A relaxing family holiday Villa (living space 95 sq M plus sous-sol of 60 sq M) with secure garden front and back only 500 metres from the beach built on the dunes at Stella Plage, the nearest village to fashionable Le Touquet. It was the family holiday home of the former French owners from Lille who built the property in 1966. The French character of the interior remains. We are 500 metres from the sandy beaches which stretch for 80km, the Villa is ideal for young families (with safe garden front and back) and particularly well suited for the elderly with own ground floor bed and bathroom adjacent. It is a close drive (10 mins) to Le Touquet, popular with the Parisians with its boutiques, regular markets, wide range of restaurants, hotels and casino. Visitors frequently say how relaxing and quiet it is here. The Villa is well equipped and with efficient central heating.and most comfortable beds. A rare opportunity to stay within a French community. The Villa is only 3 hours drive and train from the Dartford crossing via the M20 and Chunnel.

Well behaved Pets welcomed: Pet Terms:

There is a £50 surcharge per pet per week and we ask that pets be kept downstairs in the main room at nights and off the furniture at all times. The grounds are secure for dogs except very high jumpers. Pets can have the run of the back garden and front across both properties (respecting anyone who may be next door which will be family or friends to whom we say the same).

Full 'poop-scoop patrol' and pick-up required before departure and arrival of next guests who may well include young children.

To Pets from UK- Before travel: Pets traveling from UK to check first with owners and your vet that you have the necessary vaccinations - otherwise you will not be able to travel; or rather you will be able to travel there but you will not be able to return and the French are very strict with their checks as we know from taking our own dogs.

There is a [3] months' required waiting period between the time of the required vaccine programme and travel to France.

Assuming all is well to travel and you, O Pets, enjoy your holiday with your owner, you will need to visit the local French vet (to be checked and to have your pet passport stamped) between 24 and 120 hours before traveling home; we can direct you to the local vet in CUCQ (3 km away) for the necessary appointment. There will be the vet`s fee to be paid (about 35 Euro) so take your owner with you.

As a rule of thumb, we find it is only worth taking the pet if you are staying a minimum of a week.

Large Party -JULY/AUGUST Offer: If you are looking to share the summer holiday with another family or party for 2 weeks, we can by exception and subject to availability open up the adjacent property so that families can be next door to each other with use of the shared grounds. 12-14 Max in total over the two properties depending on the number and sizes of the young.

The Villa has everything you need for a FAMILY HOLIDAY of a week or two.

For the children, the largest room in the house, games and toys, a cot, high chair, stair gate, walking push dog, doll's house, table tennis table, secure garden and a beautiful beach. And of course, the Aladdin's cave (sous-sol).

For grand-parents, ground floor bedroom (away from the sun), a most comfortable double bed with bathroom and toilet adjacent and close to the living room. You are private but always close to the family.

For parents, space for the children and grand-parents ! A small but well equipped kitchen with new cooker, new fridge and bottle opener. A good family table indoors and out for meals. A large comfortable bed close to the children's room. Space for the car(s). A BBQ. The beach. Several local markets. Many places to see and take the family. You can be as relaxed or as busy as you want.

  • More than 6 can exceptionally be accommodated by arrangement upon the payment of additional rental depending on the circumstances. The young persons' bedroom is very large and spans the depth of the villa. It makes a popular playroom and is equipped with a dolls house and cuddly and other toys for the young and games for all ages. All bedrooms have blinds or shutters ensuring pitch dark if you like this which, together with the sea air, make for a really deep night's sleep. All mattresses are very comfortable.

The property is particularly suitable for the elderly with a downstairs bedroom with bathroom adjacent and close to the living room, allowing privacy and avoiding the need to climb the stairs. We also welcome well behaved pets. There is efficient and effective central heating making the property very warm in the cooler months. There is a large secure sous-sol (basement) described by guests as an 'Aladin's cave' of interest. The activity items are kept here. The Washing machine and dryer are available there for light washing, iron and ironing board. For heavy loads and if for any reason the villa's machines may not be working, there is a fast and reliable public 'lavagerie' (launderette') in the village of Stella. Living room is beside downstairs bedroom and bathroom and offers privacy suitable for granny and grandpa if needed. The fireplace is in the main dining room and is decorative only and not for use.

We have just returned from a fantastic week. Stella Plage was great. The beach was lovely, brilliant sand dunes and miles of sand! The cafe by the beach both the takeaway and sit in was great and ideal for our 23 month daughter when we needed something quick.

We enjoyed going to the markets in Stella Plage and ones near by. Le Touquet was a fun morning out. Stella Plage has everything you need from a fish mongers, butchers, boulangerie, wine and grocery shop and a supermarket.

The house was brilliant and exceeded our expectations. We are a family of four with two young children and we found it to be very child friendly. There is lots of space inside and the garden was perfect for our daughter to potter about. The equipment in the garage (bikes, bbq, table tennis, toboggan and more) was great and came in really handy.

We hope to return again at some point in the future.

Relaxing Retreat by the Sea

The cottage was in a really peaceful place a 10 min walk to the Sea where we walked our Dog and we all had a fabulous time. Stella Plage is cute with all you need there or Etaples is further inland where there is a bit more commercially.

The contained gardens at the cottage make it ideal if you take a Dog or children and inside it has lots of character and is well appointed.

Hugh was an excellent communicator and stayed in touch plenty of times prior to our stay and his directions to the cottage from Calais were impeccable.

We had a really relaxing few days in Stella Plage and would recommend.

Everything the family could want

A lovely house where the owners have really taken their time to make sure that everyone from babies to seniors has everything they need. A quiet area yet within easy walking distance of a long stretch of sandy beach with sand dunes at one end (ideal for the toboggan supplied by the owners). A similar short walk takes you to the Square with a lovely Patisserie for the morning bread and croissants plus mini-supermarkets, butchers, fishmonger, pharmacy,gift shop, restaurants etc. All in all somewhere you will certainly want to come back to. We have recently returned from a wonderful week at this property. There wer two adults, one teenager and two grandparents and the house worked wonderfully well for our party. The grandparents had the downstairs double room with toilet and bathroom, and the adults and teenager had the two bedrooms (teenagers bedroom could have slept four kids and a baby) and bathroom upstairs. The house was equipped with everything you need plus much more. The garage under the house contained bikes, kites, table tennis, footballs and much more including a giant wooden 'connect 4' which kept parents/grandparents and son entertained for hours!

The house is located on a quiet road with incredibly easy access to the shops and restaurants of the town and also the beach front. Did not need to use the car very often, only when visiting other parts of the area, as everything you need is on your doorstep.

The owners were extremely helpful all the way through the booking process. It is the first time we have booked independently and Hugh and Cathy removed any worries we had about this process.

We would highly recommend this house to anyone and thank Hugh and Cathy for helping to make our holiday a enjoyable and stress-free experience.

What a lovely week!

This holiday villa was a superb choice. The owners were very helpful and informative during the booking process and it was obvious from the moment we arrived that lots of thought had gone into setting out and equipping the house to make things easy and enjoyable for holidaying families, starting off with a most welcome gift of wine and pasta to get us started. Don't make the mistake of packing loads of beach games, deckchairs etc. like we did. There is more than enough of everything, mostly located in the wonderful Aladdin's Cave of a garage underneath the house. You name it: table-tennis, badminton, kites, bikes, toboggans, fishing rods, basketball - more than enough activity stuff! Nice little town and the villa is conveniently located for beach, shops, bars, restaurants etc. Also the journey from the tunnel is only 50 minutes or so which means we were there before we really got going. We will return!

Easy Break

The house is an easy drive from Calais (55 mins), the town has all the shops you need in walking distance & the beach is also walking distance. The house was clean & had everything you need for a week or so. We were 4 adults but you could fit 3 or 4 kids in as well. Nice bottle of wine & some pasta from the owners on arrival, very pleasant people. We had a good break.

In addition to the local sporting activity, the area offers great interest for a) Historians (Crecy, Agincourt, the Somme, Etaples, the Cemeteries) b) Artists (Etaples was renowned centre for international artists pre WWI), c) Ornithologists and d) Geographers. For the sporting, there is top golf at Le Touquet, indoor tennis centres at Touquet, Stella and Merlimont, horse riding (Le Touquet), children's beach park in summer (Stella), the beach, hiking, kite flying, sledging on the dunes, kite surfing, wind surfing, boat tours, sailing, fishing, land yachting . The Bagatelle theme park is a 15-20 minute drive away towards Berck. Other places of interest include Berck, Etaples sur mer, Camiers, Montreuil s/ Mer. Guests enjoy the chocolate factory at Beussent and many other pretty villages. Stella Plage itself offers several bars and restaurants, small supermarkets, a church, Sunday farmers market, gift shops, and special boulangeries, boucheries and a good poissonerie - fish is good value in the region.

Other Activities: Table tennis and badminton net on site. There is a children's club and sailing club on Stella beach.

Golf: LE TOUQUET golf club is about 3 km only away with two excellent 18 hole courses and a separate 9 hole course. Relatively expensive.

HARDELOT golf club is 20km away and also has two stunning courses. Relatively expensive.

NAMPONT ST MARTIN golf club is 30 minutes in the car just the other side of BERCK and offers much better value as does the LES DUNES course at FORT MAHON, a little further in the car again.

All courses offer discount for juniors and students, so take evidence of age or student identity to show at the course reception.
