About the host

Host profile image
We are a family that left New South Wales and moved to the beautiful state of Tasmania in 1997. Everyone has contributed to the dream at our special place Falls River. The children who are now adults have helped make the mud bricks, sanded timbers and had many weekends swimming and enjoying the Falls.

Why they chose this property

The accommodation cottage sits on cliff face overlooking a waterfall. We purchased the land as a raw bush block and started clearing access to the building sites and then began a five year project of building a main house which now acts as reception, and then the construction of the cottage. Both the cottage and the main building are constructed of hand made materials, this was due to the rustic style we were trying to achieve. Our guests tell us they want to return every year. There are few place in the word that can accommodate a couple, be totally self contained, and walk 50 metres to the base of a wilderness waterfall, and experience nature at its finest. You will pinch yourself as you stand there and watch the flow of the falls or sit in the hot tub and listen to the sound of the water gushing over the rock faces.

What makes this property unique

The cottage has a floodlight to light the falls up of an evening . It is impressive to watch the different reflections and light tones.

Privacy and Uniqueness.
