About the property

2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4

Our modern, comfortable and cosy cottage is the perfect place for a romantic get a way or on the contrary an action packed week with the family. Situated up an ideal, no through lane and on the close outskirts of Brodick you will find yourself in walking distance to many local attractions with the Golf Course and Beach only a stones throw away. Therefore, we hope that not only the great location of our cottage will ensure you enjoy yourselves, but also the high quality of our property. The cottage provides a well equipped kitchen including the 6 burner cooking range allowing for easy and enjoyable nights in and our outdoor patio area is perfect for barbecuing if the weathers co operating ! If not however, the comfortable sofas infront of the gas fire in the living area with freeview television, a ample selection of DVDs and free Wifi should be a welcome retreat to relax. You will also find our Wet Room exudes luxury with underfloor heating and heated towel rails. Finally, upstairs are two ample sized bedrooms, both decorated to ensure a comfortable and warm stay.

Our cottage, found on Douglas Row is ideally situated on the close outskirts of Brodick. It is within walking distance of the many local tourist attractions mentioned and when venturing further afield to tour the islands other picturesque villages, the nearest Bus Stop is also only a hop, skip and a jump away. There are many restaurants and cafes around the island and in particular Brodick itself; the Brodick Bar being a popular one for lunch and in particular evening meals. Another favorite is the Wineport, perfect if you fancy a wander, passing Arran Aromatics and Duchess Court on your travels for a browse and continuing on for a minute or two to build up an appetite for a lovely lunch outside in the sun or inside the bistro if preferred. There are many more places to eat or drink, including the 'local pub' the Ormidale for a casual drink or if you fancy a cocktail, the newly refurbished Douglas Hotel.

Exceptional! 5/5 -

We stayed here for three nights during the February school mid-term. The cottage was just perfect.

Decorated and furnished to a very high standard and immaculately presented throughout, this property is truly a home from home, with everything you could ask for to ensure a very comfortable stay.

The location is a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful island, walking distance from the centre of Brodick and a very short distance from the leisure facilities available at Auchrannie.

Jane met us at the property upon our arrival and very helpfully offered some suggestions of things to do and see on the island. The owners live nearby and run the excellent Brodick Bar, which I would also highly recommend for dinner. An excellent menu and delicious food.

We will definitely return to this beautiful property and I highly recommend it for a luxury cottage stay for up to four people.

This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It was very clean, everything you need is there and even more! It is in a quiet location but still in walking distance from Brodick. The owners are friendly and helpful and Iain even picked us up at the Harbour an took us back there on the day of departure. Their Brodick Brasserie and Bar is also highly recommendable. If you don't have a car like us we recommend that you buy a week rider for the bus that will get you around the whole Island.

Island Bijou!

  • 5 of 5

This little bijou is the perfect place for a relaxed break on Arran. It is beautifully presented and furnished, and kitted out to a very high spec. The kitchen, with a 6 ring gas cooker (yes gas!!), is fantastic, as is the Bose soundsystem in the bedroom! It's location is ideal for a quiet getaway but still within easy reach of Brodick centre, the castle, some stunning long and short walks and the islands public transport. The gardens at the front make for a beautiful outlook and run around for doggies, and the enclosed paved/pebbled garden at the rear is perfect for enjoying breakfast/dinner in the sun when it shines! Staying away with a baby can be challenging, but it really couldn't have been made easier for us, with cot, highchair and baby bath all supplied! And what's more, Jane and Iain have thought of everything - from the espresso machine (including decaf pods!) teabags and sugar sachets, to the Arran Aromatics toiletries, to the dressing gowns in the bedroom. It truly is more than just a self catering cottage - it combines all of the appeal of self catering with the luxuries of a 5 star hotel to make your stay just perfect!! Thanks again guys for another wonderful holiday! Jenny, Steven, Elodie and Louie (the dog!)

Wonderful Getaway on Arran

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough good things about our weekend stay in Jane & Iain's cottage in Brodick. The location in Brodick was perfect: close enough to town, restaurants, shops, etc. but also very quiet and peaceful. Access to the bus station to explore the Island was great, and we also enjoyed Brodick Castle Country Park and the Fisherman's walk.

The cottage is beautifully renovated with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the patio, which was great for afternoon sun, snacks and drinks. Jane and Iain were absolutely wonderful, accommodating and friendly - especially after a long day of travel. We had a wonderful meal at the Brodick Bar as well. We hope to be back to stay again soon! Thanks, again!

Isle of Arran, also commonly referred to as 'Scotland in Miniature' is a beautiful island of open country side and sandy beaches. It makes a great holiday destination not only to enjoy it's tranquil scenery but for the outdoor activities available; hill walking, cycling, kayaking, golfing ( on any of the Islands 7 courses ) , pony trekking, abseiling and much more; the majority of which Arran Adventure provides equipment and guidance/lessons if interested. And of course, after all the fresh sea air there is an ample amount of cafes and restaurants to satisfy your appetite; the Brodick Bar being a popular one as well the Wineport. On the rainy days, the Auchrannie Spa resort is found in the village and offers Indoor Lesuire Facilities and Pool as well as beauty treatments for a little pampering ! Other popular local attractions within walking distance of our cottage are the Heritage Museum, Brodick Castle and Gardens and the 'famous' Arran Aromatics situated at Duchess Courts.
