About this property

Take a step back in time in this1860 cottage .BYO linen and towels.

Woiworung Cottage is a charming, early settlers cottage (1860), decorated and furnished to match its age. It features a wood heater, a reverse cycle air conditioner and electric heaters. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a stovette ( which has a small oven and two hotplates), microwave and fridge. Please note there is no freezer section in the fridge. The bathroom has a shower over a hip bath and there is an electric blanket to the queen bed. A small TV , DVD, record player with records and a radio make for a relaxing stay. Complimentary tea, coffee and milk and toiletries are included. A maximum of four people can stay at the cottage in a queen and two single beds. Your hosts live on the property in a separate house. Come and see the alpacas, pet sheep plus our adorable toy poodle. We can guarantee you will have a peaceful nights sleep. Please bring your own linen and towels ( bottom sheet, doona covers and pillow cases) Linen can be provided for $30 per person per short stay ( up to 3 days). Children are welcome. The cottage is heritage listed by the National Trust and is about to be heritage listed by the Heritage Council.

Please note the following at the cottage:
1. It was hand built by an early settler and the foundations are large stones. The floor is uneven in the bathroom.
2. Some of the doors frames are very low and could be an issue if you are very tall.
3. There is a possum (s) that live in the roof. We can't remove him/her/them as the roof space access will only fit a 3 year old child through it.
4. Three of the windows are openable, the kitchen window above the sink, the window in dining area and the master bedroom window. All have flyscreens.
5. There is no wifi to the cottage

Beautiful piece of history!
What an amazing stay! The cottage was warm and cozy and just delightful. The amenities were spot on and the bed was so comfortable. Also wonderful to be able to see the many alpacas in the paddock. We will be back!

Review
Very quaint old style cottage with a good historical vibe. 3 35-45yr old men were very comfortable as we were only in area for a wedding. A little remote but that didn't bother us as we had transport, amenities are still within walking distance (30-40 min,but we're ex ADF so...) Hosts were very friendly & kept us topped with firewood. There is some local nature areas very close if you're into birding. Overall very comfortable for a nice price.

Homely and peaceful
We found this little cottage cosy and comfortable and was close to shops. This 1850 home is decorated with detail to suit the period, and it felt like we'd stepped back in time. With the low price and tranquil area, the cottage was a great choice for our stay.

Great little hideaway
A quaint little cottage (circa 1870s) in beautiful Gisborne. Very comfortable, and authentically olde world accommodation. Would happily stay there again.
