An apartment built of traditional Lake District stone and slate with all the modern comforts of home. Situated within a conservation area in the heart of Grasmere village next to the river and within yards of the churchyard where Wordsworth is buried. There is a floor to ceiling window in the lounge from which to admire the river, the fells and the sheep grazing. Shops, pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance without the use of your car.

Grasmere is the 'Jewel of the English Lakes' one of the most beautiful of the lakeland villages. The most famous resident William Wordsworth described it as 'the loveliest spot that man bath ever found' and most people agree with his sentiments today. There are many walks in the area for all levels of walkers. The village boasts several pubs and restaurants, art galleries and gift shops. The River Rothay runs through on it's way to Grasmere lake, where you can hire a rowing boat or just sit and admire the views. As the apartment was purchased for use as our 'second home' we have furnished it to a high standard, and we feel you will have a very relaxing holiday. Walking Maps and Guide Books are provided for your use during your stay. From the windows at the rear of the property you look onto the river with uninterrupted views across parkland towards the fells and yet you are able to walk straight into the village from the gate, without having to use a car.

Our internet booking proved to be very worthwhile. We have had a very happy week here.

We've had a super holiday in a super apartment in a super village. This apartment will be the gold standard by which all other apartments will be judged -here and in Germany! The best holiday we have had for years even if our muscles are aching and we did'nt have time to peruse your excellent library -Mr & Mrs D.

In 30 years of renting in the Lakes we have never had better accommodation nor have we had a warmer welcome- Mr & Mrs F.

Thank you enjoyed our 5th stay here the flat was great as usual hope to be back soon- Keith G.

Great setting and really well equipped. Cost and comfortable

This property had everything you need. The setting g is great, right in the centre of a village. Great for walking and cafes. Quick drive to larger villages. Beautiful views from every angle and amazing amount of quality cafes and a lovely restaurant next door.

Perfect Location, Splendid accommodations!

We spent a week here in June and had 6 day of perfect weather (amazing for the lakes!).The apartment is situated in the heart of Grasmere overlooking the River Rydal. It is on two floors above a shop. Parking off street is right there at the shop. It is wonderfully equipped and has all the utensils, appliances (including washer/dryer) for eating in if desired. Close to restaurants and shops. Walk to everything. Very clean and modern furnishings with a lovely nook overlooking the river.

really well located and equipped a real one from home

We had a great week. Fabulous weaher. The cottage is great for walking and exploring from and really comfy for relaxing in evenings. Lots of pubs and cafes in walking distance and great outdoors clothing shops. Not too far to larger villages and other lakes.

We love this property

Our second stay in this property this year and we will undoubtedly be back. So centrally in the village with just a few minutes walk to all the amenities that Grasmere has to offer. The view over the river to the fells beyond is beautiful. The apartment is well equipped and cosy, with a homely, relaxed feel. Great communications between the owner and the housekeeper ensured that our entry and arrival was seamless once again. Many thanks!

Perfect!

A wonderful quiet retreat in the heart of the popular village of Grasmere. This cosy, well equipped apartment was perfect for our family break (children aged 10 and 12). It was wonderful to return from long walks to a clean, warm apartment with wonderful views. Grasmere itself can be very busy, so the private off street parking space was great. The apartment itself is very quiet as it is above a shop. Would definitely recommend...perfect for walkers and those who just want to enjoy the beauty of the Lake district.

Two adults and 10 year old boy. Perfect holiday.

We've just spent the most wonderful week at Water's Edge in Grasmere. The apartment was easy to find thanks to the detailed directions. Parking spot nice and close. Lovely welcome on arrival. Apartment more than expected, the photo's don't do it justice really. Totally central to all amenities and walks/climbs.

Everything was clean, cosy and comfortable. Beds were immaculate, totally delicious to climb into after a long day out and about. Bathrooms equally spotless and showers worked perfectly.

User manuals left for cooker and washer/dryer [a huge plus]. Dishwasher was super. We also made good use of the maps and guides as we'd managed to leave our OS Map at home [lol] so were very grateful to find hundreds of walks and climbs detailed in the folder.

You really don't need to take anything other than towels, toiletries and your food and maybe some laundry powder if you think you might need to do a wash. All dishwasher tablets etc are provided. The kitchen is totally kitted out with everything you could possibly need.

Handy Co-op five minutes walk away for that loaf or pint of milk. Super eateries on the doorstep. Keswick and Kendal just a short drive away for a wider choice. We only left Grasmere twice the whole week as so much to do locally.

As you can tell, we loved it and would thoroughly recommend this beautiful property to anyone considering a week in The Lakes.

Grasmere lies almost at the centre of the Lake District National Park. The village nestles in the hills near to the lake and is well known for its association with Wordsworth and the Romantic poets. The churchyard where Wordsworth is buried and the Gingerbread shop are very close by and the spectacular scenery is popular for walkers.
