The house is 220 m2, build in 2003 and perfectly positioned with panoramic views of the Esterel mountains. In the spacious garden of 5600 m2 you can enjoy the colour and ambience of this wonderful part of Provence. The house has two 40 m2 covered terraces, 2 high level terraces and a cascading swimming pool of 10x4,5 m. Spacious living room (72m2) with a fireplace and direct access to one of the covered terrace. Two stairs lead down to the dining room which is in direct connection with the kitchen and has access to terrace and outside stairs to the garden. In the dining room, a large rectangular oak wood table and chairs for 12 people . Fully equipped modern kitchen in modern style. The house has four double bedrooms, two with en suite bathrooms. All bedrooms have direct access to a terrace. The house faces south with superb views over the mountains, from all rooms. A villa designed for easy living and a great home base for exploring Provence and the Côte d’Azur.

About the Villa: We have recently purchased the villa and almost all the furniture, including the beds, is new. All bedrooms and the lounge are south facing and provide incredible views, especially of the sunrise over the Esterel hills! There are several sitting and dining areas inside and outside so you can choose whether you want to sit and eat inside, by the pool, on the terraces, or on the covered terraces. The mature garden has a variety of trees including olives, oaks and palms.

About the area: Villa Morell is situated in Pays de Fayence in the Var region. The Var is well located between the heart of Provence and the Côte d’Azur, a perfect home base for day trips to Aix-en-Provence as well as St-Tropez, Nice and Cannes. And the Var itself, a less touristy areas, is full of scenic countryside, charming villages, towns and interesting sights to explore. The area benefits from a mild climate and an exceptional amount of sunny days.

The environs of the lake St. Cressin offer visitors a multitude of activities from hiking, cycling and horse riding to sailing, canoeing or a more leisurely cruise on a pedalo. The new golf course of Terre Blanche can be seen from the house across the valley. The closest village is beautiful Montauroux, only 2.5 km from the house. Montauroux is situated in the east of the Var and at the border of the Alpes-Maritimes. Montauroux rises in tiers of altitudes from 150m to 400 m.

Other information: We provide pillows, duvets and bedlinen for all the beds together with hand towels, one bath towel and one pool towel per guest. The bedlinen and towels is changed weekly. The villa will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival. We have two childens beds incl. linen.

Perfect Residence

The villa was very spacious and well designed on the inside, beauitifull mediterranean on the inside. Beautifull view on the valley. The environment is quiet, though not far from the center of Montaraux. Kitchen was fully equiped for large families and everything was well organised. We enjoyed the BBQ on the terrace. We had a beautifull week. We are experienced renters of villas and we rank this one as very high quality.

Perfect Provence Villa

We enjoyed a fantastic week in May at the Villa, which is a wonderful place to stay.

Impressively set back in the hills just outside Montauroux, the views from the Villa are fantastic, with a private garden and pool area. The Villa itself is very well equipped and beautifully kept - the kitchen and dining area is particularly impressive, great for long French lunches!

Montauroux is a great little village with a few good restaurants and a plenty of Provencal charm. It serves as a good base to explore the many hill top villages in the area and the coast is within an easy 40 minute drive.

Having stayed in a few villas in the local area, we would highly recommend this Villa and Lasse, who was very helpful and responsive throughout.

Quiet, charming and very well equipped !

We spent three weeks in this house ideally located for resting. Perfect swimming pool surrounded by beautiful trees, plants and flowers.

Whatever the time of the day, there is a (sunny or shadowy) place to stay in to enjoy every moment.

Both exterior and interior equippments are of quality : the discreet service (housekeeping, garden ans pool maintenance) is efficient.

A final very positive impression about the huge kitchen and its modern and abundant equippment.

We can only recommend this house !

Perfect house for a family vacation

The house is "nordic" style and very practical with good bedrooms, lovely bathrooms and a very good kitchen.

It was very clean and tidy when we arrived, and everything was in perfect orden.

We would very much recommend this house for vacation for 6-8 adults and a few smaller children.

Amazing villa, beautiful surroudings....

We had 8 people staying in the villa - and all loved it. It is situated halfway up the mountain, providing a wonderful view when relaxing by the pool, or having dinner on the balcony. Plenty of space, catering of a variety of moods - from swimming or playing table tennis, to lounging by the pool or in one of the comfy sofas. The kitchen is modern, and well equipped, thus a pleasure to cook for so many people (also excellent barbeque).

There is a large lake (Lac de St Cassien) 15 min drive away which is very pleasant and has activities, also Cannes, Antibes and Nice within 40 mins drive for exploring/ beaches. To the north, Gorge du Verdon is within 1hr 30mins, one of europe's largest and most beautiful gorges, and has a number of activities (hiking, rafting, cannoning). It is well worth the drive and you can visit on a day trip.

You do need a car for this holiday to explore, but also village 30min walk away, and lots of hiking trails from house.

Would definitely stay at this villa again!

Summer in Provence

We were two families, 4 adults & 4 children and spent the first 3 weeks of June at this large villa providing comfortable, spacious accommodation and well equipped with almost everything one needs for a self - catering holiday.

The weather was perfect, blue skies and sunshine everyday enabling us to visit many hill top towns and villages as well as the popular tourist areas of the Cote D'Azur. Most evenings were spent relaxing in and around the pool, BBQ food & drinks aplenty, enjoying the peace and quiet of the area and stunning views across the valley.

Walking was not an option, car essential, local restaurants provide good food not expensive but one visit to the recommended Terre Blanc Golf & Country Club was enough, very expensive although the golf course was in excellent condition and challenging for the 4 golfers among us.

Overall we all enjoyed a fantastic never to be forgotten holiday and highly recommend the Villa Morrell as an ideal base for holidays in this region.

In closing, I have to comment on the one downside to the property which previous reviewers have failed to mention and that is the severe steepness of the terrain/ land the villa is built on making the large terraced grounds and gardens almost unusable other than the lawns and paved area around the pool.

The villa is located just five minutes drive from the hill-top village of Montauroux, which is situated just north of the Esterel National Park, in a region famous for its wine, olives and perfume. Yet the Mediterranean is less than 25 minutes away. Montauroux is one of five medieval villages the other villages are called Callian, Tourettes, Fayence and Seillans. We are 30 minutes from Cannes and 45 minutes from Nice airport. Opposite the house, on the other side of the valley, you will find the new exclusive 36-holes golf course Terre Blance. With the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Resort. The area is a wonderful combination of beautiful countryside, charming hill-top villages, and all the sophistication of Nice and Cannes.

Golf: The new and excellent golf course, Terre Blanche, is only 10 minutes from Villa Morell and several other golf courses are situated in the area.

The Domaine de Terre Blanche offers some of Provence’s finest courses in scenic surroundings and can bee seen from the house across the valley. Here two of the most beautiful 18-hole courses in Europe, a golf academy offering the latest technologies from Biomecaswing and a Michelin star restaurant provides the best opportunities for a unforgettable golf experience.

Within 35 minutes of driving there are another 10 golfcourses.

Ski: There are several skiing opportunities close to the house. The closest ski area is Gréolières only 45 km away.
