A stay at Triangle Farm Cottage includes breakfast items that are sourced from the local area. We subscribe to the 100 km food challenge, trying wherever possible to source produce from within a 100km radius. We have our own hens, the pork for the bacon is grown locally and cured by our butcher. Mushrooms are grown locally and any fruit and vegetables we try and source what is in season, locally. Apple juice is from the Beechworth area and the relish is made locally here in Jindera, the honey is from Glenellen, just down the road. The muesli we prepare and bread is sourced from the Milawa bakery or Nord Swedish bakery in Albury.
The cottage is only 2 km from the village of Jindera which has many amenities including a supermarket with liquor, chemist, bakery, butcher, post office, bank, take-away shops, pizza, a coffee shop and hotel with bistro.
The village is also home to the award winning Jindera Museum, a collection on 2 acres displaying the living and working conditions of the pioneers of the district. It incorporates the original Wagners Store, the home of the store owners furnished in the style of the period, an authentic slab hut, a wattle and daub cottage, a blacksmith and wheelwright shop, a gallery and extensive machinery and horse drawn carriage collection.
Jindera is also within 16 km of the city of Albury and it's Victorian sister Wodonga. Within close proximity is the Hume Weir, well known for it's boating, skiing and swimming activities. Also within the local area are many wineries, great food adventures, snow skiing and the renowned Rutherglen wine district.
