Walk up to a beautiful period building and step inside this London holiday apartment, perfect for a family, or friends meeting in London. With the comfort of a country cottage and a prime location our Belgrave Road is a real find if ever there was one. Located in well-connected Pimlico, between the Thames River and Victoria station, this beautiful holiday home is popular with our guests for its spacious bedrooms and private terraced garden! The interior is a blend of city sophistication and comfortable glamour, effortlessly matching the elegant streets outside.

Living & Eating

Expect an open-plan living area with soft pales shades, while the ornamental fireplace and handful of lamps add warmth and character. A circular dining table generously seats four people; perfect for a family game or some home dining. A pair of fabulous double doors lead you to a fully equipped kitchen with all the modern appliances you would expect. Testament to the care that was taken over the design, there is a handy breakfast bar for more casual munching. And we love to save the best for last: there is a private terrace garden, with a BBQ to boot, just to add one last luxury to the list.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The main bedroom has a comfortable king size bed (5ft wide), access to the terrace, and lovely double doors that bathe the room in light. There are hefty curtains as well (so you won’t be disturbed if you want to sleep in). A second bedroom can be made up as two twins or a king (5ft wide). The bathrooms, in keeping with the rest of the property, have been tastefully designed. The first has a bath with a built-in showerhead, basin, cosmetic mirror and sink. A second bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin.

Access & Layout

The apartment is situated on the lower ground floor with one short flight (about 10 steps) of external stairs leading down to the front door. Once inside, the property is arranged across one level.

Local amenities such as grocery stores and ATMs are close by, as well as a diverse array of restaurants and cafes. Chimes offers hearty English food in a cosy and delightful setting, or perhaps try Goya a lively Spanish Tapas bar. Whatever your mood you’ll find it nearby. Looking up at the brick townhouses of Pimlico today, you would scarcely believe that only a few centuries ago the area was a marginalized marshland. Luckily for those in the know, this neighbourhood keeps quiet about its many accolades and to this day often goes overlooked. If you are fortunate enough to stumble upon it the regal architecture, elegant parks, and lines of terraced stucco-fronted houses will whisk you back to a previous age. Meanwhile the village-like atmosphere, so rarely found in London, will come as a surprise seeing as you are within easy distance of London’s most sought after attractions such as Sloane Square, Tate Britain and Buckingham Palace. After all its streets were enough to house Winston Churchill, who famously admitted “my tastes are simple: I am easily satisfied with the best,” so you can rest assured there must be something here worth a second look.

When you are ready to venture out a plethora of activities await on your doorstep. Perhaps take the scenic route through St James’s Park to Trafalgar Square. Admire the, now listed, surrounding architecture that was designed by Thomas Cubbitt in the mid-nineteenth century, as you wander down to the riverfront. Travelling along the water’s edge you will come to the refreshing green space of Victoria Tower Gardens, and soon after Big Ben, Parliament Square and Westminster Pier.

"Great place to stay in London"

Ivy Lettings was a great group to work with. They answered all of our questions during the booking process and continued to respond quickly to any issues during our stay. We flew in from the States about mid-day on Monday and took full advantage of the pre-arranged transfer from Heathrow. We stayed in the Belgrave Road apartment for 7 nights and it was exactly as shown in the pictures. It was below ground apartment but had a small outdoor area off the main bedroom. It was very clean and well lighted. It did not have a “basement” feel and was quite cozy. We would definitely recommend it for a stay in London. Only 5 minutes from Pimlico Station and 20 minutes from Victoria Station, it’s location made it very easy to access all types of transportation. The Belgravia area had many supermarket, restaurants, pubs, and theaters nearby within easy walking distance. There were comfortable beds with beautiful down quilt and pillows, two modern updated bathrooms and a very usable fully equipped kitchen. Again, I can’t conclude without commenting on the help from the wonderful staff at Ivy Lettings. Thanks to alyce and Emma for making our stay in London a perfect visit. A+++

Even better than I had hoped!!

We wanted a true getaway, that included our "own" space in which to relax, and this Belgrave Road garden flat was perfect for us. Lots of space for 2 people who are more than a little spoiled, and would have easily accommodated 4 comfortably. Perfectly outfitted with a neutral palette (very soothing), full kitchen WITH a combination washer and dryer (helpful when I got chocolate from a Peggy Porschen cupcake on my trousers!) and 2 full bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable, and there was even a large selection of pillows from which to choose the proper firmness. The small outside patio/garden area allowed us to enjoy morning coffee and tea in the sunshine, and was the biggest factor in our choice of a flat. We had wanted an outside area where we could have a morning cigarette without polluting the apartment, and the charming wooden patio off the main bedroom suited us perfectly. Cleaning service was available, but the apartment was spotless when we arrived, and there were supplies there (including a vacuum) for us to keep it up comfortably.

A very short walk down the street brought us to "our local", a pub named The Gallery, which had the BEST fish and chips we found in London, and a delightful ambiance. Very strongly recommended. The Pimlico tube station was only a couple of minutes stroll away, enabling us easily to get all over the city without the hassles of London traffic. The flat itself is on a medium busy street, with great noise insulation, so no traffic or outside conversations disturbed us.

The managing agency, Ivy Lettings, was very responsive to questions, and very helpful in the renting process. We were met by Chris, a delightful Aussie gentleman, who patiently answered all of our (jet-lagged) questions and showed us everything. No need to call them with complaints or concerns during our stay, although from our pre-rental interaction with them, I believe they would have been right on top of any problems.

We have to travel to London several times a year on business, and this flat is our new pied a terre. The Internet had a strong signal, which enabled me to keep up with emails, and I could have a meeting in the living room or around the dining table as needed. About the same price as a luxury hotel, but with privacy and amenities that made it a haven for us.

It was cozy but dark.

The location was fabulous and very close to Victoria Station, places to eat and small grocery stores. It was a shame that right to the right of the doorway in to the flat there was an open door with rubbish overflowing. It would have been nice not to have to see that every time we entered the flat. The kitchen was great and well equipped and the bathrooms were a really nice size although they were the brightest rooms in the flat but had no electrical plug-ins. The bedrooms were ample and the beds were good, but there were no sheets, only a comforter. The heat was a little erratic but okay. The refrigerator was okay, but they did not defrost or clean the freezer. We really did enjoy our stay though.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest Thanks for your review! Yes this property has been one of our most popular units since we started in 2009, largely for its great location. I’m so sorry to hear of the issues with the rubbish. We’ve never encountered this before and we’ve raised it with the neighbours to ensure it is always placed in the right cupboard, out of sight. For the bathrooms, I’m pleased you liked the size of these. In the UK, bathrooms are not allowed to have electrical outlets by law, only small ones for electrical shavers (not that these are widely used anymore, mostly they’re used for charging electrical toothbrushes!) I'm sorry you found the home dark. It has a garden at one end and large windows at the front but its location in a terraced building (like most of London apartments) does mean the rooms in between don't have windows, but we've never had this complaint before. I’m pleased you liked the beds too - yes we just offer duvets (and of course sheets on the mattress!) but not a second “top” sheet. Our housekeeping team will ensure that the freezer is properly defrosted for the benefit of future guests. The heating, we have checked, does work fine, but I’m sorry that you encountered problems. Knightsbridge’s main draw is the shopping – it is the site of Londons most famous store and rich mans playground, Harrods, which most visitors sensibly enjoy more as an attraction than a retailer. Any committed shopper will enjoy browsing the stores (or perhaps just store windows) of the area's international fashion houses or London-based designers. These shops prey on Knightsbridge’s wealthy and fashionable sets, and reflect the fact that it is one of London’s most desirable locales. Architecturally, the same residential features unite Knightsbridge and Belgravia – broad leafy streets, stucco squares, cobbled pastel mews, and an aristocratic feel exuded by large townhouses flanked by wide-set columns. In the same vein, centrally located but infinitely more affordable, sits Pimlico. The area is perfectly situated to reach central London, enjoying beautiful views across the river to Battersea and almost personal access to Buckingham Palace and Westminster.
