Ideal for families
We stayed as a family of 6 adults and 2 children. The villa has three double bedrooms, one is on an upper floor with ensuite shower and toilet, with the other two being downstairs with the use of a separate toilet and large bathroom with double sinks, shower and bath. On the ground floor there is also a reasonable sized lounge with TV and small kitchen, which is compact and ideal for the villa, with all the utensils you could ask for - who wants to cook too much on holiday? The fourth bedroom is an open room on the upper floor with a single, double and cot along with football table, TV and other toys. The outside area of the villa is amazing, good sized swimming pool with a shallow part for smaller children, sufficient sun loungers and an umbrella for those who want a bit of shade. The garden offers a good mix of sunny and shaded areas to suit individual needs, with a toilet and shower hut if required. The patio area is large with both a sitting area and a dining area, the BBQ in the garden was well used during our stay! The villa is a little remote without a car, however once we got used to the bus timetables we did manage to get about on public transport which we found to run as per the timetable, one of our party did have a car and I we would recommend one for this property. The town of La Gaude is a little walk away and uphill, however there is a restaurant that we sampled and enjoyed as well as the local supermarket which is a five minute walk, there is also a small bar on the way to La Gaude (La Marionner) which we often visited for a few drinks and a croque monsieur, very welcoming staff. I would definitely recommend this villa, the only reason I am not giving a 5 star is that I feel with the climate in the south of France the downstairs bedrooms should enjoy air conditioning as the upper rooms do. For us the villa ticked all the boxes and we had a very enjoyable stay.
