Lovely home in beautiful region
We had a great week at this lovely home, and made plenty of use of the great pool. It's a fantastic base to explore the Luberon area, being a short drive to Gordes and not far from Bonnieux. The house stayed fairly cool even in record heat

Wonderful place for a family get together
We had a wonderful week here - 7 family members, 3 generations. It is a very quiet hamlet, a small road bisects the property but it was not inconvenient as only 1 or 2 houses beyond. The house has rather formal furniture - OK for my kids in their 20s but would not work for young kids! Good kitchen with lots of crockery and cutlery, good stove, rather small fridge but second one in the pool area. The undoubted highlight was the pool and pool area. The pool is large and really very well maintained, perfect PH and low chlorine meant we could swim without goggles which is a rare experience. The pool area is a truly great place to spend the day, with its own fridge and BBQ area, and shady place where 7 of us could sit. Great proximity to Gordes, the boulangerie was only 5 minutes away. Area was very quiet. WIFI was down for our entire stay but it seems due to incompetence of Orange France who had been doing works in the area and connected the wrong cables - the owners were doing their very best to get it sorted, but Orange move at their own pace...

Two week stay at the Bergerie
We were looking for a clean private quiet house to sleep 8 adults comfortably, with big pool, in Provence and most importantly with character. After reviewing over 200 houses on the internet, and visiting over a dozen houses, we went ahead with the bergerie, which met all our needs. - Beautifully restored with local stones and thoughtfully decorated. Thick old walls keep inside of the house cool without any need for AC. - The pool is located in front of the house, looks across beautiful countryside, has fully operational barbecue which we used every day for lunch. The fridge made it convenient to leave our lunch groceries. The loungers and bean bags were really comfortable. We even made a point of buying similar ones for our own home. - The kitchen is well equipped. We did bring on our own kettle and tea cups as we drink a lot of tea. We used the barbecue in the front courtyard in the evening, conveniently located outside of the kitchen. The big ou dinner table outside made it convenient to fit all of us. - The beds are comfortable, and the linen was beautiful. - There are hiking trails that start right outside the house, which we used on a regular basis. Some of them bring you along the vineyard and other farming land, while the others bring you to the top of a hill where you can enjoy beautiful views of the region. - While the house does have neighboring homes, we barely saw or heard anyone. The “hameau” (group of house) was incredibly quiet during both day and night times. - The village of Gordes is 10 minutes drive away. We went to the boulangerie every morning, and it did not feel like a whole mission but a quick drive up the road. Plenty of restaurants within few minute drives. - The house and pool areas are sheltered from the mistral (local wind). Two things to note: - I would not be comfortable bringing children to the house as there are too many valuable (and breakable!) decoration pieces. - The inside lounging area is limited: We were 8 adults, and while there was plenty of seating space available, there was no lounging area per say (e.g. couch). That did not bother us too much as we were outdoors most of the time. Overall, the bergerie is an incredible property. Everyone who came to stay with us was impressed by the décor, the location and the quietness. I would definitely happily recommend this location to anyone looking for peaceful and quiet typical Provence house in beautiful setting. Incredible vacation! Merci!
