The villa is situated down a steep driveway, off a quiet lane, within walking distance from the centre of Lorgues, which has numerous restaurants, 2 supermarkets, many other small shops and a weekly market.

This 4-bedroomed villa is situated in peaceful terraced gardens, surrounded by mature pines and oak woods.

The villa has a private 4x9m swimming pool, sun terraces, BBQs, loungers and other garden furniture. The owner is not onsite and the renters will have sole use of the villa, gardens and pool.

The house has four bedrooms, a living room with TV and stereo, a dining room, a kitchen with dishwasher and a washing machine, as well as 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets. The bedrooms are furnished with 2 double beds and 4 single beds. The spacious ground floor living room has three large French windows, all opening up to an outside patio shaded by an old oak tree. There are also French windows onto the patio in the dining room and the kitchen.

Master Bedroom with Ensuite bathroom is downstairs. It features an antique French Oak Double bed, dual side tables & lamps. Step out on to the patio through the double French windows (also found in the living room & Dining Room). The ensuite bathroom features a full-size stand up shower and wash basin. The downstairs toilet is directly to the right outside the master bedroom.

Lounge:

After a long day of lounging by the pool or shopping in Lorgues or Le Muy markets, unwind in front of our Flat Screen TV (setup to receive UK and French TV) or sip a glass of wine on the Patio. If you prefer to stay indoors, check your email from the comfort of one of our 2 sofas with free Wireless Internet. All ages will stay entertained with a media centre containing hundreds of films and UK TV shows.

Dining Room:

Has a large Oak table which could seat 11.

Kitchen:

The kitchen has a modern Glass Ceramic hob, Electric Oven, Dishwasher, 2 fridges (in recognition of the large parties that may be staying) one with a freezer section, a Washing Machine, Toaster, Microwave Oven, Glass 'French Press' Coffee Maker, Electric Kettle, Large Tea pot (you can get English Teabags in the local Intermarche). We have ample plates and cutlery. There is also every other utensil imaginable including Oyster Opening knives, utensils for holding and extracting escargots, corkscrews and bottle openers.

All the French Windows (total 5) are south facing and open onto a large patio area outside with wooden table and chairs in the shade of an old oak tree. There is a charcoal Weber barbeque here.

Upstairs:

The stairs lead onto a Landing. Off the landing is:-

- another double bedroom with dual side tables and lamps

- a bathroom with a full size bath, shower attachment and a wash basin

- a toilet with a washbasin

- a bedroom with 2 single beds and another pull out bed suitable for a child

- a bedroom with 2 single beds

Outside:

Immediately outside is a large patio area. On this patio is a large wooden table and 8 chairs for dining 'al-fresco', which is what you will probably be doing most of the time! This table is in the shade of an oak tree.

Around the side of the house there is parking space for at least 3 or 4 cars.

There are 2 separate stepped pathways up to the pool which is 9m x 4m with a minimum depth of 1.1m and a maximum depth of 2.2m. The pool is on a separate terrace at roughly 'first floor' level, which contains another large patio, a traditionally built (stone, wooden roof beams and roof tiles) poolhouse and shaded seating. There are 8 sun loungers, more dining chairs and another table around the pool and poolhouse area.

The sloping gardens between the 2 main terraces are planted with lavender, rosemary and other Mediterranean plants.

From the 'pool terrace' there are steps up to another terrace, which has grass and broom.

We love this area of France. We love the hustle and bustle of the beautiful coast and all its attractions, but we also love being able to get away from it here; while still being close. We love the local wines and other provencal produce. We love the weekly local markets in Lorgues and Le Muy. We love Le Table de Pol in Lorgues. And we love the seafood section of the Hyper-U in Les Arcs.

My girls (17 and 12) and I had a fantastic holiday in the lovely town of Lorgues. They particularly loved the swimming pool and sun bathing; I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The villa has all the comforts of home and is in an idyllic spot, great to come back after our daily excursions. We drove to Frejus/St Raphael/St Tropez/Monaco/Cannes, making this central location unbeatable. Michael and Gail have a wealth of knowledge about the region and have provided guest information to make the best use of the area and days out.

Lorgues itself has a lot to offer with Market day, a great choice of restaurants, and the historic centre, there are also supermarkets, post office, bakeries and much more.

A brilliant, memorable holiday, we all hope to return.

Fantastic Villa set in a Picture Perfect Location!

We had a fantastic time at the villa, it was everything we hoped for and more! Set in a peaceful hillside location but within easy access to the coast and less than an hour to Cannes and St Tropez we felt we had the best of both worlds! The local town of Lorgues is picture perfect and only a short walk away, with great restaurants and a fantastic market every Tuesday. The villa, pool and surrounding grounds are more impressive than the pictures can do justice and left us thoroughly relaxed and reluctant to come home after two weeks! Can't thank Mike and Jean-Pierre enough for all their assistance. We'll definitely be returning! Matt, Harriet, Ant, Claire and Sir Sidney.

A large spacious house, well equipped in a quiet location, with a pleasant outside dinning area

We stayed here for just over a week, a great quiet location to sit in the garden, relax, eat and drink with a lovely pool to cool off in.

There are lots of places to visit in the area, St Tropez, Monaco and the very pretty coast with lots of sandy beaches, ideal for all ages of children.

It is a great place for a family holiday, the local town is about a 10 to 15 minute walk away with lots of restaurants and bars to visit, and a very good weekly local market, we would recommend a holiday here and we are aiming to return.

Fantastic Villa - lovely early break

We had a great time here. The kids loved the pool which was surprisingly warm considering how early in the year it was. The villa has everything you would need and was as per the photos and advert. We know the local area really well and this place is ideally placed for the coast or gorges du verdon etc...

Beautiful house with spacious accommodation however pool area is in need of some attention

The house was spacious, pleasantly decorated and well laid out. All of the bedrooms were a good size. There are fans in the bedrooms to help with the heat at night. The sitting room and dining areas were particularly nice. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything you could need (apart from a mop - not such a bad thing but we could have done with a quick clean of the floors towards the end of the week!). There is uk satellite tv available in the villa. There is an information manual in the villa also which was very helpful to refer to throughout our stay. The pool was a good size however the area around it is in need of attention both in terms of repair work to the tiling, repainting the wall and finishing the surrounding pool area. As we spent most of our time by the pool, this was a little disappointing. Jean-Philippe, the caretaker, was very nice and helpful and recommended a wonderful restaurant when we arrived (Le Chrissandiere). He was a wealth of information about the area. He was also of great assistance when my husband badly hurt his hand when the pool sweeping brush snapped due to rust and nearly severed his finger. He arrived within minutes of being called, stayed until the ambulance left with my husband, gave me directions to the hospital to follow the ambulance and kept in touch later in the day to check in on his condition. Very nice man, we were very thankful for his assistance. Lorgues town was beautiful and only 5-10 minutes by car from the villa. There was a wonderful market on Tuesdays which is well worth attending.

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear about your accident with the brush. Saw the brush when I was down a week ago, wondered what had happened. It was a plastic handled broom so it can't have been rust, also it was new at the beginning of the season. It must have taken a lot of weight to break it. The plastic does break into sharp edges. I've replaced with a "normal" wooden handled broom. Have now sorted out pointing and painting in those areas you pointed out. Thanks

Fantastic villa

Our party of 8 had a fantastic stay at this lovely villa. There was plenty of room and the place was spotlessly clean and tidy. Our kids aged 11 and 9 (and the big kids too!) loved the pool which, with temperatures in the high 80s every day, was a must have. The villa had everything we could want and is a 15 minute walk into the lovely town of Lorgues. We found some nice restaurants although tended to eat/cook at the villa.

Lorgues is very central for touring and we had some great trips around the Var region and around the Côte d'Azur. Nice, Cannes, St Tropez and some fantastic beaches are all within an hour or an hour and a half range by car. Some highlights were St Paul de Vence over towards Nice, Cotignac and its caves, Tourtour is beautiful and for the adventurous there is an excellent tree top adventure place within the L'Arnaude estate which is a short drive from the villa. We spent a full day exploring the Gorge du Verdon (the French Grand Canyon). We'd recommend the southern route from Lake de St Croix (the lake is an amazing colour) and then head back along the north side to Moustiers Sainte-Marie which is a stunning village with great ice-cream!

Thoroughly recommend this villa. The booking process was easy and Mike helped us out with directions from Marseille Airport and despite arriving after midnight we managed to find it with no problems.

Perfect stay

Five of us had a brilliant stay at Mike's villa. It is in a great location with some beautiful countryside walks nearby (including one to a vineyard) and Lorgues town only a short walk away. We also drove to Nice and Marseille which were both under an hour and a half away and very straightforward journeys.

The outdoor area was great for relaxing by the pool (which can be a bit cold first thing but warms up during the day if the sun is out) and enjoying a BBQ dinner, and the villa is very homely inside with ample space for cooking in the kitchen and lazing in front of the TV. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and all of the showers worked very well.

No complaints from us at all - would highly recommend!
