About this property

The Apple - Heritage Home on 8 Acres

The Apple in Bridgetown is a relaxing get away - a gorgeous heritage farm house to call your own for a night, weekend or week. 3 hours drive south of Perth, The Apple sleeps up to 12 people. 3 bathrooms, internet, modern amenities plus old fashioned fun including wood stoves and open fireplaces.

The Apple is a 1920s family home on 8 acres of land on the Blackwood River, Bridgetown WA. 3km from the townsite.

It was once the farm house of a large apple orchard. It has a huge lounge room which in the 1940's hosted monthly dances.

Bridgetown is a gorgeous treasure in the south west. It's a small town located in a picturesque valley. The town centre is lively, with quality cafes, restaurants, wineries and boutiques. It has a long running annual Blue Festival in November, plus has many other art and culture events throughout the year.

It's easy to get caught up cooking, relaxing and never leaving the property, but it's close to heaps if you want to explore more.

The Kitchen/Dinning: The large open kitchen has a dishwasher, fan forced oven, gas cook top and wood stove.

The Property: The house is on an 8 acre property. Approximately 2 acres of garden that surround the house and include a playground area are for exclusive private use for The Apple guests. Feel free to explore the rest which includes an orchard, and head down the hill to find the Blackwood River.

Note: There is a caretakers cottage on the property also, which may be occupied during your stay. From January 2022 the property will be slowly transformed into a working farm, so there is likely to be some activity on the property. Please note if your booking is on weekdays there may be some power/garden tools used in daylight hours. We do our upmost to give you complete privacy during your stay.

When considering staying with us please be mindful this is a old country home in a rural area. If you're looking for all the modern comforts and predicability of a commercial hotel this might not be the accommodation for you. If you are after a genuine country experience with rustic charm, space, freedom and privacy we think you'll love our place. Being in a rural setting you may encounter more animals, spiders and bugs than the city, a lizard may give you a fright in the garden or you might hear a possum at night. Being an old house you may encounter the occasional imperfection, we are constantly making improvements but it is a 100 year old house.

Such a special property, with beautiful bedding and everything you could need on hand. Every bedroom has an ensuite. Tall ceilings, big spaces, gorgeous setting. Grateful for your unique and comfortable home. We really relax at this place.

Family get together.
We enjoyed our stay, but felt the level of cleanliness was disappointing. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, and not sure if disinfectant (ie bleach or other) had been used. The fridge interior needed a wipe down including the door. The microwave needed a clean also. The bbq drip tray was full and needs to be emptied. We noted when the reticulation came on in the garden beds (whilst sitting out in the decking) the there are a few sprinklers or drippers that aren’t connected and hence water just shooting up in the air. We love the homestead, gardens and trees, very relaxing. There was also a strong smell, we couldn’t determine whether it was a dead skink, rat, fertiliser on the gardens or the plumbing, as it seemed to be all around the house.
