About this property

Secluded, exclusive, totally private luxury villa overlooking the prettiest bay.

An exclusive two bedroom property, privately nestled in extravagant, lush landscaping. All completed with a 54' infinity edge pool overlooking the 'Narrows' to St Kitts and the gorgeous Caribbean Sea beyond. "As gorgeous as they are, the photos just don't do it justice" we hear time and again.

To truly appreciate the beauty and privacy of Coccoloba please watch our video. Go to the photo above and click the 'back' arrow, or simply find our website by searching 'Coccoloba' together with 'Nevis'.

Coccoloba is often referred to by Nevisians as having “the best view in Nevis”. And not just Nevisians, featured in Caribbean Travel and Life, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Liat magazine and Nevis Tourism brochures it is a show case of how modern architecture, materials and living can embrace traditional Caribbean design principles.

After you've looked around this listing, please visit our website for lots more photographs, video tours and information about this exceptional villa.

Completed in 2008, Coccoloba really is a sight to behold. A West Indian hip-shaped roof sits above plantation style teak verandahs covering an area of 3420 square feet. In addition there is an enormous pool allowing 54’ laps and providing a stunning 21’ infinity edge. Adjoining the pool is a further 1000 square feet of soft Jerusalem limestone deck. The whole property oozes simple clean lines and open spacious living areas.

Walk through Coccoloba’s front door and the first thing you notice is a breathtaking view of St. Kitts. Thirty two feet of bi-fold glass doors open up from the great room to give unobstructed views across the infinity edge pool, over ‘The Narrows’ and on to St. Kitts. You can even see St. Barts on a clear day! The kitchen and great room are open plan with honed limestone flooring, cypress vaulted ceiling, comfortable soft furnishings and every appliance needed for a modern kitchen. In the Great Room there is also high speed internet from both of the island's providers, cable TV on a 55" Samsung 4k TV. Music is provided from a Bang and Olufsen Beosound 2 system which you can Bluetooth to your own library.

Wake up in the king sized teak four poster in the master bedroom, open the automated curtains from your bedside and gaze over your feet through the 8’ glass doors at the Atlantic Sea. Turn your head to the left and look through another 10’ glass opening at the Caribbean Sea and the rising sun lighting up St Kitts. Large master bathroom with tub and both in and outside showers. The guest bedroom can be furnished with either a king size bed or two individual beds. Bi-fold doors from this bedroom lead directly onto the pool. Another large bathroom with in and outside showers.

The villa is surrounded on all four sides with beautiful Trinidadian teak decked verandahs. The west verandah is 14’ deep by 72’ long with dining table, sofa, chairs and chaise longue. Watching the sunset from this elevation of 270’ is amazing, especially when you are treated with the famous ‘green flash’. You will also find that the elevation deters the mosquitoes that are usually found at sea level.

The villa appears to hang on the edge of a hill overlooking Oualie Bay. It is set in 33,000 sq ft of landscaped garden at the end of a private road. Sitting back from the main island road and benefitting from the omission of adjoining neighbors, Coccoloba enjoys peacefulness and serenity. Turn off the verandah lights at night and watch the fireflies dance through the Coccoloba (Latin for ‘Seagrape’).

Coccoloba is perfectly located for enjoying the best of Nevis and the pretty Toulie beach is just 400 yards away. Lover’s Beach, Tamarind Bay, Cades Bay and Pinney’s Beach are all within two miles. A great choice of restaurants including Gallipot, Mount Nevis, Luna, Oualie Beach Hotel, Coconut Grove and Yachtsman’s Grill are also on the doorstep. Oualie Bay provides water sports including scuba diving, yacht charter, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and wind surfing. Take a water taxi over to St Kitts and enjoy a meal at the Park Hyatt or Spice Mill. All that Oualie Bay offers within a 10 minute walk.

Please visit our website Coccoloba.com for lots more photographs, video tours and information about Coccoloba.

Coccoloba is that special spot in the Caribbean that will help fulfill all your holiday dreams.

We Love This Place
We absolutely love staying here. This visit was our third stay and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Just a short transfer from St Kitts airport and you'll be relaxing in a very private setting with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea and St Kitts. Don't worry about getting from the airport and crossing the sea from St Kitts to Nevis as it was totally organised by Peter and Louise who are very reliable! It is a very short transfer - we made it in less than an hour. The villa is maintained to a high standard by the owners Louise and Peter, who are lovely people and are always happy to help with information, advice and even hosting a waterfall walk. The villa has everything required for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday including a large pool, great deck for sun bathing, a relaxing patio, seating area and a lounge with a large TV, Cable TV and a film/music library. The kitchen is also nicely equipped and there is a great barbecue. If you don't want to cook there are also a number of good restaurants and lively bars a very short drive from the villa. You really won't be disappointed staying here.

A week away in a villa which redefines magnificent
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this truly special villa. We last stayed here a year ago and despite this, when we arrived this year, we were still amazed at the sheer beauty of the property. The transfer to the villa from the airport was incredibly easy, everything being arranged by the owners. The villa itself was extremely clean and provided all of the facilities listed. It is in a brilliant location, with a couple fantastic restaurants (the Gallipot being our favourite) and Oualie beach within walking distance. The island has plenty to do, SCUBA diving, snorkeling and golfing being just a few of the things we enjoyed. The owners Peter and Louise are lovely and always available to answer any queries we had. I would definitely recommend this villa for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Nevis.

Best place to stay while visiting Nevis!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay while on Nevis. If you are looking for both flexible and an accommodating host; this is the place for you. Peter and Louise were by far the best owners ever and really provided our family with not only a breathtaking place to stay, but also to provide us with great knowledge in what to expect, as this was our first time traveling to both St. Kitts and Nevis. While enjoying the beauty of the island and all that there was to offer; we exceptionally enjoyed the quality time spent at their home. Our family are pet-lovers, so it was an extra bonus to have their community cat, TC, come and hang out with us at their home. I highly recommend their home for anyone seeking to have an adventure and be pampered! Thanks again for all the hospitality! Looking forward to next time!!

Paradise in Nevis
My wife and I had a perfect vacation at this property. What separates this property from the rest are the owners. Peter and Louise are wonderful - they are accommodating in every regard. They are meticulous in all of the details and genuinely care about their guests satisfaction. Guests are encouraged to sign a guest book before leaving which illustrates how much Peter and Louise care. We will be back!

About the host

Hosted by Peter & Louise

Host profile image
Louise and I visited the island for the first time in 2006 with a view to placing the island of Nevis in our top ten choices to build a vacation home. Within four weeks we decided we need look no further than Nevis and placed a deposit on a 35,000 sq ft plot.

I am a civil engineer and decided to take a sabbatical in order to pull together my own crew of Nevisians and build the house myself. By the time it was finished in 2008 the island had got it's hooks into me and I never left. Louise joined me and we have made a life for ourselves on the island. We have our own construction project management consultancy and I have a contractors licence on Nevis. Last year I finished the complete rebuild of Paradise Beach Resort to which I added five more beachside pole houses. We have also completed the construction of a series of vacation homes for owners residing in the UK, USA and Canada.

Why they chose this property

We put over a 1000 miles on the clock of our rental in just four weeks on this tiny 36 square mile island. We covered every realtors listing and searched every nook and cranny of the island. Eventually we found the perfect location, high above Oualie Bay overlooking the Narrows and St Kitts yet tight up to the coast line to give unprecedented views - but it wasn't for sale! Some research revealed the whereabouts of the owner and the fact that he had sat on the land for twelve years. A few phone calls later, a deal was struck and the plot was ours!

What makes this property unique

We are at the end of the private road known as Ridge Road. We have no immediate neighbours so while we are in the thick of the islands best restaurants, activities and beaches we are utterly private, quiet and serene
