Villa, 5 bedroom with air-con, sleeps 11, heated pool, near Ostuni, Pugli

Overview

Property

Updated: 21-Nov-2016
Beautiful 5 bedroom Villa, heated private gated pool, rural setting, sleeps 11

A self catering, well appointed private Villa with large heated pool and garden set in olive groves.

The Villa sleeps 11, all in proper beds, and is ideal for family holidays or for a group of friends. The 5 bedrooms are large with beautiful stone ceilings and all offer air conditioning. The 2 large double rooms, both en-suite with french doors, are next to each other at the pool end of the house. The villa also offers two twin rooms and a room with bunk-beds and a single bed. The single beds and bunks are large enough to comfortably accommodate adults. These 3 bedrooms are near the large family bathroom which includes a giant bath with shower. Travel cots and high chairs are available on request. Mosquito screens have been fitted to all windows.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. You may chose to eat in the kitchen at the glass table or enjoy al-fresco dining in the large outside kitchen area with brick BBQ, sink, fridge and large wooden table which seats 12. The outside space also includes a split level shaded seating area and an olive tree shaded patio.

The Villa has a 12m x 6m (approx) swimming pool, walled and gated for safety with fixed shade to one side and large sun loungers. There is an outside shower within the pool area. The pool is left uncovered but does have a safety cover which may be used if required.

We have installed over the 2014/15 winter solar pool heating system. This should mean the pool wil be open from mid April to the end of October.

The indoor sitting area offers a large l-shaped chocolate leather sofa, fabric corner seat, chairs, coffee table, fire place, TV and stereo. There is also a laundry room with an additional fridge/freezer, washing machine, iron and ironing board, and a WC. Satellite TV and wireless internet, ipad/pod docking station and a selection of DVDs are provided. The Villa has drinkable tap water thanks to its own bore hole.

Villa Vesta is in a rural location under 15 minutes by car from both Cisternino and Ostuni (the famous 'White City'). The nearest mini market and petrol station is the 3 Ladies Garage just 5 minutes by car. The garage includes a coffee shop and mini-market with deli. The nearest full size supermarkets are in Cisternino and Ostuni.

The Villa is just 40 minutes from Brindisi airport and 1 hour from Bari airport.

A beautiful quiet property which is not over looked, set in the countryside and ideal for holidays at any time of the year. Air-conditioning and traditional stone walls help keep the villa cool in summer and we offer central heating and duvets for the cooler months. For beach lovers the nearest beach is only a 20 minute drive. The Villa manager speaks English, Italian and German. Activities such as sailing, cycling and horse riding may be arranged as can a chef and additional maid service.

All linens and towels (including pool towels) are provided. For more information please contact us.

For those wishing to explore the fascinating Puglian region the Villa is an ideal base from which to visit the local towns and cities. The area offers many beautiful and interesting places including Cisternino, Ostuni: 'La Citta Bianca', Martina Franca, the impressive limestone caves of Castellana Grotte and the World Heritage Site of Alberobello with its famous Trulli. Slightly further afield (approx 100km drive) is the city of Lecce, kicknamed 'the Florence of the South' with its renowned Baroque architecture. The Villa is also ideally situated for a day trip to the Unesco World Heritage site of Matera with its famous cave 'sassi' dwellings. The nearest beach is located at Torre Carne, 10 minutes further on is the well equipped (parking, showers, wc, bar, restaurant) Lido Bosco Verde just before Pilone. There is also a zoo-safari at Fasano.

About the Owner

My wife Sarah and I have three young children under the age of 11. We live in Suffolk and first visited Puglia back in 2000. Having fallen in love with the region we decided it would be an ideal place for a holiday home. We built and equipped the Villa with our family holidays in mind. We have had many fantastic stays at Villa Vesta and hope you enjoy yourselves here as much as we do.

Wonderful family holiday in Puliga

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Villa Vesta. Perfectly located to visit many attractions in Puglia, the villa offers a lovely retreat to enjoy the sunshine either by the pool or under the spacious shaded outdoor seating area. Bettina, the property manager, was extremely helpful when we arrived and the house book was very useful. The "welcome pack" of fresh food and drink was very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend the property for a family holiday. The Dockrays.

A Perfect Puglian Experience

  • 5 of 5

Following a 6 day bicycle trip touring the beautiful back roads of Puglia our group of 10 enjoyed a relaxing 4 day stay at Villa Vesta. It is located in the midst of tranquil countryside offering sweeping vistas in all directions and wonderful privacy. The grounds and pool area are beautifully landscaped and offer numerous spaces to relax, dine, and converse. The house was immaculate, charming, extremely comfortable and functional, and made of local materials in Puglian style. We greatly enjoyed meeting Bettina, the local property manager, who was extremely welcoming and efficient. She arranged local chefs to prepare and serve a dinner on the night we arrived and the food was superb! Definitely the best food of our entire trip. We are planning a return trip in the future and highly recommend staying at Villa Vesta.

First class vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay at Villa Vesta.

The house is wonderful: modern architecture yet well integrated with local style, very well furnished and equipped. The area is extremely quiet, amid olive trees.

First class service as well. Bettina the local villa manager is very nice, helpful and professional.

The villa is also ideally located to visit puglia: Ostuni, Lecce, Matera, Alberobello ... and many others places we didn't have time to visit!

We were 11 people in the villa, our 3 sons, 3 daughters in law and 3 grand children, everybody loved it.

Thanks again to Sarah, Hal and Bettina.

Martine and Pierre (from Paris, France).

Hal & Sarah

Wow!!! we just had to put pen to paper to say a big thank you for the part you played in us having such a lovely family holiday recently, by which I mean thank you for our stay at your beautiful villa.

The place is outstanding with all of the features and facilities of modern living , no need for packing all of the electrical goods … everything was already there and to hand…. Definitely no roughing it here!!!

My wife and I stayed there along with her mum and dad, our own daughter, her husband and their 3yr old daughter, our granddaughter! And what a time she had in the pool, she couldn’t get enough of it and she even got me in there too.

Although we needed our vehicle to get anywhere it was never a problem with the town of Cisternino being only a few minutes drive away if we needed anything or fancied eating out.

Although the villa is in a secluded setting its well placed and central as a base for visiting other outlying towns or the beaches on the coast.

When we arrived we were met by Bettina and what a great help she was, a really lovely woman and its fair to say your villa is in safe hands with her looking out for it. She had already been out and had put the welcome pack together, well when I say welcome pack it was nearly a weeks worth of shopping!!

The weather was great, the food and wine was great and so was the company, we all had a fabulous time and will definitely be looking to holiday there again in the future, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a get away from it all break.

Thank you both once again Hal & Sarah

Heavenly holiday!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Villa Vesta and we were at home in an instant. The manager and her team are incredibly thoughtful and welcomed us back literally with open arms. The house is cool, crisp, stylish and the main living area is open plan making it the social heart of the house. However, relaxing in the outside living area is a dream with scented hedges, flowers and is a signature of the architect Bettina's properties. This was our fifth visit to this lovely area with historic buildings and even older olive trees (1500 + years) and the villa is a great centre for the beach and surrounding towns. The villa caters for many guests and is very well equipped.

Wonderful Vacation Home and Base to Explore

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in Puglia and Villa Vesta made for a perfect base to explore the area. Major "must see" sites and hidden gems were all within a reasonable drive. The house is in a perfect setting and beautifully appointed. Being winter, the pool was closed but it was still warm enough on some days to sit outside for lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

The house was extremely comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas were spacious, modern and pristine. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was nothing more we could have asked for, and look forward to returning. A special thanks to Bettina for her help in arranging a most magnifcent cooking class for lunch and dinner (a 17th birthday celebration for our son), and New Year's eve at Bell' Italia in Cisternino!!

Many thanks for a wonderful holiday!!

Location

From the Owner

A home away from home. Set in a beautiful and peaceful surrounding, yet only 10 minutes drive to the nearest town with a small supermarket just 5 minutes away. We have tried to include everything required to make your holiday as comfortable and as easy as possible. The kitchen has everything you could need from an electric kettle to a potato peeler that actually peels! Air-conditioned bedrooms aid a good nights' sleep in the warmer months with central heating and duvets for the colder times of year. All bedding and towels are included. The Villa is an ideal place to relax, or for the more adventurous, the perfect base for exploring the surrounding towns, villages and beaches. We are just 10 minutes from Cisternino, 15 minutes from the stunning Ostuni and only 90km from Lecce. The Agean coast is but 20 minutes drive or visit the Ionion Sea in under 2 hours. We have been visiting Puglia every year since completing Villa Vesta in 2007 and every trip we find new and interesting things to do. The area is rich in history and the Puglian people are friendly and welcoming and, rightly so, very proud of their beautiful region.
