This three-bedroom apartment sleeps 6, including a double sofa bed, the large lounge area leads onto a spacious balcony that receives sun from morning until night. A good size kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, hob and oven, toaster and all requirements for 8 persons. A small utility area houses the washing machine. Bedroom 1 has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, there is also a separate shower room. In the lounge is a television with a radio and DVD player. Linen and towels are provided and a cot is available to hire. This complex is fully wheelchair friendly and has elevator access to secure underground parking, there are sloped walkways throughout should stairs need to be avoided.


Golf and Bowls: Winter Garten is a bowling complex and our guests receive preferential rates and booking times at the on-site bowling lawns. Golf is available at Golf Del Sur, a championship course, which is five minutes walk from Winter Gardens. Amarillo Golf is only another ten minutes away.

Locally: Winter Gardens is approximately 10min walk from San Blas Square, which has numerous shops, restaurants, Internet Cafe, supermarket, chemist, cafes and bars etc. There is free live entertainment outside in the square at night. Closer to the complex, in fact just outside the entrance, there is an excellent Chinese restaurant, an Irish bar and restaurant, together with a Tapas bar and an International restaurant. There is a night-club across the road at Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean Club, and another in San Blas Centre. A lovely marina is only 250 meters away. Situated at the nearby golf club are a putting green, driving range and mini-golf. There is also a tennis court.

Out and About: Los Abrigos, a local fishing village with probably the finest seafood restaurants in Tenerife, is only a five minute drive, or if you feel inclined, just a further five minutes walk across the pebble beach from San Blas. Should you require something livelier, then Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas are only 10 min drive away. The Golf Del Sur is ideal for couples and families who don’t want the hustle and bustle of the big resorts and all the touting and safety problems that go with them. The local beaches are unsuitable for children being rocky with pebbles, and the more suitable beaches are at El Medano (5 min drive north), or Los Cristianos (10/15 min drive south). Other attractions include ferry rides to Gomera Island, Jeep Safaris, Whale and Dolphin safaris and submarine and glass-bottom catamarans. For the more active there is a Karting Club about 10 minutes drive away and at Playa Fanabe there is a 10-pin bowling alley.

Onsite now there is a care facility for elderly or infirm residents.

2024 stay in golf del sur
The process of check in was very smooth and they accommodated for us to checkin early which was great. The apartment was very tired and needs some TLC the bathrooms were very grubby. My opinion the apartment needs a deep clean and a makeover.

Avoid at all costs, do not book to stay here
The apartment is spacious but very dated with patched walls, ripped furniture peeling paint and a leaking toilet with a smell of urine. The beds were extremely uncomfortable with springs sticking through the mattress meaning the deckchair mats were used to try and provide extra padding. The kitchen was not fit for human habitation, it was disgusting. There were dried on mouldy food to dinnerware, pans, cups and cutlery, 2 teaspoons were actually welded together with mould. The fridge and microwave were filthy. There were vermin droppings under the sink and the cupboards inside were very dirty. We arrived at 9.30 pm and I had to go straight to Coviran which was open until 11 pm for cleaning products to make food, there was nothing open in the vicinity to buy food. It took me until 12.30 am before we could eat and I was up at 8 am the next day to scrub, boil wash and disinfect everything to enable us to use it for our holiday, which was even more imperative as we had a 4 month baby with us. This wasted a day of my holiday. I have never had to clean an apartment to this extent before using it and it should not be allowed to be rented out in the state, we paid nearly £2500 for 10 nights, so not cheap. We were promised use of the pool but there was no fob available and the person who had them was uncontactable by management. Some days residents opened the gate but on others, we received abuse for not having a fob, it was embarrassing. Similar reviews since 2017, but no change.

Spacious apt great location we played bowls so we were only 2 mins from bowling green ideal for shops, pubs, buses and great selection of restaurants and coastal walks and near airport large pool with plenty sunbeds would go back anytime

Less than impressed
The apartment met our expectations as in location close to all amenities and travel to other areas with lovely sunny aspect and large balcony. There were too many issues needing addressed the main one in my opinion being the neglect of the Caretaker whose cleaners made up beds with filthy mattress protectors on top of already disgusting mattresses. We were shocked. I washed them myself which caused a major power cut as the machine was faulty. Another machine was ordered which took ten days to come. In general the apartment needs new furniture and a new shower in guest bathroom. Floods every time used. I understand from the owner that she is unaware of these points and assures me she will be going in person to see for herself. I’m sure that if she does the apartment will reward her in the future.

Excellent location
Collette the owner of the property responds to any questions or requests almost immediately so the whole process was simple. The location of the apartment couldn't be better, its on the ground floor and overlooks the pool and part of the bowling green. The apartment had everything you could need, but to be honest in all the years I have been going to Golf Del Sur it is so cheap to eat out and there are plenty of options both in Golf and neighbouring San Blas that there isn't any point in cooking. Previous reviews have mentioned the towels being thin but we didn't find it a problem. All in all we found the property spacious and comfortable and we will be returning there very soon.

Why they chose this property

Tenerife is hot all year round. The Golf Del Sur is a lovely quiet area with all the conveniences of a village. Winter Gardens is one of the nicest complexes there. We climbed every ladder on the building site before choosing. Ours has the best location!
