About this property

Cosy cottage with an historic feel, in a park-like setting with rural views

Sutton Forest Cottage is found in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. This cool climate region is located equidistant from Sydney and Canberra (about one to two hours each way), and one hour from the South Coast. The area is known for its open gardens, the Tulip Time festival each September/ October, many award winning wineries and picturesque golf courses.

The cottage is located on a 2 acre block in the heart of the village of Sutton Forest, between the Sutton Forest Hall and The Everything Store and 50 metres from the Sutton Forest Inn. There are scenic rural views over the backyard into the large properties surrounding the cottage. Decorated with beautiful antiques, the cottage has an authentic heritage look and feel. A slow combustion fireplace adds cosy comfort in the winter months (and there is also a ducted heating/ cooling system for your comfort)!

Decorated with beautiful antiques, there are two uniquely decorated bedrooms, one with a breathtaking timber four poster queen sized bed and the other with a charming queen sized brass bed overlooking the backyard. The lounge room is furnished with a big cosy leather lounge suite where a large TV and DVD player are located. Many movies on DVD are available for your use. A slow combustion fireplace adds cost comfort in the winter months. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing any meal and the table in the sunny dining area can seat six people. The bathroom has a deep single person spa bath and there are full laundry facilities for your use. The timber deck of the back verandah is furnished with a timber outdoor table seating up to six people and a pair of Adirondack chairs to while away an afternoon with a book.

PLEASE NOTE: The cottage is not child friendly due to the antique furniture and some onsite dangers (an unprotected creek and farm equipment). Please be aware the safety of your children and any damage caused are your responsibility.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: The shower is over the spa bath which has a high side. There are steps and a grab rail to assist, however this may not be suitable for those unsteady on their feet.

Sorry, pets are not allowed at Sutton Forest Cottage.

Cute cottage
We had a lovely stay at Sutton forest cottage. It had everything we needed, fed the amazing variety of birds in the provided bird feeder, played games in front of the combustion heater. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Lovely stay had by all of us.

Great place to stay!
My friend and I booked the cottage for a long weekend away in August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kathy and Greg gave us a warm welcome as they stopped by on the first day, we had a lovely chat getting to know them and the story behind the house (very interesting!). They also had some great recommendations for around the area. The cottage itself was well decorated with great antique pieces, clean and comfortable. Thanks Kathy and Greg!

Lovely
Well presented property with quality linen and fixtures. Loved the fire. Sutton Forest is very quiet with a newly redeveloped pub, an antique store and a coffee shop/corner store
