Superb large and spacious apartment

  • 5 of 5

Our first impressions on the apartment was how large and spacious it was with well equipped kitchen and bathroom facilities and full laundry facilities. Bob was most welcoming and suggested a few places to visit during our stay and true to his word the places were amazing. We also enjoyed a wee dram or two downstairs in the foresters pub where we were also made to feel welcome. Cambusbarron is centrally located to travel to numerous tourist sites and only a short walk into Stirling. We really enjoyed our stay at the foresters and would recommend this to our other family and friends and I think it's safe to say we will be returning to enjoy the generous hospitality of Bob and his staff. Big thank you.

Fantastic Location and Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My family and I recently stayed at the Foresters and had a terrific time. The apartment was clean, large, spacious, quiet and well equipped. The location is fantastic - perfect for a day trip to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and St. Andrews. Also Stirling and it's castle is not to be missed. Bob and his staff were amazing hosts. Joining them for a pint in the evening in the pub was the perfect end to a day. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Scotland.

Wonderful place and great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time and the owner,Bob and his staff downstairs at Forresters were all so gracious! The apartment was large for our family of 4 and very comfortable with all the amenities you would need. The location was just perfect because it was really close to Stirling but you felt like you were in a little town! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Had a wonderful trip

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is centrally located, the property is very clean and comfortable. There is a pub downstairs that serves delicious food ond Friday-Sunday. If you are worried about noise you do not even realize the pub is there. Bob and Catherine are great. This is a true find.

The Perfect Introduction to Scotland

  • 5 of 5

We had a splendid week in Cambusbarron. The flat was even nicer and larger than we had expected (and we had ten people in our party). This is a fantastic location for exploring central Scotland. We enjoyed our time at the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, Dumbarton Castle, Loch Lomond, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and could easily have gone further on daytrips.

Having the pub right there was fantastic -- and the butcher across the street is excellent. With a playground around the corner, and a grocer across the street, we found Cambusbarron to be the perfect way to begin our time in Scotland. Highly Recommended

The perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

The property was an extremely great value! The cleanliness, location and the property owners availability to our questions and requests were superb. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Scotland as the location was very central and easy to drive to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands. The age of our party of 5 ranged from 38 to 68 years old and everyone had a great time. I will be using this apartment (if it is available) when I return in 2012!!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Edinburgh at 25 Miles Nearest Barpub : Foresters -friendly village pub at 10 Metres Nearest Golf : Stirling Golf Club at 1 Miles Nearest Train : Stirling at 2 Miles Nearest Motorway : stirling at 1 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Stirling at 3 Kilometres Nearest Ski : Glen Coe Mountain Resort at 80 Kilometres Car: not necessary

With its fantastic location you are only one mile from the Kings Park, hunting ground of Kings but now more often used for tennis, scatboording, kids adventure frames (new for 2009) and home to Stirling Golf Club.

You are now only minutes from Stirling and the Thistle Center the Marches shopping centers the Albert Hall, the Tollbooth, the Old Town Jail, The Church Of The Holy Rude and Stirling Castle.

The old town, which is situated in the shadow of Stirling Castle, has a very medieval flair. Here you will find numerous old buildings as you make your way around the town. Quite a few of them have significant historical importance - while others are simply a marvel to look at. Here you can quite literally 'touch history'.

Of course, the main attraction in Stirling is Stirling Castle. The castle is built on an easy to defend hill and it over looks the River Forth so it has seen quite a lot of action. It was home to the Stuart monarchs for many years. Today it has been partially restored to its former splendor and you may take a tour where you will see quite realistic models of people working in the kitchens which is fun for adults and children alike.

Among other attractions is Argyll's Lodgings - a 17th century townhouse - and the ruin known as Mar's Wark. Not far from this you will find the Church of the Holyrood. A little further down the hill you will find the Old Town Jail which has been changed into a live show tourist attraction. Here you can see how people would have suffered in the harsh conditions of a Victorian reform prison. Right across the road you will find Tolbooth - the jail which preceded Old Town Jail and in which up to 25 prisoners were sometimes kept in a single cell. Today Tolbooth is a music and arts centre. You may also wish to visit the Smith Art Gallery and Museum which is entertaining for visitors of all ages.

These are just some of the sights worth seeing in Stirling. This is a place where you can quite literally be transported back in time without even using your imagination. Why not see for yourself?

Ten minutes drive or by regular bus service visit The Wallace Monument, the McRobert Centre, Stirling University with the Scottish Center for Sport and amazing swimming pool with Stirlings own new pool to open in 2009

Highly recommended the Safari Park at Blair Drummond or immediately behind Cambusbarron the North Third Trout Fisheries.

Stirling was described as the gate way to the Highlands now within five minutes drive you can be on a motorway straight to Glasgow or Edinburgh or be on the main routes north to Perth or Glen Coe and Fort William or east to St Andrews.

Other Activities: Fantastic central location to paraglide in Scotland, happy to advise on best sites

Golf: Scotland boasts over 550 courses of high quality and great diversity with St Andrews, Muirfield, Carnoustie, Royal Troon , Turnberry and Glen Eagles all within easy reach.

If you like history with your golfin break, then Stirling is the place to go. Set below the castle parapets is an excellent 18 hole course.

Only a short drive, will take you to many worthy tests such as Dunblane

New.Bridge of Allan Golf Course, set above this delightful town, offers a climb on several holes but the vista over the Ochil's is just a reward.

This is an area of golfing education and Stirling University even has its' own 9 hole golf course built beneath the inspiring edifice of the Wallace Monument.

For a golf outing with a difference, try the Brucefield Family Golf Centre near Bannockburn.

The Falkirk area is a distinctive golfing region in itself and offers a variety of venues.

One of the best courses in the area is undoubtedly Glenbervie, scene of several amateur championships, very much a fine parkland tract secluded with lots of trees and a tendency to undulation.
