About this property

Clyde River Retreat (Didthul Cot)

Nestled along the upper reaches of the Clyde River (the cleanest and most pristine waterway in Eastern Australia) lies the Clyde River Retreat – a haven of beauty, peace and tranquility. The perfect place to stay if you want to visit Pigeon House, The Castle or any of the other spectacular locations in Morton National Park or Budawang National Park.

We have 3 cabins for rent on 90 acres, for up to 14 guests.

Note that you do not need a 4WD just to get to the retreat, but you may need one to explore some areas such as the National Parks.

The Clyde River Retreat is surrounded on all sides by State Forest and National Park, kilometres from the nearest neighbours (other than the native wildlife) it is a perfect place to get away from it all.

With over half a kilometre of river frontage, the retreat is perfect for fishing or swimming in the Clyde river, bush-walking in the local forests, or for use as a launching point for exploring the surrounding national parks.

For artists, writers and musicians, the retreat offers something unique – an unspoilt environment and a simple lifestyle that will recharge your creative energies and enrich your artistic endeavors.

The retreat has three separate cabins that can accommodate up to fifteen people – perfect for special-interest groups who need a place free from all distractions from the outside world.

Or for anyone who just needs a place of unparalleled privacy and seclusion, to de-stress or de-tox periodically.

Didthul Cot

This listing is for the Didthul Cot - 1 bedroom, accommodation for up to 2 people. The bedroom has a queen bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen, open plan living/dining area, and a bathroom with toilet and shower (ensuite).

Other Cabins

See our separate listings for the other cabins on the retreat - the Carisbrook Lodge (3 bedrooms, accommodates up to 6 people) and the Budawang Cottage (2 bedrooms, accommodates up to 6 people).

Pets

We do allow some pets, but no cats please. Dogs are allowed but limited to one per cabin. They must be kept on a leash while outside on the retreat.

Other things to note

Our property is an intentionally rustic retreat - completely "off-grid", and in keeping with the natural surroundings. Our facilities may not be suitable for the elderly, the infirm, or for those with limited mobility. If you have any questions, please contact us to discuss before booking.

Nice cosy cabin
Nice cosy cabin in a very quiet and peaceful location. The 14km of unsealed road was no problem for our small 2WD. And it was not too far from the start of Pigeon House Mountain track which we wanted to do.

Peaceful and away from the hustle & bustle of the school holidays.
Beautiful place to relax and swim in the fresh water River that is crystal clear and Bass to fish for. Ross & Joanne were so helpful with letting us know the sites to see in the area and if you have any queries they are more than happy to assist. If you are looking to party this is not the place for you. It is so peaceful and great wildlife and 4x4 tracks.

Peaceful Nature Retreat
My partner and I had the most relaxing time staying at Clyde River Retreat. We drove up in unseasonably torrential rain and Ross was so incredibly helpful in insuring we arrived safely and had everything we needed. The place was so clean and cosy, with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Looking forward to staying again!
