About this property

Goose Crossing studio unit 15 minute walk to the beach

Minimum booking 2 nights/maximum stay 5 nights. Please note: I don't supply electricity for electric cars. Before coming to Lorne please check the Lorne Information Center where you can top up.
Goose Crossing has been accommodating people and dogs since the early 90's. We choose to take dogs because we love them ourselves. Goose Crossing is a small studio only for SINGLE or TWO people and only ONE small to medium doggie. NO EXCEPTIONS. You must disclose that you have a dog coming with you. (Unit size is 4.5 x 3.5 meters) with a little bit more to nestle in the queen bed). This does not include the bathroom.
The studio is in the village of Lorne situated in a quiet garden setting where a few parrots and roos can get quite friendly. The deck (4.5 × 3.5 meters) and a small pocket of garden are fenced together for your dog. Fencing is 4 foot high. If your dog can jump over 4 foot, it is not dog proof for you. Even though the studio is small it has all your conveniences... a small kitchenette, heating/air conditioning, TV, DVD, BBQ and wifi that is fairly reliable and deck furniture. The main street of town is only a 10 minute walk down the hill. We have a great dog beach which is 24/7 all year round! If you decide to book please remember to bring bath and beach towels/shower toiletries as they are not supplied. We supply bed linen. Our studio is built with second hand materials and furnished in a similar way. If you would like something modern, you might be disappointed. A two night minimum is required. Check out time is 10 am. If you want a late check-out, we will accommodate you if possible. The kitchen: is described as a kitchenette which means everything is scaled down. Our oven is very small and we have only 2 electric hotplates. Best to use the Webber BBQ outside inside of the oven.
There are an assortment of rules for your dog but they are reasonable.
1. Not on furniture
2. Pick up all doggie poos
3. Not left alone inside when you have gone out.
4. They are allowed inside when you are there.
5. Must have a toilet break before they come in the studio for the first time. (Dogs do like to leave their mark on new places.)
6. You MUST disclose you have a dog and what breed. If not, I can refuse to rent to you.
Other rules:
1. Air-conditioned/heating appliance is not to be left on when you have left the premises. My rates don't included this.
2. Please don't leave the outside light on all night. It shines into the neighbour's windows.
3. Make sure you read the recycling rules when you are staying with us.

Directions: Turn right on to Williams Street off the Great Ocean Road known as Mt. Joy Parade. Driving up Williams, take your 3rd left. (at the top of the hill) Drive about 60 feet (18.29 metres) and take your first right, which is Babington Lane and a 'no through road'. This short road (at the end) will take you veering slightly left to face a building where you cannot go any farther. Park to the right of the building facing you. The studio will be at the back right corner of the building with a sign saying 'Goose Crossing" and steps leading up on to the deck. Come in and make yourselves at home and we will catch up to you at some stage

Hidden gem
An absolute gem hidden away at the top of the hill on the edge of the forest. If you like to escape the busy scene on Lorne main street, this is perfect. Ideal for short stay, single living/kitchen/sleeping room with separate bathroom, and deck area. Peaceful and private, with lovely hosts.

We have had this property since the early 70's and have slowly built it up through the years. It has been a labour of love. Our buildings are all from recycled materials collected and restored over the years, which makes for a different atmosphere.

Why they chose this property

This is a quiet property and you can enjoy nature and the garden here on the deck with you pooch. The beach is only a 15 minute walk and the national park is across the street.
Would not even know there is a busy crowd down on the beach and main street. If this is what you want, it is for you.

What makes this property unique

A reasonable priced property that you can bring you best friend (human or dog). We are not mainstream in our approach to decorating our flat (using recycled materials) and our philosophy on life. We hope everyone that comes will have a relaxing holiday, enjoying not only the beach but the natural surroundings of our property and the bush and Lorne itself. We cater for couples/singles with your pet. Young children are not recommended as we don't cater for their needs and interests.
