About this property

House nestled in the tea trees

The North wing of the house fills with natural light in the morning through the large West facing windows and the front deck is a great spot for a morning cup of tea.

In the afternoon, have a bbq on the East facing back deck surrounded by tea trees to the sound of birds chirping and waves crashing.

St Andrews beach itself, is under a 10 min walk from the house

The house consists of two living areas, two decks and four bedrooms. We have a toddler, so there is a cot (BYO cot linen) and some children's toys that guests are welcome to use.

There are reverse cycle air conditioners and and fire places in the living areas, We also have portable oil heaters and 5 fans throughout the house to ensure that guests can be as hot/cold as they desire.

The kitchen is functional and well appointed with crockery, cookware and utensils to be able to cook for a large group. We also leave some basic ingredients in the pantry so that you don't have to buy everything.

The beds come with linen and bath towels and there is shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathroom for guest to use.

We try to make you stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible and hope you love the place as much as we do, this truely is a relaxing place to escape to!

Property as illustrated on the ad. A good deep clean is required but good quality beds and sofas. Kitchen and bathroom a bit dated. Large grounds for kids to explore but very overgrown so unable to play with racquets or balls etc. For such a spacious property that sleeps 8 people one bathroom is not ideal but caused us no issues since there was not 8 of us staying.

Look elsewhere if you would like a clean house and uninterupted stay.
The house is unkempt, dilapidated and unpleasant to stay in. At check-in (3pm) the house had not been cleaned - dirty linen, towels, plates rubbish. The cleaner had not been. The cleaner arrived at 4:30pm by which time I had cleaned the house myself and changed the beds (we bring all our own linen to all houses due to allergies). When I contacted the owner about this his response was "I hope this is ok". We were interrupted a further two times - lawn mowing during the kids naps and another cleaner at 8am on the day of our checkout. A pattern of disregard for their guests. I requested a refund of our cleaning fee in good faith and received a nasty and withering reply. The owner threatened me "leave a bad review and I will leave a similarly bad review of you as a guest." So I expect a poor response to this, but future guests need to be warned. The house and these people are unpleasant to deal with. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere.

Escape from Lockdown 5
Sufficed awesomely for a quick winter escape from the big smoke, yard is beautiful, and very close to beach and hotsprings. Rooms were clean, and many lovely spaces to relax. Only negatives were that there wasn't a single full length mirror in the house, just a short one in the bathroom, and at least three lights in the main dining/kitchen area were shot. Also had to go on a small hunt for a secondary towel, as there was only one provided on the main bed. Despite this, would probably come back again, just with a group of friends/family get away to get the most out of the price, and in the hope these small issues would be fixed.
