Bright, open plan, modernised cottage with balcony, 1 minute to beach

Updated: 12-Nov-2016
3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 toilets, sleeps 6

Sarnia cottage offers spacious accommodation with open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wood burning stove and a bright sun lounge. The cottage has been recently renovated and decorated to a high standard. Fully equipped including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, TV and DVD. Patio for barbecues is a sun trap. There are two double bedrooms with new beds and a third bedroom with bunks. All have duvets. One bedroom leads out onto a balcony with sea views. Sarnia Cottage is one minute from the safe, sandy beach and causeway to historic St. Micheal's Mount. For cosy winter breaks there are storage heaters and the wood burning stove.

The area: Marazion has a sailing club and windsurfing school. Close by are the lovely towns of St. Ives, (the home of The Tate and many other Art galleries), and Penzance and there are amazing beaches around the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno and Sennen. Marazion is on the South West coast path, and there are stunning walks to be found nearby and around the Lizard and Lands End peninsulars. Penzance has an art deco swimming pool (sea water) and in the town are several Art galleries and two lovely parks.

Just ouside the town are Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons supermarkets.

In Marazion there are 4 pubs and several restaurants. 'Ben's kitchen' has only been open for a few years, and has an excellent reputation. The newly re furbished Godolphin has wonderful sea views, bar, and serves good meals.

About the Owner

I grew up in the village of Marazion, went to school in Penzance, and have always loved West Penwith. My 2 children also love Marazion, as do their partners and now my grandchildren. We all visit regularly, separately or sometimes all together!

Perfect Getaway Cottage In Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

We had a few days away in Cornwall last month and were delighted we came across Sarnia on the internet.

We chose Sarnia because we have visited Marazion on day trips before but have never stayed there.

We were not disappointed. The layout and style of the property were perfect as well as the location.

Only a minute from the beach the property offered everything you would want from a quaint period cottage.

The wood burner made it very difficult to leave house!

A Great Winter Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cottage just two minutes from the beach and the walk across to St Michael's Mount. Nice cosy lounge, super dining area and kitchen with everything one would need. All bedrooms a good size.

Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend, plenty of great eateries very close, and just out of the town The Mexico Inn was excellent. The walk to Penzance is worth the effort too. This part of Cornwall has plenty to offer.

Sarnia in Marazion.

  • 5 of 5

Sarnia is the perfect place to stay with family and friends, providing comfortable and ample accommodation for at least 6 people, plus babies and toddlers. In the summer the cottage is light and airy, in the winter warm and cosy, so a great place to stay in all seasons. We love staying at Sarnia in the heat of the summer to enjoy sunny beach days but also in the winter, when we enjoy the waves and blustery weather! We love visiting in spring too, with fields of golden daffodils to lift the spirits!

The location of the cottage is a real bonus, just a two minute walk to the beach and the local shops and galleries of the village. The surrounding area is magical, with beautiful beaches like Porthcurno, interesting towns like St Ives and Penzance and cultural amenities like the Tate in St Ives and the Newlyn Art Gallery. Marazion itself boasts a Post Office, a bakery supplying delicious pasties and many pubs and restaurants. For the younger generation, there is a fantastic play park near the beach, where my family have all spent many happy hours!

The cottage itself is always clean, tidy and well maintained, with pamphlets and guides on all the services available. The manager is friendly, helpful and on-hand if any advice or information is needed.

We would highly recommend a stay at Sarnia, evidence of this is that our family has been returning there for nearly 26 years! We can't wait to stay again!

Lovely New Year visit

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Sarnia for a family holiday, to see in 2016 - what a fabulous start to the year :)

The weather was wet and grey however the very close proximity of the property to the beach meant we could dodge the rain and enjoy some wonderful beach walks.

The location is excellent, walking distance to a number of local restaurants and pubs and also offering easy access to other places of interest; St Ives, Mousehole, Porthleven, Lands End, Penzance and Sennen, to name a few.

The house is a real 'home from home' spacious but cosy with good family facilities. We enjoyed a relaxing, restful week mostly thanks to the very comfortable beds and the fabulous sea air!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sarnia and hope to return in the future.

Sarnia was an absolutely perfect little cottage for myself, my partner and young child, with close proximity to the square and a very quiet surrounding. Count not fault it at all. Will definitely be staying again. All the best from Callum & Co.

Best homeaway ever!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sarnia! Susanna was really helpful in providing information about the cottage, its facilities, and Marazion. The cottage was fully equipped with a kitchen which was great for a family holiday. It is also literally minutes away from the beach and some of Marazion's best restaurants (highly recommend Ben's Cornish Kitchen!). I'm sure anyone would enjoy their holiday staying at such a lovely cottage :)

From the Owner

We chose Sarnia because it is adjacent to Tresco, which was the cottage I grew up in, now owned by my niece Jane (the two cottages can be rented together and would then accommodate 12).
