St. Stephen's Cathedral - 15 min walking (1,2 Km): St. Stephen's Cathedral (German: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form seen today, situated at the heart of Vienna, Austria in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Rudolf IV and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first being a parish church consecrated in 1147. As the most important religious building in Austria's capital, the cathedral has borne witness to many important events in that nation's history and has, with its multi-colored tile roof, become one of the city's most recognizable symbols.

Danube Canal - 3 min walking distance from Flat : The Danube Canal, which was years ago also called Viennese Water (Wiener Wasser), became revitalised and developed in the last few years to a new hot spot. After years of negligence new opened beach bars, clubs and cafés illuminated the area.

The surroundings along the Danube Canal provide different kinds of leisure centres and party locations, but also landing places of the Danube shipping, like Twin City Liner or Vienna Roundtrips.

The Strandbar Herrmann, near to the Urania, was the first location, which started into the new season this year. With filled up sandy beach, deck chairs and delicious cocktails and food it establishes as a famous beach bar.

The Adria Vienna, near the Salztorbridge, gleams in new brightness with its new built glass house. With the Mediterranean kitchen it is an essential part in the revival of the Danube Canal. Also the Tel Aviv Beach is conducive to the reassessment of this gorgeous area. A beach in the middle of the city invites to relax in the sun

Palace Urania reachable within 3-4 min of walking: The Palace Urania is a public educational institute and observatory in Vienna.
It was built according to the plans of Art Nouveau style architect Max Fabiani (a student of Otto Wagner) at the outlet of the Wien River and was opened during 1910 by Franz Joseph I of Austria as an educational facility with a public observatory. It was named after the Muse Urania which represents Astronomy.
During World War II, the Urania was damaged severely and the dome with the observatory was totally destroyed. After its reconstruction, it was reopened during 1957. The observatory itself has been continually improved technically over the years.
Presently the Urania also has seminar rooms in which wide-ranging classes and lectures are given, a movie theater that screens at the annual Viennale movie festival, and a puppet theater created originally by actor Hans Kraus.

Couldn't be better
Where to start with this? The apartment itself couldn't really be more conveniently located - literally across the street from the Radetzkyplatz tram stop (on the O line) which places it around a 5-8 minute walk from Mitte (where there is a mall and a major train station). There is a Spar supermarket around a 1 minute walk away which is perfect for buying supplies. It's quiet (on an inner courtyard), clean, modern and quite quaint with high ceilings and large windows. Visiting at a very cold time of winter I was worrying about the heating, but it's very warm inside and there's ample controls to increase or lower the central heating system. The bed is very comfortable and shower powerful and hot, and the kitchen even came stocked with a few beers which were free of charge! The best thing about this though is the host, Mani. Never have I met a more kind and compassionate guy. He met us on arrival to show us to the apartment, give us a tour and generally ensured that we were happy and comfortable with everything before our stay even started. He offered very useful tips as to the local area also. I must mention that I had been in touch with Mani via WhatsApp for at least a week before the stay as well as throughout, and he was extremely responsive and allayed any concerns over where we had to go and how to get there etc. Halfway through our stay we had to print out some concert tickets, and Mani was generous enough to offer to print them himself and then delivered them right to our apartment door! Really you couldn't hope for a better person to deal with and talk to on a rental apartment - Mani went above and beyond and I'd absolutely recommend both him and this apartment to anyone looking at staying in Vienna.

Great
Perfect for our 4 nights stay. Lovely and warm, comfy bed. Shower was fab - a combi-boiler so the shower doesn't run out of water after 2 seconds like a lot of places. Could have another loo put in the bathroom as its quite big (and new looking). The blinds are a big light but we managed to sleep well anyway. There s a lift up to the apartment (1st floor). Supermarket near by (closed Sundays, Closed after 6 Sat). We didn't really explore locally but it looked nice. Easy to get the line 1 to town, pay on the tram (sometimes coin only machine but sometimes machines with card pay). Easy to get the line 0 from the station to the apartment which stops right outside! We loved walking back along the river at night and going to the riverside bars - people sat on the edge having beers - very nice. Loved the wine village Grinzing too, we got to it from hop on off bus or can get tram 38 there.

Excellent location
Basic but clean and perfectly comfortable for a short city break. The property does not face the street so it's quiet. It's location is excellent - within walking distance of the main sights - and two tramlines stop in the street outside. There's a Spar supermarket nearby and an excellent bakery opposite. Mani was very helpful on our arrival. The weather was unseasonably hot for April but we weren't complaining.

Convenient, comfortable & quiet.
This apartment was perfect for our 5 night stay. The owner, Mani was great to deal with & very helpful when we arrived. Thank you Mani. The apartment has everything needed for a short city stay. It would be possible to cook full meals if required & even to wash & dry clothes - though no iron or ironing board. We tended to eat out in the day & then put something together at the apartment to relax after long tourist days, It is a quiet residential building rather than a holiday flat location. The WiFi was very fast. There are two tram routes outside the door. Line 0 is three stops to Wien Mitte railways station, where airport trains arrive & beyond, it goes to Prater - site of the famous big-wheel. Line 1 goes directly to the Museum Quarter & Opera, which is the best stop-off for most of the main venues & in fact goes to the Hauptbahnhof - the main city station. However, if you like a walk it is not at all far to walk right to the heart of the city. Within 30 metres there are 2 restaurants, a Spar Supermarket open until 20.00hrs & a bakery right across the street. When we return to this beautiful city we will hopefully stay here again.

Stylish and comfortable apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Mani the owner was very friendly and helpful. It was good to stay somewhere that was within walking distance of central Vienna. The apartment was near tram stops and a train station. There were good places to eat nearby and a handy supermarket. Even though the apartment was centrally located it was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely recommend this apartment to friends wishing to visit Vienna.

Why they chose this property

Landstrasse has a quite a varied appearance, especially due to the mixture of old and new structures. For instance, both the Belvedere and the Hundertwasserhaus are located here, as are the Rochusmarkt, the shopping street Landstrasse itself, the Stadtpark, and the KustHaus. Furthermore, the 3rd is home to several embassies which makes the district into a very safe one.

St. Stephen's Cathedral - 15 min walking (1,2 Km)
St. Stephen's Cathedral (German: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP.

What makes this property unique

Very quiet, Windows facing a courtyard.
Residential and very safe area
within walking distance to the most attrations in Vienna.
