Chalet La Ribambelle, 3 minutes by car from the ski slopes and with a shuttle bus at the end of the road, is a beautiful traditional chalet set above the alpine village of Combloux, with spectacular views of the Mont Blanc and its mountain range. It has been used as a family holiday home ever since it was built approximately 50 years ago by our parents. It is set at the end of a quiet lane, with rolling fields below and very few other houses around, providing a wonderfully tranquil setting with plenty of open space. The chalet is on three levels, with the main living accommodation on the middle level. The house sleeps 14 people in six bedrooms with 4 bath or shower rooms, very spacious living areas and wonderful views from most windows.

Front door entrance under large covered porch to small entrance hall on ground (middle) floor with adjacent WC. Very large open-plan L-shaped sitting and dining room with slate floors. The sitting room has comfortable sofas for 14, facing two large bay windows with beautiful views of the Mont Blanc and mountain ranges, and a large fireplace. The room sweeps round to the right to a spacious dining area with long table and chairs, two large bay windows and two doors onto the terrace. Good-sized well-equipped fitted kitchen with oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge with smaller freezer compartment (second fridge and freezer in cellar area downstairs). Off sitting room, small study/snug with desk and comfortable seating, various books and games for guests’ use.

First floor: slate stairs to upper floor with Master Bedroom 1: 140cm double, French doors to balcony with view of Mont Blanc, ensuite shower/WC. Bed 2: 150cm double, French doors to balcony with view of Mont Blanc. Bed 3: Two 90cm singles, window to rear. Bed 4: Two 90cm singles, window to rear, raised platform area (above stairwell). Bathroom with bath and shower. Washroom with basin and WC. Separate WC.

Lower floor: tiled staircase next to kitchen down to lower floor and Bed 5: 150cm double, window with view of Mont Blanc, ensuite washroom with basin and WC. Large Bed 6: Two 90cm singles, and bunk beds 90cm wide, 2 windows with view. Separate WC. Shower room with walk-in shower cubicle. Large basement boot room with washing machine, tumble-dryer, clothes drying and storage space, space for ski equipment and boots, plus small shower room, and door to lower level front of chalet and path to parking area. Cellar with second fridge and freezer.

The house is set at the end of a quiet cul de sac above the village of Combloux, surrounded by fields and only one or two nearby houses. The main living area opens onto a large decked terrace (approx. 10m x 5m), which leads to a sloping garden area with shrubs and flowers. The terrace has a large round wooden table with up to 14 chairs, and assorted loungers and tables, plus 3 parasols. A small footpath runs alongside the garden and accesses both the lower level of the chalet and the gravel parking area. Beyond the parking area is a large children's play area, with swings, slide, climbing area and viewing point.

Beautiful chalet close to slopes

We had a fantastic stay in this Chalet, beautiful place in a beautiful setting, very well equipped with absolutely everything we could need.

Ski bus stop just at bottom of the road and just one stop away from the slopes. We were massively impressed with Combloux slopes, only bothered going accross to Megeve once. Great range for all abilites with reasonably priced lift passes, especially for very beginners, who could purchase a small pass for €13!

Combloux centre is pretty with a small selection of shops and restaurants, including a small but decent supermarket.

The only negative aspect of our stay was due to complete lack of public transport once the ski bus stops at 17.30. Combloux centre too far to walk back and both taxi companies weren't operating! A real shame as all they would need to do is run an hourly bus service into the evening to make this the spot on perfect resort.

Perfect for large skiing group

14 of us (aged 14 to 76) stayed at the chalet and it was perfect - there is plenty of space in the living and sleeping quarters and the views from the living room are stunning. The chalet was spotless and well equipped. We got lucky with the snow which arrived just as we did (phew!) - Combloux is a little gem of a resort with plenty of skiing through the trees and no queues. The more advanced skiers had done it after a couple of days and went to Megeve which is 5 minutes away - much bigger and less picturesque but highly recommended. We have previously skied in Les Contamines 20 minutes up the valley and that is a great option too. One of the reasons for choosing the chalet is it's proximity to numerous resorts to mitigate the risk of poor snow. The organisation was exemplary before, during and after our stay. Chapeau!

Great chalet in quiet location with fabulous views

An ideal property for a late summer get together with family and friends. Spacious and comfortable accommodation with room for all to spread out. The bedrooms are comfortable and a good size, the property is well managed and the owner very helpful in providing information and guidance on what attractions and restaurants are worth a visit. The location is ideal, quiet (except for the occasional cow bell), close to the village and the views are stunning. Exactly as described.

This was our second September stay at this property and we are looking forward to returning for our third next year - what more can I say!

Excellent location, fabulous views home from home

We received a very warm welcome from Madame Christelle, the Chalet has all the facilities you could hope for. The views across the valley from the living room plus bedrooms were stunning. The location is very good, with good access to both ski lifts and the village centre. We had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay and hope to return again.

Amazing views, convenient location, grfacilities,

Amazing views, convenient location, very clean and tidy, high spec, homely accommodation. Secluded away from any noise with good skiing, walks and village nearby. Very helpful and accommodating owners. Catered with everything (and more) that you'll need for your self catered stay. Very well equipped for families with young children and groups alike. Definitely hope to return here for an amazing holiday again someday :)
