Guestbook comments from the owner
We had a lovely stay at la maison du midi. It was a great pleasure to stay in a holiday house with all its appliances in good working order! We also loved Tourouzelle. We found the villagers very friendly and it was a good base for exploring the area. Many thanks,

House in Tourouzelle
Excellent spacious property, well equipped throughout , including air conditioning, swimming pool, cycles, etc. all of the things you need in that area .In a good position at the edge of the village, but not far from facilities and larger shopping places such as Narbonne. Also ideally placed centrallyfor visiting places such as spectacular mountain village of Minerve, fort at Carcassonne, beach areas etc,. Quite convenient for local restauraunts at Homps canal area or at Olonzac etc. Hard to better. Even in early season the weather was also ideal.
Spacious Home with All Amenities
We were a bit nervous about reserving a house on the internet for the first time, but in this case it was the best of luck. The house actually looks as good, or better, than it does in the pictures. We loved the large, open and uncluttered spaces, and the kitchen, with its island and plentiful countertops, was equipped with everything we needed to make our meals at home. During the day our daughter would often sit by the huge open windows that looked over the countryside writing her dissertation in peaceful bliss. The owner supplied us with detailed notes on the town and nearby places to visit, as well as food shopping and restaurants. He was also readily available to answer any questions. When we emailed him that the pool cleaner was rumored to plan to skip one visit because of a major holiday, we soon afterwards found a note on the counter from the cleaner reporting that he had indeed showed up and had taken care of the maintenance. One bedroom (that we didn’t in fact use) was short on bedding, but every other supply we could need seemed to be on hand. One caveat: this is a very breezy area, which is probably a dream in warm weather, but in May we found our warm sweaters and pjs very useful for the first part of our stay.
Beautiful holiday home
The beautiful house is clean and well equipped and the owners are really helpful. Its in a quite location in a beautiful village. With the must see attractions Canal du Midi and Minerve. So if you want a relaxing holiday we highly recommend La Maison du Midi. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Activity and Interests
La maison du midi is in the small quiet village of Tourouzelle surrounded by vineyards. If you want peace and quiet, this is it. The Canal du Midi and the ports of Homps and Argens are 5 minutes in the car. Carcassonne, the medieval fortress town, is only 25 minutes and Narbonne is also only a twenty minute drive. To the north, the Cathars village of Minerve, which overlooks the spectacular gorge formed by the river Cesse, is also 20 minutes away. Even closer to home, 4 km away, Lac de Jouarres offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. The village of Olonzac (4 km) has a good market on a Tuesday morning. There are several restaurants, a bank, a variety of shops and a supermarket there as well. There are many places along the Canal du Midi where you can relax with a drink or enjoy a meal. La Pont du Gard and Nimes are great day trip, well worth a visit. For more info and photos visit our website www.lamaisondumidi.com
