Not a good experience!!!
Firstly, we arrived to find that even though the beds had been changed and fresh towels laid out, it seems that nothing else had been done. The place just hadn’t been cleaned. As soon as we walked in you could see that the kitchen worktops had crumbs all over it, the kitchen bin had not been emptied, the bathroom smelt of wee, there were toe nail clippings everywhere, presumably from the previous occupant! The whole place was dusty and dirty. Dirt and someone else’s socks left behind cupboards! The extractor fan in the bathroom had about an inch of dust and dirt on it and the windows and window ledge were filthy!
Reported the cleanliness to the owner, only to be told that his parents are the cleaners and generally do a good job! Although we did get an apology for the state of the place, that was about it, no offer of a discount or that he would send someone around to clean the place.
One first use of the shower, my wife found herself ankle deep in water and muck coming back up through the pipes, disgusting, but at least someone was sent to clean the pipes and outlet.
One last thing, it might have been considerate to let us know that there was building work taking place in the block. We were woken early nearly everyday by drilling, hammering and banging.
We were visiting family and friends, we had come from Wales, so not from just up the road! Overall not a good experience! Sort you property out properly for paying guests, it could have been so much better!!
