A wonderful and private home - Well equipped

  • 5 of 5

Tim was a most gracious and helpful host during our stay. The house is comfortable, very well equipped and private. The home is surrounded by beautiful farmland and scenic views of the setting sun across the nearby mountains. We saw fireworks as soon as we arrived .... literally. For some unexplained reason, there was a fireworks show lighting up the night sky the first night we were there. Tim helped us with questions about the area throughout our stay, and was available to stop by and help with any house details if we had needed him to do so. Typical of travelling by car in Ireland, the road up to the house is narrow and not for the faint of heart. I guess it's good preparation for your driving throughout the region. I'm sorry that we couldn't spend more time with Tim. He's a wonderful resource and a pleasure to work with for those who are visiting the region for the first time. Would definitely stay there again should we be lucky enough to return for another visit. Best, Paul

Fabulous house with stunning view's

  • 5 of 5

Tims house has everything you would need for your holiday in stunning Co. Kerry. From the moment we arrived Tim was on hand to guide us around the house and advise us about things around the area. The house itself is beautiful and spotless. The view's out over the mountains are spectacular and we enjoyed waking up in the morning and seeing them. You are 10 minutes from Killarney, so the area is very peaceful. It is the perfect spot for touring around Kerry and the Ring and Skellig ring are a must. You are very close to Dingle and a boat trip to see Fungi the dolphin is a must. Had a great holiday and will be seeing Tim and his wonderful house again soon.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and another couple spent a week at the Lissivane Country Cottage in May and we could not have been happier! The quiet country setting was a beautiful contrast to the Bed and Breakfasts we stayed at in other parts of Ireland. The house itself is perfectly maintained and spotlessly clean. It has all the modern amenities you could want, including WiFi, flat-screen TV, washer/dryer, high-end kitchen appliances, etc. It is perfectly laid out for 2 couples to share, with each bedroom having it's own full bathroom, plus a powder room off the laundry. There is abundant closet space. Beautiful views out the dining room windows. It is perfectly located for all the area activities including Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Gap of Dunloe, Muckross House, etc. You do need a car, though, as it is about a 15 minute drive to Killarney town. We spent a week and were busy every day. There is a nice grocery store in Milltown about 5 minutes north. Here we bought some peat and had fires in the fireplace every night. The owner, Tim, is very helpful and accessible and he had some good advice about anything we asked him. I would highly recommend the Lissivane Country Cottage!

A unique experience ....a wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a perfect week in this beautiful cottage. Tim who lives nearby was there to greet us and gave us all the info we needed throughout our stay. The home has even more to offer than what the pictures suggest: large rooms, modern appliances, beautifully design, a quiet rural setting with great views of the fields and mountains, the whole building is all yours. The cottage is only a 10 minute drive to Killarney and an ideal location to visit the Ring of Kerry, Dingle peninsula, Cork, the Burren and much more. When travelling we like to cook our evening dinner; the kitchen was superbely equipped and all the amenities mentionned were of superior quality. I definitely will recommend Lissivane Cottage to my family and friends.

A suggestion: adding info on number of square feet or meters of floor surface to description would be an asset.

Fabulous cottage, beautifully equipped, peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderfully relaxing week in this very well-equipped, beautifully decorated cottage, with lovely light through lots of windows and great access to the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula. Owner is lovely and very helpful. Listing was fully accurate and we recommend this accommodation without reservation. It was a wonderfully peaceful place to stay - countrified but close to Killarney for shopping and meals out.

Best equipped and lovely prepared holiday home

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is fully equipped with all the items you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The only thing which we missed was a socket for the hair dryer next to a mirror for the daily styling. The whole house is tastefully furnished and very good maintained and cleaned. Tim the key holder is very friendly and helpful and presents the cottage very well. There where actually fresh flowers in our rooms when we arrived. You have a great view from the cottage to the countryside and the mountains. It's lovely and peaceful - highly recommended if you like the countryside and don't need to stay in the centre of a city.

If you stay here, you should schedule a whole day for a trip around the Ring of Kerry. There are so great locations on the way and not only on the well signed points of view. We liked especially the place in the Killarney National Park where the little old church stays on the small but wild river and the walking way to the Black Valley starts. Also highly recommended is a dolphin and whale watching tour. We had a very nice trip with Nic Slocum from Whale Watching West Cork.
