The native flora and fauna abounds here, which is a great opportunity to see Black Cockatoos, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Black Swamp Wallabies, sleepy koalas and waddling echidnas in their natural habitat. During the winter months you might be lucky to sight the whales during their winter migration.

Inspiring Views, unsurpassed comfort, a gourmet menu, wildlife galore and a centralized location on the Great Ocean Road. Chi Medicinal Farm is a must stay.

Relaxation and tranquility
What a place! Jo and Shane have created a beautiful sanctuary to stay in amongst the rugged coastline and rolling hills. For us, it was the little touches... The rain shower after a long days walk, the smells of essential oils from the natural products Jo has created, the amazing restaurant-quality homemade dinners and delicious desserts... Relaxing with a movie in the evening or watching the weather roll in. We feel so refreshed and nurtured. Thank you to you both.

A perfectly relaxing and peaceful stay
My partner and I had a wonderful night stay. Shane was welcoming, and so helpful. We ordered room service and the food and presentation was delightful. My favourite part was the amazing smell in the room and Jo’s homemade products in the bathroom. Thank you! We can’t wait to visit again when we need some quite down-time away from the kids!

Great Stay, Convenient, Jo and Shane are amazing hosts
Jo and Shane made our stay very relaxing, comfortable and made us feel at home in middle of the beautiful GOR. They are there to welcome you, make you so feel so comfortable and relaxed right from the moment you step in their property. Amazing breakfasts and dinners (we had their home cooked meal one night), highly recommended. They also gave us recommendations to visit a couple of places nearby which was really helpful. We felt absolutely relaxed, recharged and rejuvenated in the 2 days we spent at Chi Medicinal Farm.

About the host

We arrived in Glenaire looking for an opportunity to create another adventure in our lives. We came here on a holiday to “Find Our Chi”, and simply fell in love with the Old Bend Cafe and the surrounding area. Looking down from Castle Cove we sensed something magical… we found exactly what we were looking for.

Why they chose this property

[CHI: (chi/ ki/ qi) noun: “natural energy”, “life force”, “energy flow”]

Our inspiration behind Chi was to create a botanical oasis, a place where our beliefs and skills intertwined, a place where people could come to connect to the calming energy of nature whilst experiencing the potential healing powers of medicinal herbs, hence the name Chi.

What makes this property unique

SIGHT…of the forests of trees, gentle rolling hills, blooming plants, never-ending skies and the rugged beauty of the Great Ocean Road. SOUND…of silence, freely interrupted by the staccato of animals, native bird life, the whistle of the wind, and the roaring Southern Ocean. SMELL…of the purity of fresh, clean air with the occasional waft of lemon scented myrtle, native mint, lavender and eucalyptus…truly heaven scent. TOUCH… of the fertile earth as we plant, grow and harvest an array of organic food and medicinal herbs to use in our kiosk and cafe. TASTE… of delicious, flavourful and nutrient dense food. Locally grown x crafted with love.

At Chi Medicinal Farm we strive to integrate all that nature has to offer in the most respectful way. We grow and locally source the best produce available to us and then we handcraft our menus and build a holistic environment from scratch. We know this provides a healthier quality within that nourishes the mind, body and “CHI”.

Our vision is thoughtfully coming to fruition, and when you visit us, you will see us growing, like a seed that has been carefully selected, planted, watered and lovingly nurtured. Come join us on this journey, come and “Find your CHI”.
