Great place to stay.
Was thrilled with this property. We were up there for duck hunting and was a great place outside of town to stay so we had som privacy and very quiet. Place was clean and as advertised. Would stay here again! Hosts were amazing! Thanks so much.

Cozy, comfortable, and welcoming!
We had a delightful time at Pipestem Creek. We rented both houses for a family reunion. Both homes were comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the rural location. And we especially enjoyed seeing a moose each day as he roamed the nearby fields! We highly recommend Ann’s properties. We realized after we arrived that we had been there before when she sold edible bird feeders and houses! Collette the caretaker was delightful and helpful. Thank you so much!

About the host

Hosted by Ann Hoffert

Host profile image
My father purchased this property in 1945 when he started farming. My father was a self-made successful businessman. He was prominent in North Dakota politics. I was raised on the farm along with one brother. After graduating as a nurse from UND, I went to San Francisco for a couple of years and then to Vermont. I later returned to ND to enroll in the Nurse Practitioner program at UND. While in ND, I met my future husband. In 1986, my husband and myself and our 4 daughters moved to the farm and into the home in which I grew up. My parents lived partially in Texas and partially in our home town of Carrington, 10 miles from the farm. I continued to work in my profession until I started Pipestem Creek, a wholesale manufacture of hand-made edible birdfeeders. We had great marketing success, leading to my filming a segment with Martha Stewart. Since Pipestem Creek stopped manufacturing the edible birdfeeders, we have developed Pipestem Creek Bed and Birding. The gardens on the farm are a focus, providing a beautiful and serene setting for guests.

Why they chose this property

We put in a huge effort to keep the gardens and grounds beautiful. Also, walking trials through apx 40 acres of farmstead provide a venue for birding, exercise, or just the quiet enjoyment of unspoiled nature.

What makes this property unique

Peace, quiet, and beauty.

We are in a very rural area. Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge is just about 5 miles away.
