarantee'. Please call us to discuss how these options differ so you can consider and weigh up the risks before you decide.

If you decide to book our villa, you will be booking directly, and dealing directly with us, the owners. You do not pay for a Property Manager 'middle man' if you book our villa.

We will contact you as soon as you book to answer any other questions that you may have, however small.

Notes:

  • The pool is 8m by 4m & 1.8m deep, and heated between April and October inclusive. Although it is in direct sunlight from first thing in the morning until early evening, we decided to heat the pool as it used to quite cold before July & after September. The temperature is usually about 25 deg C dependent on ambient temp & use of the pool cover at night. We provide you with a comprehensive 'Welcome Book' which contains all the information you need, such as restaurant reviews, directions to beaches, local markets and towns, and children's activities. The TV has UK terrestrial channels together with many others The 'Den' has a sofa with seating for four, a large TV and an Xbox, - a great chill out room for the kids of all ages The 'Den' opens out onto the shaded eating area where there is outside sofa, a BBQ and a beer fridge. (beer and wine not included!) There is an outside rotary washing line for drying clothes
