About this property

Welcome to Falling Waters Colo Vale. Colo Vale (colloquially known as the Vale) is situated North of the Historic towns of Berrima, Bowral and Mittagong, 5kms from the Hume Hwy and 125km from Sydney CBD.

The beautiful Southern Highlands is one of the most unique places in NSW. The Highlands are renowned for its history, stunning scenery, wines and pies.

If you are looking for a romantic weekend, quick getaway, quiet escape in a stunning location, Falling Waters Colo Vale has everything you need. A fully self contained log cabin with open fire, luxury king size bed, kitchen for all your needs.

Richard and Deb are your hosts along with Brent and Mykala and our 4 fur Goldie’s. They are often wandering around the property, extremely friendly and rule the roost, there are 14 chickens and 4 sheep and we also have resident Wombats which come out late at night if your lucky you might see them! There is so much abundant bird life we just take a guess on what we can hear and see, Kangaroos also pop up for a visit every now and then.

There are NOT a lot of shops near the property, Hill Top which is 5kms up the road which is closest has a Chinese Restaurant and is open most days, the Bakery which also makes chicken, pies, pastries etc, a Newsagent, Post Office and Bottle shop, there is also a take away shop which has really nice Pizzas, there are brochures for you to browse in the manifest in the kitchen. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets in Mittagong and Bowral.

As an added bonus we are located 15 minutes away from the Southern Highlands wineries and all that the Southern Highlands has to offer.

Falling Waters Colo Vale is situated on 35 acres, if you are into walking/hiking there are several walking tracks on the property you are free to walk around but we ask that if you have a pet with you please keep your pet on a leash due to the fact that the property has a lot of bush and wildlife.

The property has 3 creeks running through it with a large gorge down the bottom of the track with some small waterfalls. However is a bit overgrown at the moment with no direct access.

The luxury log cabin is a home away from home and is positioned for privacy from the main house an offers comfort and parking availability.

Great dog friendly accomodation. Rustic cottage.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the bush setting. Pity it wasn’t cold enough to have the fire on. Lounge comfortable. Has Foxtel but no wifi. Kitchen a bit small if you like to cook. Small fenced area attached to house so easy to toilet the dog. Host helped with fixing gas for hot water. Nice bath tub. Air conditioner and extra blankets available.

Cosy and convenient

We used Deb’s stage an overnight stop to break up our trip with two babies and our dog. It was perfect! Fenced yard for dog to stay in, beautiful bathroom and cosy fire place. We will definitely be staying here again on our trips south to see my in-laws.

Seclusion in the treees

This was the perfect place to bookend out south coast road trip. Close to all things southern highlands. Beautifully quiet at night, clean and spacious. Many thanks to our thoughtful hosts.

Perfect central location

Five sisters travelling the south coast. Falling waters was the perfect place to start and end our adventure. The self contained cottage was perfect and our host was most accommodating of our late arrival. Can recommend this lovely place where it’s so peaceful and quiet at night and you’re greeted with little fairy wrens in the morning

My husband Richard and I have 2 children Brent and Mykala and our 2 Golden Retrievers Bella and Sam are the resident fur kids. We foster for Golden Retriever Rescue and regularly have another foster in tow. We have 14 Chickens and 3 sheep, we provide our guests with fresh eggs.
