About the property

Superb 19th C. Farmhouse in extensive grounds

The house dates back to around 1830 and built in the design of traditional French chateau. It is set in private and secluded grounds. There is a covered terrace running along the rear of the house adjacent to the pool, next to the terrace is also a small bar area with a barbeque. There is also an extensive grass area and an orchard with: cherry, fig, plum, pear, and walnut trees. Plenty of places to sit in the sun, or in the shade! Accommodation is very flexible. The ground floor, with access to all rooms from the grand hallway comprises of, open plan breakfast room connected to a large, and fully equipped kitchen, separate living room with TV and wifi, formal dining room. Upstairs is a large bathroom with corner bath and shower, master bedroom with four poster bed, four further bedrooms (2 en-suite) including mezzanine level. Central heating system, wood burner in the living room, and huge open fire in the breakfast room to keep the house warm in winter, and thick stone/pebble walls which keep it cool in summer. There is a grounds man and house keeper. If you decide to stay at Le Petit Chateau, the house and grounds of about 2 acres, will be yours for the duration of your stay. Ample parking.

wow what an amazing house, we all were shocked how beautiful it is, and the pool is just one of the best things about it, such a lovely neighbourhood, the Pyrenees are stunning you can see them from the windows, canyoning in the mountains was a once in a lifetime experience thankyou from everyone

A wonderful place to stay

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is quiet and secluded yet there is a town nearby and more importantly a large SuperU (about 2 miles). The building is large and spacious and very well appointed. The pool is a good size. The maid attends once a week but is on call to assist with issues. We only had three things that needed to be dealt with. A small bug infestation on the upper floor, green swimming pool water and a wasp swarm from the property next door. None of these were the fault of the owner and didn't detract from the holiday at all. The villa is great fro visiting Lourdes. I would recommend this villa.

Beautiful house in lovely tranquil locatiopn

We had a really lovely holiday staying in the Petit Chateau. The house and gardens are really beautiful and very well equipped. The pool and outside eating area is also really lovely and we really enjoyed alfresco eating.

We found lots to do in the area - the cycling was great and we made plenty of trips into the pyrenees which were just stunning.

We also visiting lots of the surrounding villages which made for good cycling trips and the the nearest local village Maubourgeut has a selection of restaurants and patisseries - we would recommend Hotel De France as the food was v good.

Peter and Jean could not have been more welcoming on our arrival and the locals in Larreule were all so friendly and warm.

A lovely place to holiday - we would highly recommend it.

Beautiful. The most relaxing week imaginable.

We came to celebrate our parents' 40th wedding anniversary and father's 60th birthday - 8 adults and two small children. We couldn't have picked a better house or location. The space that the house and gardens offer make it possible for relaxing and playing to happen at the same time. There was ample space for dining, be that leisurely breakfasts or family BBQs. We found a fete in Maubourget and lovely walks around the village and woodlands. We cycled, we day tripped to the Pyrannees, and the weather was stunning. We honestly could not have asked for more. Thank you to Jean and Pete for such a wonderful holiday! We'll most certainly be back. Becca, Tristan, Chris, Paul, Jack, Frank, Maria, Quentin, John and Joy.

Most relaxing destination

Having travelled to many parts of the world, this is firmly our most relaxing destination.

If you are looking for a real French country experience then this is it.

The house is every bit as appealing as it looks in the pictures and the welcome from the owners Jean & Pete is unbeatable. This is a well renovated home with modern facilities.

Having photographed different parts of the Pyrenees over the last 3 years we found this to be an ideal location for access to the mountains.

As well as beautiful countryside and views we were surprised at the abundance of wildlife around the village and surrounding area. Walks are plentiful and the pool provides cooling rest at the end of the day watching the sun set over a glass of local wine.

We recently returned from our second visit and are hoping to return again soon.

Perfect Place for a Holiday!

Absolutely stunning! House is really spacious with everything you could wish for, all rooms finished to a really high standard and the bathrooms are amazing!!! Set in a lovely area, with a large, beautiful, garden with pool which is perfect for children. The local area has lots to do, we went to the mountains and the beach for day trips but the house itself is a perfect place to relax.

We will recommend to anyone, it offers a perfect base for a French holiday that I am sure everyone would enjoy! Will be back nect year!!
