About this property

New Canaan-Great Fairfield County Location. Walk to Town. Walk to Train

Just a stone’s throw from New York City, Fairfield County combines the cultural richness of Manhattan with the beautiful country side of New England. Thirty miles of coastline stretch across the county’s southern border, providing idyllic scenes of coastline and beaches. Metro-North Railroad provides easy access to the energy and pace of Manhattan without the expense of Big Apple accommodations.

Walk just 10 minutes from Annie’s 1913 New Canaan Guesthouse to downtown New Canaan’s historic upscale shopping district and the train station where you can easily catch a train to New York City or visit Philip Johnson’s famous Glass House or eat at one of New Canaan’s world-class restaurants. Sit and read with a cup of tea on the Main Street facing porch or visit one of New Canaan’s many parks for a walk in the woods, a game of tennis or to fish and feed the ducks. Or, sit on the stone patio on the back and have breakfast while the kids play in the log cabin playhouse.

The Victorian Guesthouse is furnished with antique and comfortable vintage furnishings. The living room has warm wooden floors, an oriental carpet, a fire place and leather sofas and side chairs with lots of pillows, warm throws and a big screen television. There is a dining room that seats six as well as a granite counter top with three bar stools.

We have tried to make all guest bedrooms warm, charming and simple. All bedrooms are on the second-floor. There is a master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite marble bathroom with jacuzzi tub and steam shower.

There is a second bedroom with queen-size bed with hand carved flowers, mahogany desk, mahogany bureau and built in book case. The bedroom has plush carpeting. There is an en-suite private, modern bath with marble sink, marble floor and tile shower.

Finally, there is a third small bedroom with a four poster queen size mahogany bed and a crib that is available for guests who are traveling with children and wish to share one of the other bathrooms.

Kick off your shoes and prepare to retreat to your own personal sanctuary for a relaxing and memorable experience. If you love in-town living, Victorian Cottages and Antique Inns with antique and vintage furnishings, Annie’s 1913 New Canaan Guesthouse is perfect for you.
