All the rooms have windows/doors opening to the outside and making the exterior a part of the house. The spaces are ample, the common rooms in open space and everything seems to flow in this house with a simple, but very careful décor. All the pieces were chosen with precision, each one in its right place, in light shades, outlining the wooden textures that seem to mingle with the landscape.

What makes the décor of all the spaces so special is the perfect combination between the typical Alentejo plain and the urban/contemporary interior.

Ideal for a few days of vacations with family or friends, this house has everything we can wish when we think of relaxing away from home, from the daily routine and the worries they bring.

Alentejo is in the South of Portugal. This amazing house is about 1,5 hour from Lisbon and a great place for families or groups.

About Portuguese Living

Hello I'm Rita and I'm the owner of PortugueseLiving, who manages this unique villa.

I started the short rental business with my properties in 2006, and then PortugueseLiving was the natural step.

We are located in Lisbon and carry beautiful properties in our portfolio, check it out!

Portuguese Living purchased this house in 2011

Why Portuguese Living chose Grandola

The house is situated 200 meters above sea level, right in the heart of an environmentally protected area, where you can walk under the shade of cork oaks and green pines contrast with the blue sea. Owned by a photographer, the house was designed and decorated as an informal space with abundant natural light. All the rooms have wide windows that immediately connect us to the exterior; the kitchen is the central area of the house, providing us with long lasting moments of joyful gathering. Every day you will see the Sun setting in the ocean in a different manner.

That is why we have an outside shower turned to the west. Monte do Pomarinho is situated in a 3 hectare plot where cork oaks predominate. Here you have the silence and the necessary space to enjoy your privacy. Dream, is the first word that comes to our mind when describing this house in the heart of the Alentejo, a few dozen kilometers from Grândola and about an hour by car from Lisbon. A dream so near, a dream that day by day seems distant but which materializes when we meet this fully redone Alentejo house. Boavista - Good View - is the word that comes to mind when we wake up in the morning with the Alentejo plains in front of us, Boavista when we are in the kitchen preparing a light meal and sit around the table to savor it, Boavista that we have when sitting on a sofa in the living room and the easy chairs on the porch.

All the rooms have windows/doors opening to the outside and making the exterior a part of the house. Guestbook comments from the manager

This is indeed a great place for those wanting to get away from it all, unplug and relax in beautiful surroundings. The house is stylish, comfortable and well equipped. But, if you want to immerse yourself Portuguese culture and things to do nearby you may find this house a little remote.

Casa ideal para férias tranquilas com crianças

  • 5 of 5

Gostámos muito da casa e da tranquilidade do sitio, tem tudo o que é preciso para umas boas férias, dá para descansar e fazer longos passeios pelo campo. As praias são muito boas e com bons acessos para crianças.

Relaxing few days.

  • 5 of 5

Overall a truly relaxing break from my city life. The property invites you to simply kick back and relax. Great sunsets around the pool after a whole day spent on the nearby beaches. My kids really enjoyed playing freely on the property.

Alentejo is a wonderful region with many wonders to discover, with wines, sausages and breads you will never find elsewhere, a genuine hospitality of the people, villages and unique places that dazzle all visitors.

The tranquility of the plains, the typical Alentejo gastronomy, houses painted in white lime and blue frames around the doors and windows, the local people, the houses, and so many other things make this region a destination you cannot afford to miss.
