Very nice property - but with a flaw!

  • 3 of 5

Overall the house is nice with plenty of space and it is well equipped. When we arrived it was all very clean and everything we needed was to hand. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Its a really nice area and great to explore the Dordogne/Perigord area. The only gripe we had was that the proximity of the other rental property to the back of the house (which is the kitchen and main bedroom) meant that if, as we did, you have anything like noisy neighbours then it can be pretty difficult to get to sleep or even to relax in the bedroom or kitchen and you may want to keep the windows closed - not a good idea in 30c+ temperatures! Next door's patio area is literally right outside the kitchen window. Overall a nice place but a shame about the layout of the two properties.

  • 5 of 5

A lovely relaxing stay, away from it all but plenty that you can do in the area if you want to. Helpful owners and neighbours. Really well equipped house and great pool. Couldn't have asked for better

Relaxation in beautiful French countryside

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned after a fantastic stay at Les Noisettes. The photos do not do this beautiful house and pool justice. The house is really well equipped, a real home for home. Everything you need is there. The owners, John and Jill are lovely and were happy to help with anything we needed. Cannot recommend high enough, we will be returning!

Owner's Response: In some instances words speak louder than pictures and this is definitely the case with Les Noisettes, as pointed out by Karen. A home from home givng you the holiday of a lifetime. We are always pleased to see old faces but also look forward to welcoming new ones and helping to make their stay equally memorable.

Great for those that want to get away from it all

  • 5 of 5

A delightful property, tucked away but not cut-off. Deceptively large with a great layout for families where eberyone can find a quiet corner. Plenty to do indoors with TVs, books and games and a well equipped kitchen. A large and safe garden with a great pool, plenty of chairs and grass and a BBQ. Ideal for those that want to stay at home, or use it as a base to explore.

Owner's Response: We aim to run a family friendly property and are pleased we have succeeded, but its also great for those without children, great for those who enjoy exploring the history and countryside of France.

Peace and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

The property and location are ideal for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The pool and gardens are lovely and the weather was great too! You would need your own transport - the parking was ideal for 3 bikes - but could park more if needed.

Highly recommended - Mde Moutierers (? spelling sorry) restaurant down the road to junction and turn right - for a duck extravaganza! It is possible to walk but take a torch!

Fantastic get-away

  • 4 of 5

We so loved this property when we arrived. A delightful authentic rural farmhouse with lovely beams etc. We loved the kitchen with its great bread oven. Absolutely stunning area, and the location itself was perfect for us. plenty of places to sit and relax, eat etc whether you prefer sun or shade. Bed very comfortable- had a few late starts! :-). Make sure you visit some of the towns such as Monpezier, Eymet, Bergerac itself. Also, to canoe the Dordogne is a must. We had a fantastic Anniversary holiday and would love to go back.

Nearest Airport : Bergerac at 20 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Sigoules at 6 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : St Malo at 450 Miles Nearest Golf : Vigiers at 6 Kilometres Nearest Train : St Foy la Grande at 18 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : E70 at 40 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Famille Moutier at 2.5 Kilometres Car: recommended

Les Noisettes is approx. 20kms south of Bergerac(its nearest airport) and 15 kms south east of Ste Foy la Grande ( a pretty market town). With the Dordogne flowing between these two towns there are plenty of opportunities to take a boat trip and discover the beauty of the area. Or for the more energetic why not hire a canoe and explore at your leisure.

It is located in the famous Bergerac/Mombazillac wine growing region. The wine routes are indicated and most producers offer free tasting.

Prehistoric caves and ancient dwellings can be found within an hours drive of the house.

Local markets abound and there is always something happening in local villages during the summer evenings, from night markets to oyster festivals and medieval re-enactments.

There is plenty for all ages in the region from canoeing or testing your nerve in the adventure parks to gentle walks in the surrounding countryside. Or just sit by the pool and enjoy the peace and quiet in this rural idyll.

The lounge is equipped with TV, video and DVD and a selection of DVDs, videos, games, jigsaws and books so even caters for those quiet days in. The kitchen is well equipped with a large modern cooker, dishwasher and fridge freezer as well as an ample supply of crockery, cooking utensils, etc. There is also a washing machine at the property.
