About this property

Blue Gum Retreat- Stunning View and Cosy

This is the location where you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to! Yet if you do, there are so many activities in the area - cool creeks, Pilates at Bellingen Pilates, nearby beaches, eclectic shops, golf , horse-riding. No guest has ever wished they left earlier - in fact quite the opposite.

On site there are amazing mountain views and space to wander, chill or just relax. For the chefs there is an outdoor Pizza Oven; for some entertainment there is Table Tennis & a Trampoline, for cosy winter nights there is a Pot belly and a Jetmaster fireplace; and in summer air con and fans in every room are at your disposal.

Location - Blue Gum Retreat is positioned in pastureland with sweeping, stunning and close up 180 degree views of Dorrigo National Park. It is within walking distance to Never Never Creek and the stunning fig tree water hole where you can swim, fish or look for platypus. Blue Gum Retreat is a perfect getaway and you will not want to leave. Sit on the verandah or in the garden, bring friends, a book and a glass of wine and enjoy the stunning view of the mountains whilst the kids play on the trampoline, or table tennis; or simply doze whilst the abundant wildlife chirp away. This beautiful and spacious rosewood family home is in a tranquil setting, situated only 300m from Gleniffer Hall and Church and set back 150m from the road.

Activities - Enjoy bathing in the refreshing Never Never Creek - just a short stroll or bike ride away or use the house as a base for trips to local attractions.Thirty minutes to renowned Dorrigo Rainforest, International Bonville golf course and the pristine beaches of Sawtell and Coffs Harbour. Enjoy Bellingen's many eclectic cafes and restaurants or visit Bellingen markets with some 250 stalls, every 3rd Saturday of the month, and the Growers' markets - twice a month. Enjoy a Reformer Pilates session at Bellingen Pilates or organise Mat Pilates on site (subject to availability). Or just stay put and chill.

The house - Cool limestone floors throughout internally with sandstone slabs on the verandah, Stylish bathroom and ensuite with luxuries such as heated floors and heated towel rails. Open cathedral roof ceilings and large sliding doors & windows offering cool breezes in summer. Air conditioning and effective ceiling fans in every room; a huge Jetmaster open fireplace, Pot belly plus cosy faux fur rugs for cosy winter evenings . Fully and generously equipped kitchen with ample equipment such as a blender, a slow cooker, a fruit juicer, a bamix, coffee machines, sandwich toaster, top quality pans, pizza and baking trays. Savour the fruit from the Citrus trees in July/Aug; the Mulberry tree in October and the avocado tree from March to May plus an ample herb garden for your cooking. Beautiful jacaranda in October/November.

Configuration - Blue Gum Retreat is a single level home with 4 bedrooms with the number of bedrooms available according to the number of guests. In summary there are 3 kings (2 of which are split king) and 1 queen. The master bedroom, 'Mountain View One' at the far end of the home is large with a king sized bed plus a sofa bed and a walk in robe and air conditioning. 'Mountain View Two' and 'Mountain View Three' have a king bed that can be split into 2 long singles and a built in wardrobe; bedroom 4 has a queen bed and a built in wardrobe. All bedrooms have air conditioning. There are 2 bathrooms - the ensuite to the king room plus a separate bathroom with a shower and a bath. Both bathrooms have heated floors and heated towel rails. There is also a laundry with a washing machine & dryer, tub, 2nd tall fridge and 2nd tall freezer, ironing board and iron. Beautiful Linen/Towels are included though please bring your own beach towel.

Exceeded expectations
We are so happy with our stay. The property was just magical and we had the black cockatoos calling outside our window every single day. Such a special place. We will return.

Perfect setting for our family Easter break.
We were 7 adults and 4 children and found Blue Gum to be a comfortable, well equipped and well designed property with different living spaces, fun things to do for kids and adults and the most glorious views. I'd happily book it again.

A spacious, comfy and well designed garden and house with a knock out view in a perfect location.
We had a lot of fun at Blue Gum Retreat. We relaxed, read, listened to music, slept well and had fun together at the house and the surrounding area. We ate at home alot because of the fantastic views of the valley and mountains and outside furniture. Lawn games were fun on the lawn like bocce or Kubb. We also cooled off at the nearby Never Never Creek or a surf at at Hungry Head, a bush walk, or the awesome shops and cafes at Bellingen. We will be back!

Glorious
Can't fault it. The location is spectacular, beds super-comfortable with beautifully laundered white bed linen , the kitchen well furnished with everything you could possibly imagine, and there's space to get away from people if you felt the need (we didn't !). The outdoor furniture was also lovely and comfortable and endless hours were spent looking out at the magnificent view. There was a power outage (nothing to do with the property) and Alison was quick to respond with instructions on what to do. I loved it - what more can I say
