'Artistes Tresor' is a beautiful apartment in the heart of the old town with a large terrace and breathtaking sea view over the whole bay of Villefranche Sur Mer. Being in the best location in town makes it the perfect setting for a wonderful holiday. Enter the doorway of the house built in the 16th century and be uplifted by the view that is truly unforgettable. The local agent described the apartment, renovated by the artist owner, as 'giving the feeling of being in another poetic world'. Our guests return time and time again. Discover all that VIllefranche has to offer moments away. Great restaurants, the beach and sea a few minutes walk away and the village full of history and charm. The local shops are on the doorstep. With its micro-climate it is perfect here all year round. Without doubt this is one of the worlds most romantic and beautiful locations, within easy access of Nice airport. All Year Round: The location is perfect for a holiday any time of the year as the area has so much to offer and Villefranche benefits from a micro climate. Rue Obscure, which is one of the oldest streets in France runs under the apartment and is unchanged since the 14th century. Villefranche is the most charming and authentic town on the Cote d’Azur, nestled on the spectacular shores of the Bay of Villefranche, yet just minutes from Nice and Monaco. Still a genuine French fishing village with a wonderful local culture — yet also attracting a very interesting international group of visitors and residents, including students that attend the renowned French language institute called the Institut Français. This is a wonderful area for walkers with the coastal paths and the hills close by. For example there is a superb walk around Cap Ferrat (about eight miles). The American sixth fleet were stationed here during the second world war.

Villas and Gardens to visit: The unique micro climate has facilitated the development of world renowned gardens which are open to the public such as Villa & Jardin Ephrussi de Rothschild on Cap Ferrat, and Villa & Jardin Kerylos in Beaulieu sur Mer, both within walking distance. There are additional renowned gardens in the area of Menton.

Jean Cocteau Chapel and the Citadel: Jean Cocteau painted the interior of this most beautiful chapel on the waterfront. It has been recently restored to its former glory. Ville franche is a village full of art and artists.

Visit the ramparts of the Citadel and take the guided tour into the Sculpture Gallery and through the cobbled street of the old towns history. Visit the tourist office for details.

I found myself in Villefranche in 2002 for the first time. I was enchanted from the outset and saw my apartment on the same day I arrived. I decided to sell my house in London to buy it and knew that I would have to share it from time to time in order to pay for this expensive impulse......It is the best thing I have ever done. I hope you love it as much as I do!

I realised that the location and view of the sea was priceless. The uniqueness of the location and the age of the building is something that can't be replaced - it has evolved over hundreds of years. It truly is the best location in the South of France. It still retains it's charm due to the fact there are no big hotels around and about.

What makes this apartment unique

Being in a village is lovely with the sea a short walk away. It has everything. Restaurants, gorgeous walks, easy transport. I love to sit on my terrace watching the activity in the bay. The beautiful morning skies as the sun rises which you can see on my website. Watching the moon go down over Cap Ferrat. This is my great pleasure and relaxation in life. Sharing this with my guests keeps it all going.......

Just to let you know we had a fantastic time in Villefranche the best holiday we have had in a long time. The apartment and location was just superb and we would love to return next year. We went to Italy, Monte Carlo and obviously Nice. So if you could let me know what dates are available for next July that would be great. I really can’t say enough about the area and scenery. The children loved the beach and we just loved the history and the ability to travel so easy once there. So thanks again for all your help and for letting us stay at your beautiful apartment.

Notes:
There are wonderful food shops on the doorstop and there is a small supermarket three doors away. Everything you could possibly need is outside your front door. A car is not necessary as the public transport is excellent. We provide beach towels. I leave various condiments in the store cupboard as there is nothing worse than finding the cupboard empty when you arrive and having to buy just about everything. My kitchen compact and fully equipped with granite work surfaces.

Lovely spacious apartment with amazing views

The apartment was very spacious, nicely decorated and had amazing views of the bay. It was really nice seeing the very expensive yachts arriving.

The apartment was very well placed amongst the restaurants and I can't imagine a better location!

Sue and Mattie were very helpful arranging our transport and telling us where everywhere is and the best places to go.

Quick train ride to the Monaco Grand Prix.

Lovely apartment, perfect location for May holiday

This is a lovely, well equipped apartment in an interesting little town. The terrace is beautiful to sit out on and gets the morning sun. We catered for ourselves rather than eating in restaurants and found that we could get all the provisions we needed in the town - excellent greengrocer, butcher and bakers, fish on the quay and twice-weekly market. Villefranche is a lovely little town and well worth exploring. There are also excellent bus and train services to explore further afield. There are two beaches within a short walk from the apartment which were both good for swimming at this time of year.

Artistes Tresor, Villefranche, France

We had a wonderful extended stay at Artistes Tresor from late January to early February. The apartment is beautifully appointed with a lovely living and dining area, fully stocked modern kitchen, three comfortable bedrooms, two full bathrooms, complete laundry facilities, and a balcony with a breathtaking view. Everything from Wi-Fi to hair dryers is provided. The apartment is filled with sunlight in the morning, and at night the view along the bay twinkles as lights dance on the water. We were very comfortable in the apartment, it was quiet and very private. And we loved the location. Shops, restaurants, the train station, and the beach are just a short walk, and most areas of town are easily accessible on foot. This apartment truly is a treasure, a little piece of heaven in a magically beautiful part of the world. Thank you, Mattie for providing this amazing apartment.

"Artistes Tresor was fantastic"

Loved every minute of our holiday from the time we arrived at the Villa Sue was there to greet us show us around a very lovely & helpful lady. The Villa was perfect, location fabulous, Villa was spacious, clean & home from home in everyway, we go on vacation regular to Villefranche & will certainly be booking Artistes Tresor again very soon. Can highly recommend it. Must say the owner of the Villa, Mattie was most helpful in everyway helping to plan our holiday.

Beautiful apartment in a gorgeous location!

The apartment is gorgeous with such an amazing view of the bay. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean The apartment is spacious with two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is close to the beach with restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket on your doorstep. The train station and bus stop is just a short walk away and they provide transport links to everywhere along the coast. Sue the manager is really helpful and provided us with lots of local ideas and information and also arranged our transport to and from Nice Airport. We were a party of six and had the most wonderful week in Villefranche staying at Artistes Tresor, we would definitely recommend it, truly superb!

There is a 'Housekeeping fee' of €220 (euros)which is paid to the manager in cash on arrival. This is explained on my website www.villefranchevacation.com.
We also require a refundable security deposit of €500 (euros). This is returned in full within seven days of departure to the account of your choice.

WE OFFER SPECIAL RATES FOR BOOKINGS OF 2 WEEKS OR MORE IN LOW SEASON
(JANUARY TO MARCH) AND AUTUMN WINTER (OCTOBER TO DECEMBER)
PRICES FROM 2950 EUROS PER MONTH PLUS SERVICE CHARGE.

There is a housekeeping fee of €220 charged for weekly rentals and €500 on a monthly rental. Rental fee includes utilities and linens (cotton sheets, allergy free pillows-), towels, beach towels, kitchen towels. A security / damage deposit of 500 euros will be collected upon arrival in any currency convenient to you and returned prior to departure. Service charges are collected upon arrival in cash. We also leave a good selection of basic supplies (toilet paper, dishwasher soap, salt and pepper etc) so you don't have to immediately run out and shop when you arrive. There is secure wireless DSL that enables you to connect within minutes of your arrival, should you need to.

We hold a security deposit in cash of €500 euros or any equivalent currency as this is paid on arrival and refunded after check out.
For more than one week we charge a cleaning charge of 120 Euro per week. which includes laundry and thorough cleaning.

Guests pay the deposit in sterling and the balance directly to the owner in euros. Currency rate is set at the time of booking.

Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday apart from May during the Grand Prix. Note: We can occasionally offer five night breaks out of season.
