Zeytin Agaci (The Olive Tree), pronounced 'Zaytin Aarjer', is located amidst olive groves overlooking Kalkan with spectacular views of the Mediterranean, Taurus Mountains and coastline. It is perfect for those looking for a tranquil holiday retreat. Local shops, bars, cafes and restaurants are only a few minutes walk from the villa: Kalkan's picturesque harbour is less than a ten minute stroll. The villa is built on four floors and has its own private swimming pool, set in a sunbathing patio. The accommodation comprises two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms (all with air-conditioning) plus three sofa-beds for additional flexibility. Two bathrooms, a separate WC and a modern kitchen (with dishwasher and washing machine) complete the interior which is stylish and comfortable. There is a flat-screen TV with satellite reception, DVD player and wi-fi. Simple white walls and marble floors give a cool and airy feel on hot summer days. Ample outdoor spaces include a ground floor terrace, the pool area and a panoramic roof terrace all combining to provide total flexibility - ideal for families or friends sharing.
Inge is Dutch, Jerry English and the boys between the two...
Inge Gray purchased this villa in 2014
Jerry's dear school-friend Ed bought the villa off plan, and we started visiting every year shortly after it was completed. We fell in love with it and Kalkan, and when Ed decided to sell, in we dived.
The location is spot on: just out of the bustle of town, so high enough for the wonderful views. Most importantly, it is a five minute walk into the town centre and all the wonderful restaurants, shops and bars. Therefore, not too strenuous a climb back and no need of car or taxi. Aperitifs on the roof terrace cannot be surpassed! It is spacious and comfortable, with swimming pool, BBQ, aircon in each room and wifi. It also sits between two olive groves, affording more than usual privacy. And we have lovely people to look after you during your stay.
I recently stayed at the beautiful Zeytin Agaci in Kalkan, It was the 3rd time I had stayed here. The villa is set up the hill a short walk away form the main town.
You will find the villa equipped to an excellent standard with everything you could need to make your stay comfortable.
The pool area was the main focus of our stay. A Superb pool with sun beds, tables and the imperative sunshades. The pool and the area around it is cleaned early morning, every day ready for you to enjoy. When the sun moves off the pool area in the very late afternoon, then the roof terrace is perfect for catching the last of the evening sun with a cooling drink before dinner. The views from here are absolutely stunning. Watch the boats come in as the sun sets behind you and you listen to the Iman calling the locals to prayer. Such atmosphere.
Dinner can be taken on the terrace, a lovely area with table, chairs and a sofa. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. But don’t just stay in to eat, there are many good places to eat in town and a visit to the Moonlight Terrace restaurant is absolutely essential. Os and his family will serve you marvellous traditional Turkish food and welcome you as if you were one of their own, while you enjoy the views.
The villa is immaculate, clean comfortable and safe for the children. I would thoroughly recommend Zeytin Agaci to Couples and families alike. Families taking the usual precautions around the pool with young children. There are some steep hills around Kalkan so it may not suit the elderly or less able. Do hire a car and explore the beautiful coastline and lovely towns in the area. The perfect holiday at a superb villa.
We are recommending this villa to friends and colleagues. Inge recommendations were faultless. I would add that it is a MUST to go for a swim in the morning at the Kulube and then had lunch in the restaurant (public beach next to the Kalamara beach)
Ismail attention was superb and his restaurant has the 2 nd best view... the first one is at the terrace of the villa!!!
We ll remember this holiday for long time...
This beautiful spacious villa delivers on all aspects. 4 large bedrooms, a picturesque pool area and a balcony with breathtaking views are just a few of the villa's highlights.
The local shop is just a 5 minute walk away, as are a number of bars and restaurants.
The local area has a little something for everyone. There are a host of great restaurants and bars by the harbour. Again they are a short walk from the villa.
The sandy beach is a short taxi ride and the beach club (equipped with trampoline & jet skis) is a 10 minute walk away.
All in all, I would recommend the villa & the destination to anyone. The locals are friendly & welcoming & there really is something for everyone. I will definitely be returning.
This is a very comfortable, well equipped and well maintained villa, a short walk from the port area of Kalkan with a great choice of places to eat and drink.
A delightful villa in beautiful surroundings
First time in Kalkan, first time at Zeytin Agaci and what a brilliant place to visit! Everything you could ask for!
A short stroll away from the main village, the Villa is the perfect destination for a sunny retreat. The roof terrace has flawless views stretching from the hills, to the village and across the bay to the Med... the ideal setting to catch the late evening sun. Inside the villa is immaculate, comfortable and spacious. Enough space to have your own retreat whilst the dining terrace and pool area are ideal for groups to relax in the sun with a cool drink.
If you can pull your self away from the amazing views of the villa the short stroll into the main village is well worthwhile. The locals are charming and friendly (especially Dee at the Lime Restaurant) and make you feel welcome and at home. If you wish to try the local Trukish food the Menemen is a must, along with any of the daily caught fresh fish (particularly Cupra!). After dinner drinks by the harbor is a must, Trio a particularly relaxing (and lively) venue where you can watch the world go by and the staff go out of their way to please!
If late night drinks are your thing Mojito and Chocolate are lively enough to keep the youngsters happy with a great mix of locals and visitors in attendance.
All in all a fantastic Villa paired with the ideal location for a sunny getaway! Kalkan has something for everyone and I will definitely be visiting again! A big thank you to Inge and Jerry for sharing your beautiful escape with us!
Myself and a group of friends had a lovely week in Kalkan at the Villa Zeytin Agaci. The villa was very clean and spacious, with amazing views from the roof terrace.
It is in a great location, just a short walk away from a good selection of restaurants and bars.
The weather was amazing, with the private pool and local beaches offering the perfect place to relax and take in the sun.
The enchanting harbour village of Kalkan, with its own sand and pebble beach and a number of beach clubs with various watersport attractions, is one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's stunning Lycian Coast. With the complete absence of mass tourism, Kalkan remains a charming and unspoilt haven with crystal clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality. The many places of interest nearby include the gorge at Saklikent, the architectural site of Xanthos and the sunken city of Kekova. A 15 minute drive from Kalkan is Patara; an 18 km stretch of golden sand where turtles lay their eggs at night and the site of a Roman port with attendant wonderful ruins, including a complete amphitheatre and triumphal arch. Just behind Kalkan are the mountain villages of Berzigan and Islamlar where wild tortoises are seen during the Spring and the only traffic jam will be the goat herds. There are trout farms in the hills where you can choose your fish for a delicious grilled lunch. Visit Kalkan for the first time and you will quickly fall in love with its old-style charm and gentle rhythm; it is unlikely to be your last visit.
