A wonderful, centrally located flat a one minute walk from Princes Street

This one bedroom apartment is located on Rose Street, which runs between Princes Street and George Street and can therefore boast a superb position in the very centre of Scotland's capital.

The apartment is on the first floor of a traditional building that was built around 1790. It is rated 3 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board and can accommodate 2 people very comfortably although this can be increased to accommodate 4 people by using the sofa-bed in the living room. The lovely sitting room has a 26 inch, wall-mounted, LCD TV which has multiple digital channels. There is a DVD player and hi-fi system (with DAB radio channels). This room also benefits from a remote controlled living-flame gas fire. The fully fitted, eat-in kitchen has quality appliances and includes a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The shower room has a mains power shower and the double bedroom has a large fitted wardrobe. Wifi internet access is provided.

Great location on Rose Street

This is a nice apartment directly on the Rose "pub street" that runs parallel between Princes and George streets. An easy walk to both bus and train stations. And just walk across one of the bridges and one can quickly access the Royal Mile. Although compact, it has everything one needs for a "home away from home." Fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom. The living room can be secluded off if one is sleeping on pull-out couch.

Sometimes when the pubs close, one can hear a bit of street noise. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. It's a great way to relax in more spacious surroundings than one can in a small hotel room without full kitchen facilities to help make eating a bit more economical. Francois was extremely responsive while booking and settling in. Just super.

Location, location, location!

Well fitted apartment in the heart of New Town. Close to everything: castle, pubs, restaurants, tour buses and airport tram. We have used Homeaway in many European and UK locations and found the owner of this apartment, Francois, to be excellent to work with. Highly recommend.

Perfect location!

Our apartment was in a perfect location that met all of our needs while we were in Edinburgh. Grocery, bus, tram, tour companies, pharmacy and restaurants were all easily and quickly accessible.

Francois greeted us in the apartment. He was helpful, not only in introducing us to the apartment, but he also recommended a vegetarian restaurant that we enjoyed (Henderson's) as well as a tour company. The apartment was immaculate and well supplied.

What was most appreciated was how quickly Francois answered questions through email. The first day, the microwave was not working and by that afternoon, it was replaced.

Besides location, we found the bed to be comfortable, the shower was great, the new TV had a guide which helped to quickly navigate the channels, the fireplace was welcome on a couple of cold, dreary evenings, and the washer and dryer were convenient and allowed us to pack lightly. We would recommend putting a load in the morning to have done and ready that evening.

We enjoyed the sense of history on this New Town street!

Great apartment in a great location - highly recommended!!

Ideally placed in Rose Street just off Princes Street so great for shops and the Xmas market which was the reason for our visit. Apartment is on the small side but perfect for our needs with 2 adults and 2 small kids. Francois is great with very prompt responses to any enquiry and he met us when we arrived to explain everything at the apartment and was very knowledgeable about the local area etc. Strange smell which we think is coming from the hog roast shop below but didn’t really detract from our overall happiness with our stay. Would highly recommend this apartment and will look at staying here again when we return to Edinburgh which we definitely will!!

Apartment smells weird

Location is great, apartment is fairly clean, bathroom is new and clean but the apartment smells really weird. If you leave for a day and come back in the evening the smell is really pungent. Apart from that everything is great.

Owner's Response: Yes I am sorry. The shop below has been having a problem with their oven and the smells were coming into our property. This is now being repaired and we can overcome it by opening a window.

Car: not necessary

The flat is located on Rose Street which runs parallel to both Princes Street and George Street making it a superb base from which to explore the city. You are just a 10 minute walk from Waverley Station on Princes Street so it's easy to arrive by train into the city. A host of shops, bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep so much so the only problem you'll have is trying to decide where to go and how to fit it in during your stay.
